Child abuse cover up – call youself women? The Death of Democracy in Scotland

REBLOGGED

Child abuse cover up – call youself women?

June 14, 2017

UK Privy Council Members collude to cover up state child abuse in Scotland

When the Scottish Government stated it would set up an inquiry into state child abuse in December 2014  – Nicola Sturgeon then dragged it out – first taking 6 months to appoint a chair of the independent panel – whom 2 religious orders objected to – delaying it further until October 2015.

The independent panel of three people were finally appointed to lead the inquiry,  Professor Michael Lamb, Susan O’Brien QC and Glenn Houston.

Despite Scottish Goverment claims this would be one of the most wide reaching inquiries Scotland has ever seen, by 25th November 2015, survivors accused Hollyrood of now being complicit in the cover up after the inquiry remit was restricted to mainly abuse in residential care – blocking many survivors from giving their testimony in one fell swoop.

The Charity supporting the survivors stating

““This decision resulted in many victims, who had suffered grievous abuse, being excluded from the inquiry. We are of the view that this decision has enabled institutions and organisations, who have covered up criminal activity, to escape public scrutiny, and possible prosecution. The failure to extend the remit of the inquiry has effectively resulted in the Government becoming complicit in a cover-up of abuse.”

And as well as blocking many survivors from giving evidence, survivors soon realised why as it was revealed the Charity spokesperson

“also hit out over what he claimed was the Government’s failure to properly address the issue of compensation payments.

“At meetings with officials about redress, it became clear that they had instructions to shut down any discussions about compensation or interim payments for sick and elderly survivors.

This has caused considerable distress amongst survivors as they feel that they had been failed yet again by the establishment”

Seven months later, in June 2016 we learned

“Professor Michael Lamb resigned from the panel, stating that the inquiry was “doomed” due to government interference.”

“Mr Lamb, who headed a research unit at the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in Washington DC for 17 years, said “repeated threats” to the inquiry’s independence had undermined its work and left it “doomed before the first witness has been heard”.

He said the government had delayed or prevented the appointment of members of staff and said the inquiry had to wait for prolonged periods before making key decisions.”

Then just a week later, on the 5th July 2016 we discovered the Chair of the Inquiry, Susan O’Brien had been “asked to go” with a report revealing

“The Scottish Government says she was asked to go after she made “inappropriate comments” during a training session in February. But in her resignation letter, O’Brien insists threats to oust her were being made as early as January.

There are reports that friction was caused by O’Brien’s desire to use junior counsel as opposed to in-house officials to take testimony. Education secretary John Swinney says junior counsel would have cost £100 an hour.”

Susan O’Brian is now suing the Scottish Government for £500,000 as a result with a report revealing fellow panel members opposed this move by the Scottish Government Ministers to effectively sack the independent chair of the inquiry with the report going on to say

“First Minster Nicola Sturgeon told the Scottish Parliament:

“We don’t accept Professor Lamb’s comments about the independence of the Inquiry.”

The legal papers state:

“She (Ms O’Brien) considered that she had a duty to inform the public that the Inquiry’s independence was being actively undermined by the defenders (Scottish government).”

“Ms O’Brien also argues ministers lacked any legal right to remove her and seeks damages for loss of earnings and damage to her reputation.”

So who made the accusations against Ms O’Brien QC, 11 weeks after she is meant to have overhead O’Brien making so called inappropriate comments – an SNP candidate making money from the inquiry.

“At the centre of the controversy is child abuse expert Claire Fyvie, from the Rivers Centre for Traumatic Stress, which was funded to provide three months of support to those taking evidence. It was Fyvie who overheard O’Brien’s comments and reported them to ministers. Fyvie had been an SNP candidate in the North Lanarkshire council elections.

The third panel member, Glenn Houston, chief executive of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority of Northern Ireland, who has not resigned, wrote a letter in support of O’Brien.”

The inquiry then “commissioned” Professor Lorraine Radford of the University of Central Lancashire, to undertake a review of evidence of the prevalence of child abuse in Scotland  –.

The UK Privy Council controls universities too – and NSPCC is the charity accused of exaggeration and fabrication of facts and research as its peculiar brand of anti-parent propaganda to promote itself – using Tory party favourite PR company Saatchi and Saatchi to run expensive NSPCC promotion campaigns.

With the 2004 story headlined

“A danger to the nation’s children The NSPCC’s new ‘Someone To Turn To’ campaign will poison family relations, says the author of Paranoid Parenting”.

Weeks after the chair of the inquiry was pushed out by the Scottish Government Nicola took the opportunity to appoint a “judge”, Lady Anne Smith  to “head the inquiry” as the new Chairwoman.

While John Swinney claimed

“It is in the nature of Lady Smith’s background as an experienced judge that the inquiry will be taken forward without fear or favour to identify how individuals and institutions failed many of Scotland’s most vulnerable children.”

Now we are told judges are independent of government, politicians and political parties.

What Nicola, Lady Smith and John Swinney did NOT say is that Lady Smith is in the UK Privy Council for life with Nicola Sturgeon – where they both swear an oath of secrecy to become members – to keep all state secrets together for life.

Does this include blocking state secrets about state child abuse?

Lady Smith soon showed her intentions as to survivors horror in January 2017 they found out under Lady Smith’s chairmanship the inquiry had now decided

“that if any perpetrator of abuse were mentioned in evidence, he or she would be informed.”

Not only would those who stand accused of abuse be told – Lady Smith decided all the alleged abusers would be given a list of names of every survivor who pointed the finger at them for what they had done.

The BBC adding

“The charity said this could deter many survivors from coming forward – so it was vital that they had access to legal advice to support them in giving evidence.”

On 20th February 2017 BBC revealed the inquiry had moved to block 1,058 survivors getting the legal assistance, financial support required to give evidence and to deny them the ability to cross-examine witnesses.

Lady Smith achieved this by refusing to give the Charity, Wellbeing Scotland, offiicial status despite the charity supporting 1,058 survivors and is

“the largest organisation in Scotland specialising in historical child abuse cases so it was imperative that it could give evidence to the inquiry”

with the BBS stating the inquiry (Lady Smith) felt

“the organisation did not meet the criteria to play a significant role.”

This after the Scottish Government, in August 2016, refusing to provide the charities supporting the victims with £13.5 million in funding required and meant to provide further support to survivors over 5 years.

Instead the Scottish Government set up their own survivor support service to get the money instead and then

“asked for information about their cases to be transferred to a new support service for abuse survivors.

The clients of Open Secret” (now Wellbeing Scotland) “and the In Care Survivor Service say the move risk breaching their confidentiality, despite the fact that the government says data will by anonymous.”

This move a blatant attempt for the Scottish Government to get their hands on all the victims files and their personal details.

Would Lady Smith provide those details to those who standaccused too – before the victims have a chance to give evidence to the inquiry?

This move forced Wellbeing Scotland, to block the Scottish Government “request to work with the new initiative” (as planned?) as the Scottish government claimed their new

“In Care Survivor Support Fund Service” funded with £13.5m over 5 years

“aims to direct people to the help they need, and could send them back to Open Secret, which would be paid for each case they take on.”

“But the charity’s chief executive Janine Rennie said she would rather shut than risk the privacy of clients.”The Scottish Government has asked for details of vulnerable survivors to help them “transition” to a new service. We have said under no circumstances will we be passing on any confidential information, even if that means our service comes to an end,” she said.”

The day before a report revealed

“Civil servants have told the charity running In Care Survivors Service Scotland that funding could be at risk if it refuses to hand over details of its work.

Some abuse survivors say there could be suicides if the counselling service, which has been run by Falkirk-based charity Open Secret since 2008, is stopped.

It has worked with more than 1000 people who suffered sexual or physical abuse, or both, while in care, and offers one-to-one counselling, group work, befriending and advocacy.

The Scottish Government provides £200,000 of funding per year.”

Not long after the Scottish Government removed the funding to bankrupt the charity so survivors of state child abuse would be left with no support.

Then on 21st Feb 2017, the day after we learned the Charity supporting the victims was being blocked by Lady Smith – the last remaining independent panel member announced he had been given two public sector jobs and he resigned to go collect the money from two public sector jobs, where he said

” a “change in priorities” in his working life meant he had applied for positions at the Northern Health and Social Care Trust and the Disclosure and Barring Service.”

“I have now been successful in those applications and the appointments have been made”

With the BBC revealing

“A successor to Mr Houston will not be appointed to the inquiry so Lady Smith will continue as the sole panel member.

The Scottish government said this brought it in line with other public inquiries established in Scotland under the 2005 Inquiries Act.

All this has ensured this leaves Nicola Sturgeon’s fellow UK privy councillor for life in sole charge of the four year Inquiry.

When the state defendant interferes with due process to remove independent panel members to replace them with a hand picked Judge with a conflict of interest with Nicola Sturgeon – both sworn to keep state secrets together – this is not an independent inquiry but a blatant cover up as survivors tried to warn – and a blatant abuse of position and power by Sturgeon, Swinney and Smith.

But the story does not end there as abuse survivors are being told the state and the residential institutions have lost their files or there is no record of them being in care at all.

Well I say – time for the survivors to pick women they know and can trust and the Scottish Nation demands survivors and a team of volunteer women are given complete access to all files and archives of the state, councils, social work and these residential institutions – and I bet we will find those so called missing files.

And as for Sturgeon abusing her power to order civil servants to remove the funding from the charity supporting 1,058 survivors – in a blatant attempt to get her hands on all the victims files – that alone should be cause for a police inquiry – tampering with an inquiry and a jail term.

What sort of women are Sturgeon and Smith – the sort of women the Royal family want in their UK Privy Council for life – just as they wanted Thatcher and May.

If the allegations are true it would make the cult the worst child murderers in British history

A group of women who say Sir Edward Heath abused them as children have also accused their parents of being involved in up to 16 murders.

The farce came as police probe incredible claims that the former prime minister was linked to a paedophile ring that killed as many as 16 children – which would make them the worst child murderers in British history.

The seemingly far-fetched allegations have been made by a family who allege that the politician was part of a satanic sex cult run by their own parents.

A group of women who say Sir Edward Heath abused them as children have also accused their parents of being involved in up to 16 murders

Police are probing incredible claims that the former prime minister was linked to a paedophile ring that killed as many as 16 children

They say that the cult regularly slaughtered children as ritual sacrifices in churches and forests around southern England and also participated in similar ceremonies in Africa.

They claim their mother and father – who is said to have known the former Conservative leader – were responsible for slaughtering children ranging from babies to teenagers – yet they evaded justice.

The paedophile ring – which they say Sir Edward was part of – stabbed, tortured and maimed youngsters in churches and burnt babies in satanic orgies before men, women and children gorged themselves on blood and body parts, police have been told.

If the bizarre allegations were to be proved, the parents who allegedly led the killings would be responsible for murdering more children than Fred and Rose West.

They would also be on a par with Thomas Hamilton, who shot dead 16 children in the 1996 Dunblane school massacre.

The women’s lurid claims were dismissed by police in 1989 when they came forward. Sir Edward’s name was never mentioned to police at the time. It was only last year that he was named for the first time after one of the claimants said she had ‘remembered’ a man called ‘Ed’ was a prime mover in a network of paedophile abusers.

But there is no suggestion that Sir Edward killed any children himself in the women’s accounts.

Wiltshire Police have spent more than a year investigating the allegations as part of an inquiry that has cost taxpayers over £883,431 and irretrievably tarnished the reputation of the unmarried politician, who died in 2005, aged 89.

Last night Sir Edward’s godson, Lincoln Seligman, said: ‘I understand that these claims from the 1980s were at the time dismissed as complete fantasy by police. It is disappointing that these wild allegations have been reheated and randomly attached to Edward Heath’s name.’

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: ‘We are not prepared to discuss this as this is an on-going investigation.’

GODSON HITS OUT AT CHIEF’S CLAIM

The godson of Sir Edward Heath reacted angrily yesterday after it was claimed that a police chief is ‘120 per cent’ sure that sex abuse allegations against the former prime minister are genuine.

Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale was reported to believe child abuse allegations against the late politician – which include lurid tales of satanic child slaughter – are ‘totally convincing’.

Mr Veale, whose force has been investigating the claims for 18 months, is also said to believe that Sir Edward was a paedophile whose crimes were covered up.

Police have established that, contrary to claims that Sir Edward could not have committed the crimes because he never drove a car and always had a police driver with him, he did drive and once had a car.

But the claims have infuriated Sir Edward’s godson, who dismissed it as a ‘PR hustle of some sort’ by the Wiltshire force ahead of an official report into the investigation. Lincoln Seligman, who has described the probe as a ‘witch-hunt’, has questioned how police can say the allegations are true, just on the basis that he may have driven a car.

Yesterday Mr Veale said: ‘The legal role of the police service is to, on behalf of the public, impartially investigate allegations without fear or favour, and go where the evidence takes us

Police ‘120 per cent sure Sir Edward Heath was a paedophile’

More than 30 people have claimed the ex-Prime Minister sexually abused them, says a source

Police are “120 per cent sure” Sir Edward Heath was a paedophile, it was reported last night.

More than 30 people have claimed the ex-Prime Minister sexually abused them, says a source

The individuals are not knn to each other but are said to have given “strikingly similar” accounts of incidents to Wiltshire cops.

Police have established that, contrary to claims, Sir Edward did have a car and could have driven himself after being deposed as Tory leader in 1975, aged 58.

Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale is also understood to support claims alleged crimes by Sir Edward, who died in 2005 aged 89, were reported to cops years ago but covered up by the Establishment.

Some of those who said Sir Edward abused them are believed to have told police they went on to commit sexual abuse crimes themselves as a result.

A probe into Sir Edward, called Operation Conifer, was set up in 2005.

Mr Veale, who aims to publish a report in June, was pressured to abandon the inquiry last year after separate claims of a paedo ring at Westminster involving ex Home Secretary the late Lord Brittan and ex defence chief Lord Bramall, were groundless.

Claims Sir Edward was involved in Satanic orgies have been dismissed as “fantasy” by an expert asked to review the case.  http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/police-120-per-cent-sure-9848136    http://archive.is/SP5qT

Sir Edward Heath WAS a paedophile, says police chief: Astonishing claim is made that the former PM is guilty of vile crimes ‘covered up by the Establishment’

  • More than 30 people have come forward with claims about the former PM
  • And they are said to have given ‘strikingly similar’ accounts to Wiltshire Police
  • The county’s chief constable has said that the allegations are ‘totally convincing’
  • Pictures have emerged of Heath driving – despite it being claimed he didn’t have a car

The police chief investigating claims that Sir Edward Heath was a paedophile is convinced the allegations are ‘120 per cent’ genuine, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

More than 30 people have come forward with claims of sexual abuse by the former Conservative Prime Minister, according to well-placed sources.

And they are said to have given ‘strikingly similar’ accounts of incidents to Wiltshire Police – even though the individuals are not known to each other.

The Mail on Sunday has been told that Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale regards the allegations as ‘totally convincing’, and plans to publish a report in June.

Detectives have established that, contrary to claims that Sir Edward could not have committed the crimes as he ‘never drove a car’ and ‘always’ had a police driver with him, he did drive – and did have a car.

They have photographic evidence that shows he is a driver, and have established that he had a driving licence. He also bought a Rover 2000 after being deposed as Tory leader by Margaret Thatcher in 1975, when he was 58.

Astonishingly, Mr Veale is also understood to support claims that Sir Edward’s alleged crimes were reported to police years ago but covered up by the Establishment.

Some of those who said Sir Edward abused them are believed to have told police they went on to commit sexual abuse crimes themselves as a result.

The investigation into Sir Edward, called Operation Conifer, was set up in 2015 in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.

Mr Veale came under pressure to abandon the inquiry last year after separate claims of a paedophile ring at Westminster involving former Home Secretary, the late Lord Brittan, and former Defence chief, Lord Bramall, were found to be groundless.

Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale regards the allegations as ‘totally convincing’, and plans to publish a report in June

Allegations that Sir Edward was involved in satanic orgies have been dismissed as fantasy by an expert asked to review the case.

However, The Mail on Sunday has been told that Mr Veale believes the paedophile allegations are genuine. A source said: ‘Mr Veale believes in them 120 per cent and thinks they are totally convincing.

‘There are very close similarities in the accounts given by those who have come forward. The same names used for him, the same places and same type of incidents keep coming up.

‘What stands out is that the people giving these accounts are not connected but the stories and the details dovetail.

‘It contains disturbing stuff. Investigators have been shocked by what they have learned.’

Another source said: ‘The police were initially sceptical about the allegations, but now believe them. And they have come round to the view that they were covered up in the past because of who Heath was.

DO THESE PHOTOS UNDERMINE EX PM’S DEFENCE

Sir Edward Heath seen with his car in Weymouth, despite claims he never drove

These are the photographs that appear to disprove the notion that the allegations against Sir Edward cannot be true because he ‘never drove a car’ and was always accompanied by police.

Both were taken in October 1975. In the main picture on the right, Heath is standing by the driver’s door of the Rover 2000 he bought after Margaret Thatcher ousted him as Tory leader in February that year. In the picture on the left, he is seen arriving at the Tory Party conference in Blackpool – in the driver’s seat.

The Mail on Sunday has learned that Wiltshire Police has also obtained photographic evidence of him driving.

The issue was first raised by former Cabinet Secretary Lord Armstrong, who worked with Sir Edward in No 10. Lord Armstrong said Sir Edward – whom he described as ‘asexual’ – had a 24-hour police guard and driver from the day he became PM in 1970 to his death in 2005, and did not have his own car.

‘When he was at home he had two policemen on the gate, he had the personal protection officer from Scotland Yard in the house, he never drove a car himself, he always had an official driver,’ said Lord Armstrong. ‘It seems highly unlikely he could have escaped all that to do the kind of thing that is described.’

Sir Edward Heath again pictured driving, this time leaving leaves the conference for the sea breezes of Weymouth

Sir Edward bought the Rover after losing the chauffeur-driven car he was entitled to as Prime Minister, then Opposition leader.

A confidant of the former PM said: ‘He definitely could and did drive, though was a notoriously bad one. When he went to music concerts in Salzburg and hired a car, he was meant to drive it because his British police guards weren’t officially allowed to.

‘But they insisted as they were frightened he was going to crash.’

‘They will not be deflected by the rich and powerful trying to do the same now. Mike Veale is doing a great job and should be congratulated for his courage.’

The disclosures come after several senior politicians dismissed the allegations against Heath as absurd and unfounded. Former Tory Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind complained Heath’s reputation was being ‘besmirched’. Heath’s sexuality has been the source of much speculation over the years. Some believed he was gay, others said he was ‘asexual.’ At one point, he was being investigated by no fewer than five police forces – the Met, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Kent and Jersey.

The claims, some of which have been proved false, include alleged links to a convicted brothel keeper known as Madame Ling-Ling. A paedophile dossier compiled by Labour peer Baroness Castle said he offered young boys trips on his yacht, and in a separate incident one man claimed Sir Edward picked him up hitchhiking in Kent as a 12-year-old in the 1960s and lured him to his Mayfair flat.

Labour MP Tom Watson also said he had received allegations about Sir Edward. However the claims Mr Veale is investigating, which date from the 1960s to 1990s, are not linked to the discredited evidence of the man known as ‘Nick’, who alleged a high-level paedophile ring.

One of the key counter-claims made when the allegations first surfaced came from former Cabinet Secretary Lord Armstrong, who worked with Heath when he was Prime Minister. He said Heath ‘never drove a car’ and always had at least one policeman with him from 1970 until his death in 2005.

Labour MP Tom Watson also said he had received allegations about Sir Edward

Labour MP Tom Watson also said he had received allegations about Sir Edward

The fact that Sir Edward could drive was confirmed last night by a friend, who said the former Prime Minister bought a car in 1975, although Sir Edward was later given a chauffeur-driven car and police guard after IRA death threats.

Asked if Mr Veale believed the allegations against Sir Edward were ‘totally convincing’, a police spokesman said the Chief Constable was determined to ‘ensure the investigation is proportionate, measured and legal’ and that the job of the police was to ‘impartially investigate allegations without fear or favour and go where the evidence takes us. It is not the role of the police to judge the guilt or innocence of people in our criminal justice system.’

Further asked if Mr Veale had ‘120 per cent’ faith in the allegations, the spokesman declined to comment.

Police refuse to call off the dogs after VIP child sex ring fiasco

Launched in 2015 to investigate allegations against Sir Edward Heath, Operation Conifer has been dogged by claims that it traduces the reputation of a Prime Minister who died more than a decade ago and could not be put on trial.

The operation, which has a staff of 17 and has run up a bill approaching £1 million, did not get off to a good start when Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale had to apologise for launching it in front of cameras outside Sir Edward’s former house, Arundells, in Salisbury.

Demands to call it off grew last November when Scotland Yard was forced to abandon its Operation Midland investigation into similar claims of a VIP paedophile ring in Westminster.

After a flurry of false accusations, Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe apologised to former Defence chief Lord Bramall, ex-Tory MP Harvey Proctor, DJ Paul Gambaccini and Lady Brittan, widow of the late Lord Brittan.

A police officer stands at the gate of Arundells, the former home of  Heath when the probe was launched

Pressure on Operation Conifer mounted after this newspaper revealed how an expert, brought in by police to assess claims that Heath was linked to paedophiles who held satanic orgies, dismissed them as fantasy.

Days after The Mail on Sunday report, Mr Veale came out fighting and insisted Operation Conifer was not a ‘witch-hunt’.

In a surprise statement released on December 2, he said he refused to ‘buckle’ to demands to abandon the inquiry, and stressed his officers had not spoken to ‘Nick’, the man at the root of Operation Midland.

The Heath investigation was not a ‘fishing trip’, he said, adding that he was ‘duty-bound’ to go ahead with it ‘without fear or favour and go where the evidence takes us’.

He accused his critics of ignorance, and rebuked them for using ‘inappropriate and unacceptable pressure’ in an attempt to halt the inquiry.

Mr Veale said a ‘significant number of individuals’ had alleged abuse, but refused to say how many or give details of the only two people to be arrested.

He even said the findings of the investigation may never be made public, stating: ‘A confidential closing report will be written… and at that time I will take advice as to what I can legally put in the public domain.’

Police were ‘testing, checking and challenging the evidence and ensuring our approach is proportionate and justified’, he said.

Mr Veale argues that although Sir Edward died in 2005, other offenders may still be alive and victims could require support.

‘If the force had received allegations of non-recent child abuse against a former Prime Minister and done nothing, what would the reaction have been?’

Lincoln Seligman, Sir Edward’s godson, responded to Mr Veale’s December statement by saying: ‘If they have uncovered no evidence after 18 months they should say so.

And if Conifer is wound up, [Sir Edward] deserves to be exonerated as publicly as he was initially smeared. Shuffling the inquiry’s findings off into the night is not acceptable.’

Other aspects of Operation Conifer have also come under fire. Wiltshire Police interviewed key figures at Private Eye because the satirical magazine joked about unmarried Sir Edward’s sexuality 40 years ago.

They wanted to know if its nickname for him, ‘Sailor Ted’, in his days as PM from 1970 to 1974, was a reference to rumours that he was gay.

Police even asked current editor Ian Hislop what he knew about Heath, despite Hislop being a teenager during the period under investigation.

Officers have also tracked down former Downing Street staff to ask them if young men were ever sneaked into No 10.

Times writer and ex-Tory MP Matthew Parris dismissed the allegations, saying: ‘If Heath was a child abuser, I’m an aardvark.’

The programme was originally conceived by Laura Huxley, widow of the writer Aldous Huxley, in the late 1970s in California, USA. Laura developed deep concerns for disadvantaged children, their capacity to fulfill their human potential and their earliest relationship experiences.

Whilst the original Teens and Toddlers programme was the brainchild of Laura Huxley, it was her friend and mentor, Lady Diana Whitmore, who brought the programme to the UK and has been the driving force behind the its growth ever since.

Diana founded the Psychosynthesis Trust over 25 years ago and has served as President ever since. With this experience, Diana has been able to draw upon a deep understanding of positive psychology and the flourishing effect it can have upon young people.

After moving to the UK and seeing the social exclusion of young people in London, Diana realised that the Teens and Toddlers programme could address this issue.

children our ultimate investment was founded by Lady Diana Whitmore in 2001 to address the social exclusion of disadvantaged young people in London. In 2011, we changed the name to Teens and Toddlers in line with our flagship programme. We now run a range of programmes, which inspire disadvantaged young people to achieve the life skills, qualifications and self belief they need to succeed in school, work and life.

Our ultimate aim is for all young people to feel valued, included and inspired to contribute to their communities. Since our launch we have reached over 16,000 children and young people, with plans to reach many more.

Roberto Assagioli (27 Feb 1888 – Aug 1974) an Italian psychiatrist and pioneer in the fields of humanistic and transpersonal psychology. in 1965 he founded of the psychological movement known as Psychosynthesis, which is currently being run by President Lady Diana Whitmore. The Trust is affiliated with Humanistic and Integrative Psychology Section of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), and is a founding member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (EFPP). At present time, the group consists of a large group of Psychosynthesis practitioners who mediate students.which is still being developed today by therapists and psychologists, who practice the psychological methods and techniques he developed. His work, expounded in two books and many monographs published as pamphlets, emphasized the possibility of progressive integration, or synthesis, of the personality

The Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis (AAP) was formed in August 1995, as a non-profit organization in the United States, with approximately two-hundred members across the country. Members of the AAP run programs, workshops, and conferences to discuss Assagioli and Psychosynthesis, and publish a newsletter to discuss new topics related to the field.

The Will Project Wiki[7] was created in 2007, and was based on the Will Project proposed by Assagioli when he was alive.

The Will Project consists of over 63 articles based on Assagioli’s published book The Act Of Will http://www.illuminatiorderoto.com/resources/THE-ACT-OF-WILL.pdf  http://archive.li/mneZP

International Association for the Advancement of Ethnology and Eugenics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Association_for_the_Advancement_of_Ethnology_and_Eugenics

IAAEE was founded in 1959 and has headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. According to Russ Bellant, it was later also incorporated in the United States through the personal agency of Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton, a member of the British Cliveden Set which supported appeasement of Adolf Hitler prior to World War II.[1][2] Other historians, including Bruce Minton, give differing evidence.[3]

READ MORE Dr Ewen Cameron, Hess, The Douglas-Hamilton’s & Hobgoblins  http://archive.li/k2kLT

A. James Gregor was a founding director of the IAAEE which was, according to Gregor, established to restore “an intellectual climate in the U.S., and throughout the Western World, which would permit a free and open discussion of racial … problems.”[4] Gregor would later assert that his association with the organization was based on his concerns about congenital birth defects and the reproduction of the mentally retarded, as opposed to racial matters. Other members included Senator Jesse Helms and the oil billionaires William Herbert and Nelson Bunker Hunt.

The IAAEE’s main benefactor was Colonel Wickliffe Draper, a segregationist who opposed the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and sought to fund research that would provide scientific justification for segregation and revive the concept of racial hygiene which had been discredited as a result of the Nazis. In the 1970s Gregor was criticised for accepting grants from the Pioneer Fund which had been established by Draper to advance his views. IAAEE received $82,000 in grants from the Pioneer Fund between 1971 and 1996.

In the 1960s, Stanley Porteus served on the Executive Committee of the IAAEE.[5] Henry E. Garrett, professor emeritus of psychology from Columbia University, was president of the IAAEE and one of the editors of Mankind Quarterly. Other key figures included Robert E. Kuttner and Donald A. Swan.

The shaming of big, poor families smacks of eugenics   11 Jul 2015  http://www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/13416701.The_shaming_of_big__poor_families_smacks_of_eugenics/  http://archive.li/rlTDK

Social Darwinism, eugenics & Lennox Castle http://www.secretscotland.org.uk/index.php/Secrets/LennoxCastleHospital#t2.2_Social_Darwinism_and_eugenics  http://archive.li/jrOqb

Nineteenth century reformers combined their new medical diagnoses with a concern to tackle what they saw as the social causes of cruelty and incapacity. Two theories dominated: social Darwinism and eugenics.

Social Darwinism drew on Darwin’s ideas of natural selection and emphasised the contribution of the fittest and most superior individuals to the survival of the human species. The social Darwinists, who included some of the most prominent thinkers of their time, believed that social ‘engineering’ or the control or manipulation and improvement of social conditions would do away with, or weaken, the effect of nature’s shaping forces. The result would be uncontrolled breeding and weakening of the genetic pool and hence the deterioration of the race and swamping of the higher types within society. Eugenicists took these ideas further, arguing that those who were weaker, ‘degenerate’ or ‘defective’ in some way should not be allowed to breed or interbreed at all as their offspring would inevitably degrade the quality of the race. Poverty, ignorance, mental defectiveness as well as lack of moral values were seen as evidence that British society needed to purify its genetic stock and deal with what were seen as poisonous environments in the slums and factories. Great emphasis was placed on parenthood and procreation.

The influence of the eugenics movement in this country was strong and had a particularly pernicious effect on the care of children with learning difficulties. Ideas based on notions of racial purity led to demands for compulsory sterilisation of young people with learning difficulties and the application of a condemnatory morality which saw unmarried mothers locked away in mental handicap institutions. Their custodial care came largely to be accepted by the medical and educational establishments and their situation largely invisible to wider society (Hendrick, 1994, p. 92).

These ideas sustained segregation as a form of provision of care: segregation from society and segregation of the sexes within institutions (Williams, 1989, pp. 160–1).

Eugenicist ideas flourished well into the twentieth century and, some argue, are still alive today, with concern about reproduction a persistent thread as these quotes and the cuttings opposite demonstrate:

The unnatural and increasingly rapid growth of the feeble-minded classes, coupled with a steady restriction among all the thrifty, energetic and superior stocks constitutes a race danger. I feel that the source from which the stream of madness is fed should be cut off and sealed up before another year has passed.

– (Churchill, a proponent of forcible sterilisation, in a private letter to Prime Minister Asquith at the time of the Royal Commission on the Care and Control of the Feeble-Minded, 1904, quoted in Ponting, 1992, p. 23)

[It is] not the very severe cases which are the most dangerous: it is the mild cases, which are capable of being well veneered, so as to look, for a time at any rate, almost normal, against which there is most need to protect society.

– (Mary Dendy, proponent of segregation, writing in 1910, quoted in Jackson, 1996, p. 166)

Let us assume that we could segregate as a separate community all the families in the country containing mental defectives of the primary amentia type. We should find that we had collected among them a most interesting social group. It would include everyone who has extensive practical experience of social service would readily admit, a much larger proportion of insane persons, epileptics, paupers, criminals (especially recidivists), unemployables, habitual slum dwellers, prostitutes, inebriates and other social inefficients than would a group of families not containing mental defectives. The overwhelming majority of the families thus collected will belong to a section of the community which we propose to term the ‘social problem’ or ‘subnormal group’ … If we are to prevent the racial disaster of mental deficiency we must deal not only with the mentally defective persons but with the whole subnormal group from which the majority of them come … The relative fertility of this (subnormal) group is greater than that of normal persons.

Satanic Ritual Dates: 2017 Calendar #SRA

Calendar of 2017 Ritual Dates

Note: Additional information on the following holidays is available at:

This page summarises significant dates and symbols used by various cults and destructive groups. For most survivors, the worst symbols and dates are among those on this page.

Please remember that abusive groups steal, pervert and mock the holidays of legitimate religions. This does not mean that all people who observe these holidays are abusive. It is not their fault that abusive groups choose to defile their sacred days.

Each group is different and may celebrate different sets of holidays, placing emphasis on different days. Dates with significance to individual groups, such as leaders’ birthdays, may also be celebrated. Full and new moons are significant in some cults, particularly if they fall on any of the main holidays or on the survivor’s birthday. Those groups that utilize numerology mark dates whose numbers add up to “power numbers” or dates with repeating numbers, such as October 10, 2010 and November 11, 2011.

Christian, Eastern Orthodox, Jewish, Hindu, Islamic, and Thelemic holidays are listed separately, after the Satanic ritual calendar. Days that might be significant in Australia, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom follow. A section on symbols is at the very end. Other ritual calendars on the Internet (there is much duplication) are at:

Abbreviations

N – Nazi, neo-Nazi
S – Satanic

Note:

Satanic groups: see Christian holidays listed below.

Neo-Nazi groups: see Jewish holidays listed below.

Holidays of other major religions are below and holidays of counties where Satanism is practiced follow the religious holidays.

The Stone Of Destiny. MSM Articles

I’ve been doing some more research on the Stone o Destiny & it was pointed out to me that a few o the articles, which i think are particularly relevant, can’t be read in full unless you pay subscription.

So I “liberated” them. {Justified in my head, as bein for the greater good & all that!}

Anyhoo, here are a couple for now, copied & pasted word for word. The only amendment i made was that I highlighted bits that I personally think are important & i will be adding links at some point!

Ian Hamilton on Stone of Destiny: I felt I was holding Scotland’s soul

By Olga Craig 12:32am GMT 14 Dec 2008

It was the 1950s student jape that re-ignited Scottish nationalism. As the ‘liberation’ of the Stone of Destiny is turned into a film, ringleader Ian Hamilton, now 83, tells Olga Craig why he is still proud of the heist.

It was, Ian Hamilton calmly acknowledges, the moment of no return. ”You sort of know that when you take a crowbar to a side door of Westminster Abbey and jemmy the lock that there isn’t really any going back, don’t you?” he says philosophically. ”Not when you know that the next thing you are going to do is steal one of the ancient relics inside.”

Hamilton is lost in reverie for a moment. A wry smile crosses his face and then a thought strikes him. ”Not,” he says urgently, ”that it was stealing. It was a liberation. A returning of a venerable relic to its rightful ownership.”

Hamilton stretches out his legs and turns his gaze to the slate gray waters of Loch Lomond. ‘‘Of course back then I didn’t realise the scale of the thing. That it would become an international incident,” he says, with the air of a man who has been describing something no more outrageous than picking the lock of his own front door after forgetting the key.

Hamilton allows himself another wry smile. At 83, he is spry, impish, dapper and, though a little hard of hearing, he isn’t in danger of losing his marbles any time soon. Which is hardly surprising. An eminent Scottish lawyer who rose to be a Queen’s Counsel, and who retired only three years ago, he is a shrewd man. One who could easily be mistaken for a pillar of the establishment. But then, appearances can be deceptive.

Almost 60 years ago, on Christmas Day 1950, Hamilton, then a brash and idealistic young student studying law at Glasgow University, became notorious in England and achieved nigh-on hero status in his native Scotland when he and a trio of friends staged one of the most audacious heists imaginable. In a caper worthy of an Ealing comedy, they motored from Glasgow to London (in those days no mean feat), broke into the Abbey, and stole the symbol of Scottish pride, the Stone of Scone – with one of the ”thieves” breaking two toes when it fell on them.

The borders were closed, a posse of police vans gave chase, and a national outcry ensued. Whereupon our intrepid quartet calmly held the Stone hostage, deftly tap-danced their way through police interviews and triumphantly ended the escapade by evading arrest. The Scots were ecstatic. The English, by contrast, were bewildered. Was it, they asked themselves, a student jape or an insult to the majesty of the British state?

No self-respecting Scot should read the next paragraph and, if they do, shame upon them. But, for the benefit of some English readers, a brief history lesson becomes necessary. The Stone of Scone, you might ask – what exactly is it? More than a mere 336?lb slab of ancient sandstone, for a start.

Alleged to once have been Jacob’s pillow, where the Biblical figure laid his head while he dreamt of a ladder to Heaven, it became the symbol of Scottish pride and independence, upon which the nation’s kings were crowned. Then, in 1299, King Edward I, known as Longshanks, infuriated by the rebellious Scots, stormed Scone Abbey and stole it.

Its new home was Westminster Abbey, where it was placed beneath the Coronation chair as a scornful symbol of Scotland’s subservience to England. Ever since then, its theft has been a thorn in the side of Scottish nationalists, symbolising England’s arrogance and Scotland’s shame at the loss of a sacred relic.

Hamilton’s retaliation could have been lifted from a Boy’s Own adventure. Which is exactly what film producer Charles Martin Smith thought when he first read about it nine years ago. It was the utter exuberant amateurism and audacity of the raid that appealed to him. ”This,” he said to himself, ”is the stuff of movies.” But he found few takers. ”Nobody in the States was interested in the story of four Scots stealing a rock. They wanted Superman V,” he says ruefully. Undeterred, he kept looking for backers. And then the Canadians and British became involved.

The resulting film opens this week: Stone of Destiny, a perfect festive feel-good movie starring Robert Carlyle. Smith has gone to great lengths to ensure historical accuracy, even winning approval to film in the Abbey. Determined not to be duped a second time, its officials agreed only “as long as Hamilton doesn’t take the whole Coronation chair”.

The idea makes Hamilton laugh. ”No more breaking and entering for me,” he says. ”I’m no longer a particularly political person. I believe deeply in my country. But as we say here: ‘No Scotland, no me.’ I’m no hero, the title doesn’t fit. Yes, though, I am immensely proud that that young man is me.”

For years, he has refused to discuss it. In fact, young lawyers in his chambers were warned never to mention the Stone of Scone in his presence. Now, with the passing of time, Hamilton has mellowed. ”I’m not ashamed,” he says. ”In fact I’m rather proud. We drove down the bleak, narrow roads to London to hurt no one. Rather to puncture England’s pride. To save no one but the ruined hopes of our country.”

To understand the raid’s significance, one has to recall the political climate of the time. Fresh from the privations of war, and with a new welfare state, Britain at the dawn of the Fifties was a cohesive nation, and the idea of devolution had little currency. Support for the Scottish National Party stood at 0.7 per cent; Labour had withdrawn the commitment to Home Rule from its manifesto; and the Conservatives were at the high point of their electoral history north of the border.

“I wanted to waken the Scots up, that was all,” says Hamilton. He could never remember a time when his imagination hadn’t been fired by the Stone. His mother had told him the tale when he was eight and, at the back of his mind, he always hankered to be the man who brought it home.

Soured by the lack of patriotism shown by his countrymen, he decided to do just that. He enlisted the help of Gavin Vernon, Alan Stuart and Kay Matheson and, with a £50 note from SNP leader John MacCormick in Hamilton’s pocket, the four drove to London in two cars on Christmas Eve. ”It took 20 hours and there were no heaters in cars then,” Hamilton recalls.

He knew the best way to break in was by a door at the east end which was made of pine rather than stout oak. He had discovered this on an earlier trip, when he had been chanced upon by a security man who, thinking him homeless, gave him half a crown. ”I’ve always felt a bit guilty about that but I couldn’t blow my cover,” Hamilton says ruefully.

With Kay at the wheel of one of the get-away cars, the trio pulled and tugged at the Stone but were unable to free it. When they did it toppled over and smashed in two. ”People always think I must have been horrified,” Hamilton laughs. ”But it made it easier to carry.”

He carried the smaller piece to the car and returned for the rest. Then they heard the car moving. Hamilton ran out to find a policeman. He jumped in the car and gave Kay a passionate kiss, telling the officer they couldn’t find a bed and breakfast. Kay drove the fragment to Birmingham for safe-keeping and Hamilton returned to find that his friends had fled. Undeterred, he rolled the remaining piece onto his coat and dragged it to the second car. By coincidence, he encountered his friends and they set off for Scotland.

As they sped off, the nightwatchman was phoning 999. When they reached the border, they marked the Stone’s homecoming after 600 years by dousing it in whisky.

The hue and cry was enormous, but though the foursome were questioned police, once the Stone was found, did not press charges, fearing an even bigger incident. Hamilton gave up the Stone a year later, after a very public and fruitless police search, by leaving it at Arbroath Abbey, where the Scots had signed a declaration to fight for freedom in 1320.

The Stone remained in Westminster Abbey until 1996, when it was returned to Scotland on the condition that it be used for crowning the British monarchy.

Hamilton, meanwhile, spent the intervening years trying to forget about it. Until now. ”Am I proud? You bet I am,” he says. ”I felt I was holding Scotland’s soul when I touched it for the first time. Times have changed; I have mellowed. But ashamed? Never.”

Why Tranter never looks back  29 Dec 1993

After more than 100 books the master of Scottish historical reconstruction, always striving for accuracy, plans at least five more ALLAN MASSIE was not exaggerating when he said that fellow-writer Nigel Tranter had taught many Scots the only Scottish history they know.

At least the task of filling those shameful gaps in our knowledge could not have fallen to better hands than the doyen of historical novelists himself, for Tranter lives with the story of Scotland’s past as if he were a witness to events of only yesterday.

”Those happenings in our history are much more real to me than what I read today about things like Gatt,” says the 84-year-old novelist who writes his books while walking upwards of 12 miles a day along the southern shores of the Forth by Aberlady, eastward of Edinburgh. This ritual of fresh air and freedom, sustained through all seasons with the help of an apple, a cake of chocolate and a protective pair of gloves, has produced well over 100 books, jotted down during pauses on the daily marathon (Tranter means ”walker”).

When I visited him at his splendid old house by the bridge at Aberlady, he had just returned with the daily dose of 1200 words, written more neatly than most of us could achieve at a table. But Nigel Tranter has not only heightened our history by turning it into plausible and highly-readable fiction. He has also played his own powerful part in seeking to shape our nation’s destinyas well as becoming involved in the dramatic events of 1950, following the removal of the Stone of Destiny from Westminster Abbey.

Whereas the strident voice of revolution alienates the majority, the sheer moderation of a man like Tranter is the argument for Scottish self-government most likely to succeed.

Nationalism didn’t enter his thoughts until he was censoring soldiers’ letters during the war and realised that he could tell the Scots by the quality of their vocabulary. They may not have been better people than the English (their letters certainly were!) but they were distinctly different.

”I am a nationalist with a small ‘n’ and I have nothing against the English,” he explains. ”But I do believe that, if you are a self-respecting nation, you should be managing your own affairs and not leaving it to a neighbour.”

Ironically, he blames himself very largely for the fact that we didn’t get our own government more than 40 years ago. That was when he became closely associated with John MacCormick in the Scottish Covenant movement which gathered an astonishing 2,000,000 signatures in support of a Scottish parliament.

Even that figure didn’t reach the necessary level but such a massive demonstration of a nation’s feelings wouldn’t have been ignored if that Covenant had included one vital phrase.

”We failed to say that we would not vote for anyone who opposed this idea,” says Tranter, ”and the Government lawyers picked this up. I blame myself for not seeing it. John MacCormick was a lawyer and he should have seen it too.”

He believes that one additional sentence would have brought results. But, though he is not himself a socialist, he now expects a Labour victory at the next election and, with it, the implementation of the promise to give Scotland what it might have had in 1950.

”I was never a republican,” he emphasises. ”The Scots had governed themselved until 1707 and all we were asking was self-government within the United Kingdom. I was always in favour of the Crown and we would have left that, along with defence and foreign policy, to the UK.”

Around that same period, Nigel Tranter wrote a novel called The Freebooters, about someone removing the Stone of Destiny from Westminster Abbey. Within months it had happened, not only creating one of the most sensational newspaper stories of the century but raising the question of whether Glasgow law student Ian Hamilton had copied the idea.

”It turned out that Ian had not even read the book,” says Nigel Tranter, ”and I knew nothing about what he was doing until a 2am phone-call from the Chief Constable of Edinburgh, Willie Merrilees. If Ian Hamilton had asked me I would have told him not to waste his time because the stone in Westminster Abbey was not the real one. It was a 700-year-old fake which Edward took away with him. I think you would find that the real stone lies somewhere about Loch Finlaggan on Islay. But you would have to be a Macdonald to know that.”

Whatever the stone, its disappearance from the abbey over the Christmas of 1950 caused a worldwide sensation. George VI, who would soon die of cancer, was very upset by the symbolism of it all. Labour’s Home Secretary, Chuter Ede, swung into action, Scotland Yard men were everywhere and Scottish Secretary Hector McNeill, who happened to be a friend of John MacCormick, said that if the Stone could come to light in a dignified manner, it would remain in Scotland for a month till feelings cooled. (In the event, that didn’t happen.)

”I didn’t know where the stone was,” says Tranter, ”but Hugh MacDiarmid and his republican friends had a boat ready to take it out and dump it in the Firth of Clyde. In fact it was lying in a cellar belonging to businessman John Rollo at Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

Nigel Tranter was on a committee seeking to arrange that dignified re-appearance of the historic stone. The minister of St Giles refused to have it there, as did the minister of Dunfermline Abbey. It was the legal luminary John Cameron who struck on the idea of the ruined Arbroath Abbey, where no minister would object.

NIGEL TRANTER hot-footed it to MacCormick’s Glasgow home at 2am, only to find he was in session with the Secretary of State for Scotland. Once the coast was clear, however, the plan was implemented immediately — and the Stone of Destiny was taken to Arbroath by Ian Hamilton and Bertie Gray, the Glasgow monumental sculptor.

There it was discovered at dawn, covered with the Saltire, before being taken into the custody of a cell at Forfar Police Station. Such dramas could hardly have been anticipated by the young Nigel Tranter, who was born in Glasgow in 1909 but moved to Edinburgh as a small boy and attended George Heriot’s. Though he showed no particular interest in history, a passion for architecture took him on cycling expeditions to the Borders, sketching historic mansions with details of their background. After school he went to work for Aldjo Jamieson Arnott, the restoring architects in Edinburgh, but with the early death of his father he joined the Scottish National Insurance Company, which had been founded by his uncle.

But books were already stirring. At 25 he produced the unlikely title of The Fortalicles and Early Mansions of Southern Scotland.

”I was very pleased with myself, now that I was an author,” he says, ”but my wife May pulled me down a peg by saying I wasn’t a real author, by which she meant a novelist. So I wrote a novel, which turned out to be unreadable.”

By 1937, however, while living at Macdonald Place, Edinburgh, he did produce his first novel, Trespass, a romantic story set in the Highlands. But his publisher, Moray Press, went bankrupt and he didn’t receive a penny for it.

By the time war broke out in 1939 he was making #500 a year from his books, while still retaining his post in insurance. By then, the Tranters had moved with their two children, Frances May and Philip, to live at Aberlady, where the author had already been spending much time on duck-shooting.

His war was mostly in East Anglia, as a Royal Artillery officer shooting down German planes, but there was still enough time to write five novels. Returning to Aberlady, Nigel Tranter had not yet become the historical novelist and was writing whatever would support a wife and two children. There would be school fees and university days ahead. So he wrote some splendid children’s books and as he cottoned on to the potential of the Western, he simply read one and wrote 14, under the pen-name of Nye Tredgold.

But Tranter realised he needed another dimension to his writing and that, in his researches for five non-fiction volumes of the The Fortified House in Scotland, he had amassed a great deal of material, even dating back to those days as a schoolboy on his bike. That was when he became, unwittingly, a significant ”teacher” of Scottish history, a role he accepts with utmost responsibility.

Since it is the only account of history many people will read, they will take the story as factual. That is why he believes you mustn’t tamper with character.

”If you are dealing with real people,” he insists, ”you must be as honest as possible. Not everyone believes that. Sir Walter Scott made Rob Roy come late to the Battle of Sheriffmuir, as if it was his fault, which was not true. I don’t know why he did that — except to suit his story.

”In the present day, Dorothy Dunnett turned Macbeth and his half-brother into the same person for the sake of her story. She feels differently from me about this.”

Tranter is meticulous about his source material, where possible seeking out the loser’s version of events as well as the winner’s. Though his trilogy on Bruce has been a massive seller, it is Wallace who quite understandably remains his hero, as the man who fought for the ideal of Scottish freedom, as opposed to the former who fought for a crown.

THOUGH Tranter’s books sell in large numbers, it is an insight into the financial position of successful authors to learn that his royalties bring no more than around #25,000 per year — ”Not as much as my bank manager earns,” he tells you. His public is worldwide, creating a fan mail which receives his personal attention. It can also bring problems.

”People fall in love with authors and I have had propositions,” he says. ”A woman came all the way from Spain and hid in my summer-house. She even threatened suicide. An American lady sent me a photograph of the bed we would occupy if I came to her!”

Age doesn’t bother Nigel Tranter. Apart from his latest novel, Tapestry of the Boar,* which came out this month, he has five more awaiting the publisher — and those notes he showed me the other day were the beginnings of yet another.

A strong religious faith saw him through the worst experience of his life. Son Philip, a civil engineer with Babtie Shaw and Morton and a distinguished climber, was on his way home from a mountaineering expedition when he was killed in a car crash in France. He was only 27.

A Highland road which Philip had built near Dornie was named after him and his father had the sad task of declaring it open. Philip is buried at Aberlady, beside with his mother, May. Nigel Tranter has no fear of death and anticipates the day when he will join them. But there is much living to be done in his charming old house, where he almost apologises for a modern wing which was built as recently as 1746, the year of Culloden.

How would he like to be remembered?

He has no doubt: ”As a storyteller who tried to get people to appreciate Scotland’s story and to realise how exciting, colourful and dramatic it really is.”

Now it was time to type up his day’s work, not on any new-fangled word-processor but on the battered old typewriter which has served him well for a lifetime.

Woman, 85, dies after being struck by bin lorry in Edinburgh 17.4.16

Scene of the crash

An 85-year-old woman has died after being struck by a bin lorry in Edinburgh.

The incident happened on Morningside Road, near to Jordan Lane, at about 11:45 on Sunday. A local diversion was put in place at Comiston Road and Churchill Place, following the incident. Police Scotland have appealed to anyone who may have seen the elderly woman, or the bin lorry, before the incident occurred.

Sgt Andrew Miller, of the road policing unit, said: “The woman was walking with a wheeled walking aid, similar to a zimmer frame, and we’re hopeful anyone who might have seen her will come forward with relevant information.”  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-36066329

By Robbie The Pict

Extract from the remarkable correspondence with authorities, in that delightful book by Robbie the Pict, which led to the UK Government returning the Stone of Destiny to Edinburgh, Scotland. The Stone, used in the coronation of Scottish Kings, was taken from Scone by Edward the First of England in 1296. Its return was agreed under the Treaty of Northampton 1328, but the English Government did not honour that treaty. It remained under the throne of England in Westminster Abbey until 1996.

In 1950, four Scottish students took the stone from Westminster Abbey, in a daring venture, and brought it to Scotland in demonstration of the country’s national aspirations. They later returned the stone at Arbroath Abbey. The authorities decided not to prosecute the four, out of fear of the reaction of the Scottish people, and doubts about how a court case might go. Their official excuse was that ‘ownership’ of the stone might be difficult to prove.

But in 1996 (following the letters reproduced below), at the instigation of Michael Forsyth, then Conservative MP for Stirling, and Secretary of State for Scotland, Prime Minister John Major announced that the Stone would be returned to Scotland. Subsequent to the announcement, the Stone was delivered to Edinburgh Castle on November 15 1996.

The letters reproduced in the following account tell how a remarkable Scot, Robbie the Pict, challenged the Police, and legal authorities, the Government, the Monarchy, and the Dean of Westminster, about the theft and the reset or retention of the stolen property, and demanded its return to Scotland. It is a fascinating and amusing story.

The material is reproduced by permission of the author, Robbie the Pict. Any readers wishing to get a copy of the book may obtain it for £ 5. Cheques should be sent to ‘Robbie the Pict’, Fordside House, Broadford, Isle of Skye, IV49 9AB, Scotland, UK.

The correspondence, with author’s notes, follows below:

First things first. Has anyone ever reported the Stone as stolen?

To: The Chief Constable of Perthshire
c/o Police Station
SCONE, Perth County

November 6th, 1993

Dear Sir,

As one of the five million plus joint-owners, I wish to report the theft of a large stone, known as the `Coronation Stone’ or `Stone of Destiny’, from the Abbey or Palace of Scone.

With every respect for your professional expertise, I can contribute the following information in the hope that it may be of assistance to you in your enquiries.

The stone measures approximately 26″ x 17″ x 11″ and is of dull reddish sandstone with a few small embedded pebbles, perhaps quartz and lydian. A mason might describe it as calcareous freestone. It has iron rings attached to each end and the whole weighs about 336lbs.

The stone is believed to have been stolen in 1296 by an Edward Longshanks, also known as Edward `the First’, born on June 17, 1239 in Westminster, Middlesex, England. The same individual is also believed to be responsible for the murder of a Scotsman by the name of William Wallace in 1305.

There are three contemporary accounts of the theft: in the Chronicle of William Rishanger, on page 168; in the Metrical Chronicle of Harding; and in the Chronicle of Hemingford who quotes Longshanks as saying that the stone shall be taken “as a sign that the (Scottish) Kingdom had been conquered and resigned”. However, the most damning evidence would seem to be available from the thief’s own records. Edward `the First’ apparently kept something called a `wardrobe account’ which in the year 1300 shows an entry detailing a payment of £1/19/7d for the adaption of Longshanks’ chair to enable the Scottish Coronation Stone to be fitted underneath it.

As to the present location of the stone, there is a popular suspicion that it lingers yet under the Kingdom of England’s throne in Westminster Abbey, London, which, if it were true, would render either the Church of England or the present monarch of England guilty of the offence of resetting stolen property. Which particular criminal charges might be preferred is, of course, a matter for the Procurator Fiscal but I have every confidence that the report which the Perthshire Constabulary will be able to submit can be such a model of both independent integrity and thorough investigation as to secure at least the return of the stone to Scone, if not the conviction of those guilty of reset.

I would be obliged if you would advise me of the name of the officer whom you appoint to investigate this most important matter. In the circumstances, no reward is being offered but in the event of the stone being successfully and permanently returned to the Sovereign People of Scotland I understand that a considerable sum of money will be donated to the B.B.C. `Children in Need’ Fund.

Yours faithfully,

Robbie the Pict.

I was still figuring out how in practice we might raise some funds by touring the Stone around the country when almost by return post a letter arrived from Perth. I remember thinking ‘This will give us a whiff of how the proper channels might be.’

From: Chief Superintendent J A MACKAY
Tayside Police
PERTH

11th November, 1993

Dear Sir,

I refer to your letter of 6 November 1993 and I have to advise you that there is no intention of conducting any enquiry of this nature.

Yours faithfully

J A MACKAY

Predictable response from the police in the circumstances but the reply bears one of Mr Major’s nice new Charter Marks. They are of course irrelevant to the subjects of the Kingdom of Scotland but since Major does not generally understand that citizens are the product of parliamentary supremacy, a concept alien to Scotland, we will play along.

To: The Prime Minister
10 Downing Street
London WC1
England

30th November, 1993

Dear Mr Major,

This being Saint Andrew’s Day, may I bring to your attention a matter of concern to many people in Scotland which you, in your capacity as chief executive of the Crown, should be able to resolve both justly and quickly.

On 6th November 1993 I wrote to the Scottish police concerning the theft of the Scottish Coronation Stone and a Chief Superintendent of the Tayside Police replied on 11th November that there would be no investigation of this theft. (Copies of the correspondence are enclosed).

Now although I can understand you thinking that this is a somewhat belated complaint, I must assure you that this stone is something dear to the hearts of the Scottish People and there seems to be no legal justification for denying them the return of what is unquestionably their legitimate property – were it not so, the persons responsible for trying to recover the stone in 1950 would surely have been charged with theft, which did not happen.

However, it could be said from one perspective that they had taken the law into their own hands and I must assure you that I have no intention of doing so. Since seeing the publication of your Justice Charter for Scotland, I am encouraged to pursue the matter through the proper channels, previously unavailable to us. I was particularly heartened by the affirmations on page 5 regarding `public expectations’, where it states that “The People of Scotland can expect their police `to detect offenders and report them promptly to the Procurator Fiscal’ and `to act without fear, favour or prejudice’. You will therefore understand my dismay and confusion when Mr Mackay’s letter came back with your Charter Mark on it, yet failing to fulfil these promises.

I would therefore urge you to rectify this blatant disregard for the principles and detail of your charter and I would further call upon you to honour the Treaty of Northampton of 1328, an instrument of which was that `The stone on which the Kings of Scots were wont to sit at their coronation, and which had been carried away by Edward I, should be restored to the Scots.’ I believe it reflects badly on all nations of the British Isles if England so obviously dishonours an international treaty. If England needs a coronation stone as such, I believe there is a West Saxon coronation stone, which would be historically more appropriate, standing in a circle of iron railings in Kingston-upon Thames High Street, and whose employment would be more celebrated than resented.

I cannot guarantee canonisation, but I assure you that you would earn your place in Scottish history as a Prime Minister who had demonstrated justness and wisdom toward the People of Scotland.

Yours faithfully

Robbie the Pict

Dear Mr Pict,

The Prime Minister has asked me to thank you for your recent letter which is receiving attention. A reply will be sent to you as soon as possible.

More than a month goes by. A little reminder is apparently required.

To: The Prime Minister

12th January, 1994

Dear Mr Major,

Thank you for the courteous acknowledgement of receipt of my letter of the 30th of November last year.

However I must draw your attention to the fact that more than a month has elapsed since the penning of that communication and to date there has been no further elucidation of the Crown Executive’s position regarding this considerable `affair of state’.

I urge you not to underestimate the public interest in Scotland in securing justice in this matter.

Yours faithfully.

Robbie the Pict

From: The Scottish Office
Management, Organisation and Industrial Relations Division
EDINBURGH

13 January 1994

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter of 30 November 1993 to the Prime Minister regarding the Scottish Coronation Stone. Your letter has been passed to The Scottish Office and I have been asked to reply.

You enclosed with your letter copies of your correspondence with the Tayside Police regarding the Stone and your belief that it was stolen from the Palace of Scone in 1296. It would appear that the Police do not believe an offence has taken place. Neither the Prime Minister nor the Secretary of State has power to direct the Police in the investigation of offences, which is the responsibility of the Lord Advocate and the Procurator Fiscal.

With regard to the present siting of the Stone you may be interested to know that in 1951 following the Stone’s return to Westminster Abbey the Government of the day considered carefully where it should be kept. In view of the Stone’s association with the Coronations the conclusion reached was that it should remain with the Coronation Chair in Westminster Abbey. It is felt that the presence of the Stone of Destiny at Westminster is a potent and continuing reminder of Scotland’s distinctive place within the United Kingdom.

Yours faithfully

M NEALE

Desperate twisting of the Police response. Clutching at straws. Are the Police happy with this interpretation? Why does the Chief Executive of the Crown have no power to direct his own political appointee? A potent and continuing reminder indeed.

To: The Chief Superintendent
Tayside Police
Perth

13 April 1994

Dear Mr Mackay,

Thank you for your letter of 11th November, 1993, which I read with interest. Obviously a matter of such significance to the People of Scotland is not respectfully served by a two-line dismissal from a policeman so the subject was then raised with the gentleman who was responsible for introducing your `charter’ scheme. (Enc. 1).

He, in turn, referred the matter to the Scottish Office (Enc. 2) but this response puts a very different slant on the matter. The critical sentence is, of course, “It would appear that the Police do not believe an offence has taken place.” Quite understandably, the Scotsman of January 26th reported this as the Tayside Police officially ruling `no theft’ after almost 700 years. However, this spurious interpretation of your original response is compounded in its obfuscation by a declaration of impotency to direct the police, which, although legally appropriate to Scotland, makes a mockery of any type of redress of grievance through citation of chartered promises. This puts the ball firmly back in your court and your position badly needs clarification.

I would understand from your letter that you were wilfully refusing to conduct an enquiry, despite a complaint from a member of the public, but you were not identifying the reason(s) for your refusal. You are, of course, entitled to think that the enquiry is time-barred, frivolous, political or whatever and the People would just have to work from there. The reply from the Scottish Office, however, goes further than that and credits you with a professional evaluation, namely “no offence has taken place”. They also seem happy to stand behind this dubiously constructed barricade and thus justify a complete failure to adequately respond to a wholly legitimate complaint. I believe that these same `authorities’ would be quick to advise people to `go through the proper channels’.

Therefore, in pursuit of the proper channel, I must ask you if you accept the interpretation which has been credited to you by the Scottish Office. As a Chief Superintendent of the Tayside Police are you content to go on record as saying to the People of Scotland that as regards the question of the alleged theft of the Stone of Destiny from Scone Palace it is your belief that no offence has taken place?

If you are not content to be thus credited I invite you to clarify your position. Many thanks for your time and considerations.

Yours sincerely,

Robbie the Pict.

Dear Sir

Thank you for your letter of 13 April 1994, with enclosures.

I note your detailed views on the matter and your comments in the penultimate paragraph. I wish to draw your attention to the fact that my only comment on the subject was contained in my letter to you dated 11 November 1993. Again I must advise you that there is no intention of conducting an enquiry of the nature suggested.

Yours faithfully

J A MACKAY

Thank you Chief Superintendent. I thought that was what you said. Let’s draw this shabby sophistry to the attention of the man on whose behalf it purports to be written.

To: The Prime Minister
LONDON
England.

April 25th, 1994.

Dear Mr Major,

I wrote to you on November 30th, 1993, concerning the theft of the Scottish Coronation Stone by the King of England in 1296. You forwarded my letter to your office in Scotland and I have since received a reply dated January 13th, 1994, from an `M. Neale’, whose function is not identified, of the `Management, Organisation and Industrial Relations Division’. Belying the spirit of chartered accountability, the author of this letter justifies his stone-walling of the question in two equally repulsive and unprincipled fashions.

Firstly, he interprets Chief Superintendent Mackay’s reply as the Police not believing that an offence has taken place. Aside of being manipulative buck-passing, this looks like deceitful interpretation only and one must ask why, of all the possible reasons that might exist for Mr Mackay’s advice that there is no intention of conducting any enquiry, M. Neale chooses this particular one. One must point out to M. Neale that Mr Mackay employs the present tense and in the same way that a Government Minister says that he cannot foresee any circumstances in which he would be involved in a leadership challenge, one is obliged to point out that things can change. However, the writer goes on to compound this sad sophistry by suggesting that the responsibility for investigation lies with the Lord Advocate and the Procurator Fiscal, as they would now seem to be obliged to do without fear or favour, never mind under Scottish legal procedure.

A second fetid odour from this reply arises when M. Neale writes that the present location of the Stone is `a potent and continuing reminder of Scotland’s distinctive place within the United Kingdom’. Having previously identified the English king’s motive of deliberately placing the Stone underneath the throne of England as a perhaps more potent reminder of the Kingdom of Scotland being `conquered and resigned’ I confess to not knowing whether this comment is determined ignorance or malicious sarcasm. Either way, I consider it to be highly offensive to the Scottish People and it takes no account of what their wishes might be concerning the re-siting of the Stone after the last attempt to return it to its lawful owners.

Following the new proper channel indicated by M. Neale, I will alert both the Lord Advocate and the local Procurator Fiscal to the inactivity of the chartered Police but I feel that you could simplify and shorten the proceedings considerably if, in your capacity as Chief Executive, you were to instruct the appropriate people to do the proper thing, according to your Justice Charter if not simply common decency or even Scottish Common Law.

Although M. Neale claims that you do not have this power, it would be more pragmatic to accept that the powers of Walpole’s unconstitutional creation, the office of Prime Minister, prevail at least over its employees as long as Scotland is subjected to the alien burden of English parliamentary sovereignty. You must enjoy both a legal and moral right to be able to honour your charters in the meanwhile.

I enclose copies of my recent correspondence with Chief Superintendent Mackay.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your further letter of 25 April to the Prime Minister concerning the Scottish Coronation Stone. Your letter has been passed to the Scottish Office and your comments have been noted.

This reply came in an envelope which was franked to give a new local-rate telephone number for the Scottish Office, seeming to invite the people to call directly and get straight answers to straight questions. I found out later that the public, perhaps jaundiced with chronic cynicism, never used the service but I thought I would try it anyway. Within a few moments the said Mrs Melrose became very uncomfortable and eventually confessed that she didn’t know anything about the constitution and she had no qualifications in Law. ‘Passed to the Scottish Office’ turned out to mean only that it had arrived in her office and the sum total of her action on behalf of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on a significant affair of state was to note my comments. Grossly inadequate attitude, blending smug ignorance with imperial arrogance. Beginning to replicate the ‘Homo Sovieticus’ mentality which I had wrestled with for a year in post-Soviet Estonia.

Dear Sir

I refer to your recent telephone conversation with Mrs Melrose during which you asked for a more substantive response to your letter of 25 April to the Prime Minister than that given in Mrs Melrose’s letter of 9 May.

There is in fact little that can be added to what was said in my letter of 13 January which was issued in response to your earlier letter of 30 November 1993 to the Prime Minister. The Tayside Police have now on 2 occasions informed you that they have no intention of conducting any enquiry of the nature as suggested by you. The Prime Minister, as I said in my letter of 13 January cannot direct the police to carry out an investigation:- that as you know is a matter for the Lord Advocate and the Procurator Fiscal.

With regard to the present siting of the Stone, I assure you that the remarks made in my letter of 13 January were not in any way meant to be offensive or sarcastic. They were simply a statement of the reasons that lay behind the decision made by the government of the day in 1951 to keep the Stone at Westminster. They should not therefore be interpreted as being a comment on the view held by yourself and others that the Stone should be situated elsewhere. The sincerity and strength of your views on this subject is fully recognised.

Finally, I understand from Mrs Melrose that you are unhappy that your letters have not received a personal reply from the Prime Minister. May I explain that the Prime Minister receives many thousands of letters from members of the public each week covering a wide range of subjects. In these circumstances it is not possible, as I am sure you will agree, for each letter to receive a personal reply from the Prime Minister or to be dealt with by his office. Most letters therefore are quickly passed to the department responsible for the subject matter of the letter to consider and issue a reply.

Yours sincerely

Dear Sir,

I enclose copies of correspondence relevant to the pursuit of justice in the question of the theft of the Coronation Stone of Scotland from Scone Abbey, in your jurisdiction, in 1296.

As you can see, the Scottish Office has identified your office twice as the proper channel through which to pursue this matter.

This letter is thus a formal request that you arrange the recovery of the Coronation Stone, under the terms of the Treaty of Northampton/Edinburgh of 1328 if necessary, or, if you feel that you do not have the authority to recover this type of stolen property from a place as politically sensitive as England, please forward this complaint to the Lord Advocate for Scotland. The responsibility must lie somewhere or the Justice Charter is a worthless insult to our intelligence.

I thank you for your time and considerations.

Your Majesty,

I regret to say that I have to write to Your Majesty as a last resort in an attempt to secure justice regarding the retrieval of the Stone of Destiny, unlawfully removed from Scone Abbey in 1296.

Given that, on the last two occasions on which persons have tried to recover the property they have been treated as criminals, I decided to present the argument for the just and proper return of stolen property on paper and pursue justice through `the proper channels’. (I enclose the relevant correspondence).

In short, the government’s Justice Charter for Scotland is proved worthless in that there is no intention to investigate `without fear or favour’ and, in truth, I will be pleasantly surprised if you yourself actually exert your personal authority on this question, even when you are personally involved, I have become used to a bland reply from a robotic civil servant in the `Scottish’ Office.

However, I try to continue to believe in justice as a fundamental principle of civilisation so I have to ask you, on behalf of myself and the other people of Scotland, to instruct the appropriate authorities to return this piece of property to Scotland where it must be held in public trust until the people decide what they want to do with it.

Buckingham Palace

4th November, 1994.

Dear Mr. Pict,

I am commanded by The Queen to thank you for your letter of 23rd October about the Stone of Destiny.

Her Majesty appreciates receiving views and comments from the many people who write to her, and your particular letter has been carefully noted. I should perhaps add, though, that while The Queen has a duty and a right to express her views to her Government, her position as a constitutional Sovereign also requires Her Majesty to act on the advice of her Ministers. The Queen would not, therefore, intervene publicly in matters such as the one you have raised, where responsibility rests with Ministers. As you have already received a reply from the Scottish Office, Her Majesty is unable to help you further.

Yours sincerely,

(SIMON GIMSON)

Her Majesty would appear to be standing on the stool of monarchial privilege only available to her in her capacity as Queen of England. Fine, as we always suspected she was as heart, but will she be drawn on this?

Buckingham Palace
LONDON
England

31 March 1995

Your Majesty,

Thank you for your letter of 4 November 1994, the contents of which I have now had the chance to evaluate.

Your reply is of great interest because it identifies what you believe to be your constitutional position, that of acting primarily and fundamentally as the Queen of England. It is understood that, technically speaking, there has been no such entity as the Queen of England or the country or Kingdom of England since 1707, or even of Great Britain since 1800, but nonetheless the People of England seem to think of you as their queen first and foremost, and they are to a great extent followed by the world in this respect. A Queen of Scots, within the terms of our cultural tradition, would have had the constitutional authority to challenge the illegal imposition of the ‘Poll Tax’ in Scotland one year prior to its application in England. This enactment remains a clear breach of Article 18 of the Treaty of Union.

Failure to defend the People of Scotland against their being used for political experimentation was to bow entirely to the English Bill of Rights of 1689, and its shifting of sovereignty from monarch to parliament (an act prior to the Treaty of Union and irrelevant to Scotland). To allow yourself to be described as a ‘constitutional Sovereign’ essentially subject to the ‘advice of her Ministers’ is to adopt the traditional stance of only the Queen of England. This point is made not to be critical but simply to illustrate the constitutional impossibility of wedding the helms of incompatible ships. People in Scotland who have resisted the Poll Tax are being hounded for payment under threat of the public sale of their household effects. This is done in the name of ‘the Crown’ which is the symbol of Westminster authority. A Queen of Scots could not allow this to happen to her People.

On the specific question of the Stone of Scone, our Coronation Stone, your reply refers me, on a constitutional basis, back to ministerial level, a place from which neither justice nor satisfaction has been forthcoming, but this course of action is only appropriate under English Law. Under Scots Law there is no statute of limitation on the crimes of theft and reset of stolen property and both yourself as the person claimed by the Dean of Westminster to be the owner and the Very Reverend Michael Mayne as ‘custodier’ in Westminster Abbey, are open to the latter charge regarding the Stone of Scone. There is no immunity from prosecution available to the monarch in Scotland. Our tradition is to be a democratic sovereignty within the Law, as even King Robert the Bruce found out to his cost in a Highland court.

It is pointless returning to the Crown ministers or their constables who have clearly displayed their dereliction of duty as regards the recovery of Sovereign Scottish property. The impression given is that they would only respond to a Royal decree. If an appeal to the monarch is equally fruitless, and with the stone being essentially the property of the People, the only remaining course of action is for the matter to be presented to the Scottish Public at large. It must be remembered that 1996 would bring 700 years of English possession of our Coronation Stone and the pride of many Scots will find that prospect unethical and unpalatable.

Regretfully, I am not aware of any surviving coronation stone which can be creditably connected to the history of the Angles, but there is an apparently genuine Saxon coronation stone in Kingston upon Thames High Street. Given that you are clearly in a position to return our Stone without ministerial interference, may I suggest that it is commanded to be placed in the A.K. Bell Public Library in Perth, in trust for the People of Scotland, until such time as the People decide what they want to do with it. By that action the terms of the Treaty of Northampton would be honoured.

Yours faithfully,

Robbie the Pict

10 May 1995

Your Majesty,

Having received no reply to my letter of the 31st of March, I must assume that you are adhering to the constitutional position which you identified in your letter of 4th of November.

As I stated in my last letter I have no faith in the Crown’s Westminster operatives and I am confident that justice would not be served by repeating myself to them. It is clear for all to see that there is no intention of honouring the pledge made in the Justice Charter for Scotland, that crime will be prosecuted without fear or favour, and instead we experience a stark refusal to act at all. It would appear that even the Procurator Fiscal, who did at least make an attempt to place the matter in front of persons responsible, is subject to an insidious political control.

It is further clear for all to see that the Kingdom of England, who-ever is now its sovereign director, has no intention of honouring the terms of the Treaty of Northampton, particularly in regard to recognising the Kingdom of Scotland’s sovereign independence and our right to have our Coronation Stone returned.

Given the clarification of the English Crown positions, and given that all recognisable avenues of redress of grievance have been neutered by the enforcement of Westminster parliamentary sovereignty, it is left to a Scottish commoner to speak on behalf of the clear majority of the People of Scotland who consider themselves to be the true inheritors of the Stone of Scone, as opposed to the English Crown.

I must hereby ask that Your Majesty commands that “the stone on which the Kings of Scots were wont to sit at their coronation, and which had been carried away by Edward 1”, and which the same treaty said “should be restored to the Scots”, be finally returned to Scotland. I must further request that the Stone of Destiny is transported to Letham Village Hall in Angus by midnight on the 19th of May, 1995, in time for the celebration of Dunnichen Day. The 1310th Anniversary of the Battle of Nechtansmere is, of course, on Saturday the 20th of May.

I wish to assure Your Majesty of my total respect for your position as Head of the British Commonwealth, a sentiment I believe to be held by all decent and reasonable people in Scotland, no matter how determined they are that the Kingdom of Scotland should again enjoy its right to sovereign independence and self-determination.

Yours faithfully,

PICTISH FREE STATE PRESS RELEASE
RETURN OF THE STONE OF DESTINY – FIRST ASKING

In November 1993 a campaign was begun to secure the return of the Scottish Coronation Stone by ‘going through the proper channels’. The theft of the Stone was therefore reported to the local police but they refused to conduct any enquiry. Similar stonewalling was displayed by the offices of the Secretary of State for Scotland, the Prime Minister, the Lord Advocate for Scotland and the Queen of the United Kingdom. In our view, the only proper response was from the Procurator Fiscal in Perth who forwarded the papers to the Lord Advocate.

In her reply, the Queen has identified government ministers as those responsible for resolving such issues, however she has since been made aware that under Scots Common Law she would be open to arraignment on charges of resetting stolen property, as would her ‘custodier’, the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, Dean of Westminster Abbey. There is no statute of limitations in Scots Law for the crimes of theft or receiving stolen property: nor can the receiver ever acquire title to an item of stolen property.

As regards ‘taking stock’ in Scotland, government ministers have totally failed to get anywhere near ‘basics’ on the longest standing ‘law and order’ issue between the two kingdoms.

The Stone of Destiny is the symbol of the sovereignty of the People of Scotland and as we approach the real likelihood of the return of the Scottish Parliament, it is proper that the touchstone of statehood is again within the borders of our ancient kingdom.

As instigator of this initiative, I have asked to Queen to organise the return of the Stone of Destiny to Letham Village Hall in Angus, by midnight on Friday, the 19th of May, the eve of Dunnichen Day. This year is the 1310th anniversary of the Battle of Nechtansmere, a rout of the expansionist Ecgfrith and his Angles by King Brude of the Picts.

In the event of the Stone not being returned, other civil forms of campaign will be pursued. In the event of the return of the Stone at any time or in any circumstances, we advocate its placement in the Public Library at Perth, a city which we have previously proposed as the new legislative capital.

Given that the parliamentary representative for Perth and Kinross has not yet been chosen, we feel that candidates for this post can best demonstrate which master they intend to serve by answering ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question; ‘If you were elected, would you lead a campaign for the return of the Stone of Destiny to its home neighbourhood in Scotland?’. We invite supporters of unionist parties whose party loyalty is compromised by this question to abstain in favour of a full- choice referendum concerning the nature of the Scottish Parliament.

Dear Mr Pict,

Thank you for your letters of 31st March and 10th May.

As I have said in the past, The Queen much appreciates receiving views and comments from the many people who write to her. Your particular letters concerning the Stone of Destiny have been very carefully noted and I am to thank you again for writing.

Decided to change tack and in my capacity as Secretary of Clan Robertson, an activist wing of the Clan Donnachaidh Society wrote to Raymond and George Robertson. The Stone question was tagged on to the rear of what looked like the serious contemporary political question, the request for a judicial review of the Treaty of Union.

Clan Robertson
County of Perth

Dear Mr Robertson,

This organisation is committed to the restoration of the Kingdom of Scotland’s right to act as a self-determining nation.

To this end, we propose a judicial review of the Acts of Union of 1706 and 1707 and support the campaign for the return of the Stone of Destiny to the County of Perth.

Given that yours is one of the voices which must speak for and defend the sovereign rights of the People of Scotland in the parliament of Westminster, can we count on you to give your support to these proposals?

NOTE: At this point the letters differed.

Variation 1. to Raymond R. We note with appreciation that your party, along with the Green Party pressure group, is the only party in Scotland which acknowledges Scotland’s right to absolute independence, free of any preconditions which might oblige the People of Scotland into any other form of union.

Variation 2. to George R. We note that even as a Robertson you serve a unionist party based in the English capital. Your party’s policy towards questions of Scotland’s future seems to consistently dictate to the People without any respect for their wishes. Do you not think that a Constitutional Convention should have allowed for the possibility of the sovereign People wishing to consider absolute Independence? Before you force or foist your parliament on the People would it not be prudent to hold a Scottish Labour Party referendum, prior to any General Election, which included the consideration of full independence. This would both elicit the opinion of your own party membership, which might not be as favourable to control by Westminster as your own, and save any ill-judged or presumptious pronouncements on what the People of Scotland might want.

Yours sincerely,

R.T.P.Robertson
Secretary.

House of Commons
LONDON

June 28th 1995

Dear Mr Robertson,

Thank you for your letter of June 20th. As a proud Scot, I too care deeply about Scotland. That is why I have absolutely no intention of supporting your campaign.

Scotland is thriving as a full and equal partner in the United Kingdom. She is a self-confident and successful nation and has prospered through the Union. I could list a set of statistics to support this case, for example the fact that Scotland exports more per head of population than Japan. I will content myself with pointing out that Scotland after almost 300 years of Union is far more prosperous, innovative and diverse than it was pre 1707.

I will instead ask you one simple question. If Scotland were to become independent, how would you propose to balance the £8 billion deficit which Scotland would face? The figure of £8 billion is not merely a piece of political propaganda. Rather it is the considered view of the House of Commons Library, the independent Fraser of Allander Institute and the Scottish Office. The panacea solution usually offered by nationalists to the deficit problem is that of oil revenues. The harsh fact is that even if Scotland were to receive the total UK Oil revenue (a highly unlikely scenario), then Scotland would still face a spending shortfall of £6.7 billion every year.

I am not sure whether your intention is to paint all those who refuse to support your campaign as unpatriotic Scots. Let me be quite clear. I am Scottish. I am proud to be Scottish and as a patriot I want what is best for Scotland. That is why I will continue to put the case strongly for the Union.

Yours sincerely,

Raymond S. Robertson MP

This man needs psychiatric help! He also demonstrates an abysmal grasp of the basics of International Law. Under such cannons a nation is a unit of personality in law and as such has the universally recognised right of self-determination. Thatcher for example would never admit that Scotland was a nation unless it tried to fill its boots. She only ever conceded that ‘Scotland was, along with Wales and Northern Ireland, an integral part of the United Kingdom’. Note the omission of England.

House of Commons
LONDON

30 June 1995

Dear Mr Robertson

Thank you for your letter of 20 June but no you cannot count on my support for these proposals.

I think that judicial review of an Act of Union is a waste of money and time. If there are people in Scotland who wish for a separate Scottish state then they can vote for the separatist party. In its sixty year history it has never managed to gain anything like a majority of the Scottish people.

I appreciate the politeness of your request but cannot feel any sympathy for the cause you are promoting. I am committed to the future of Scotland and making it a strong and vibrant country with its own Parliament firmly inside the United Kingdom. I believe that is what the vast majority of the people of Scotland want and I see it as my historic responsibility to deliver that. Best wishes.

Yours sincerely

St Andrew’s House

4 August 1995

Dear Mr Robertson

Thank you for your letter of 14 July regarding the right of the Scottish people to self determination and related matters.

On the question of self-determination I can confirm that the Government’s view, which has been expressed on a number of occasions by the Prime Minister, is that no Nation can be held irrevocably in a Union against its will. If, therefore, parties supporting independence received the majority of support in Scotland at a future General Election Parliament would need to consider whether to take legislative action. Ultimately, any decision on independence for Scotland could only be taken by Parliament.

I note that Clan Robertson proposes a judicial review of the Acts of Union of 1706 and 1707. That must be a matter for your organisation but I certainly would not offer any support for such a move. I would say that the Treaty of Union which was ratified by these Acts was by any standpoint a remarkable achievement in that it was entered into voluntarily by two Parliaments. What, perhaps is more remarkable is the fact that these Acts remain in force today, nearly 300 years later, as a basic legal framework for the Union of Scotland and England. Under this framework Scotland’s distinctiveness as a Nation has been safeguarded and enhanced whilst at the same time Scotland has benefited from having economic prosperity, security and real influence in the wider world. All of this and more has been achieved through the Union and I strongly believe that we should continue to build on the opportunities that the Union gives Scotland rather than contemplate breaking up the partnership.

Finally I note your organisation’s support for the return of the Stone of Destiny to Scotland. Since it was returned to Westminster Abbey in 1951, successive Governments have taken the view that it should remain there as a reminder of Scotland’s place in the Union. It is an issue however that does raise strong and sincere feelings in many Scots, and I am conscious of that.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Forsyth.

Calls Scotland a Nation with a capital. Weak on constitutional points. Treaty cannot be ratified by Acts which precede it. The ‘treaty’ is entirely notional and has never been ratified. Demonstrates chronic kindergarten mentality onb the question of nationhood and seems to forget that Edward 1 put the Stone UNDER the English throne deliberately. Less treasonous than Raymond Robertson on the question of the Stone’s return.

Letter to Alex Salmond was as per the Robertsons but the variation in the final paragraph ran:

We thank you for your time and consideration, but also have to ask if your chosen political party would give consideration to outright independence, as opposed to another union, should the People so chose?

The Member of Parliament for Banff and Buchan

Dear R T P Robertson,

Thank you for your letter of 14 July.

The Scottish National Party supports the doctrine of the sovereignty of the Scottish people, and quite clearly it will be up to the people to decide the relationship an independent Scotland would have to various international bodies, such as the EU.

I recently wrote an article for the Herald newspaper in which I called for among other things, the return of the Stone of Destiny to Scotland, and so wish you well in your own campaign.

I believe that he is holding, on behalf of The Queen, an item stolen in Scotland from the Abbey in Scone, namely a coronation stone, property of the sovereign People of Scotland.

Although I believe The Queen is arraignable as potentially guilty of resetting stolen property, she has the protection of English constitutional immunity and has already claimed it in correspondence concerning this matter. She thus rejects the tenets of Scots common law.

Dear Mr Forsyth,

I have been engaged for over two years in going through the ‘proper channels’ to secure the return of a property of the sovereign People of Scotland, namely the Stone of Scone, also known as the ‘Stone of Destiny’.

Her Majesty the Queen of England makes it quite plain that this is a question for her ministers and thus directly and specifically for you.

As one of the sovereign People of Scotland I must formally ask you to request the return of this stolen property in fulfilment of the terms of the 1328 Treaty of Northampton. The stone is, of course, a litmus test of Scottishness and its denial is a denial of the country, the people, the flag and the sovereignty of Scotland. Your tenure of the office of Secretary of State for Scotland, not to Scotland, encourages me to hope that you will choose which master it is proper and loyal to serve, the alternative being a temptation to treasonous conduct.

Considering that the £4 admission charge on top of the considerable expense of travelling from anywhere in Scotland to the south of England is unfair to the People of Scotland who might wish to view their Coronation Stone and,

Noting that 700 years have elapsed since the theft of the Stone in 1296 by the English King Edward 1 and that the Stone is long overdue for return, especially since this was promised by international constitutional contract in the Treaty of Northampton in 1328,

This Trust feels that the Stone of Destiny ought morally and practically to be returned to Scotland, initially to the Isle of Skye, where it would be displayed to the better financial advantage of the People of Scotland and with considerably more dignity.

TO THIS END, WE HEREBY OFFER THE SUM OF A QUARTER OF A MILLION POUNDS STERLING TO THE PEOPLE OF ENGLAND, TO DO WITH AS THEY CHOOSE, FOR THE RETURN OF THE SCOTTISH CORONATION STONE OF SCONE, KNOWN AS THE STONE OF DESTINY AND CURRENTLY LOCATED UNDER THE MONARCH OF ENGLAND’S THRONE IN WESTMINSTER ABBEY, LONDON, ENGLAND.

THIS OFFER WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR A PERIOD OF TEN DAYS ONLY, FROM NOON ON THE 26TH DAY OF MARCH 1996 UNTIL NOON ON THE 5TH DAY OF APRIL 1996, THE EVE OF SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE DAY.

The Sketis Heritage Trust, a consortium of five persons with business interests and who live on the Isle of Skye, is an apolitical and unaligned organisation formed solely for the purpose of facilitating the return of the Scottish Coronation Stone, an utterly Scottish cultural and historical artefact. In the event of the Stone being properly returned to the Scottish People as a result of financial arrangements made by the Trust, the Trust proposes to the People that it is permitted to place the Stone on public display in a series of locations, firstly on the Isle of Skye and thereafter throughout the whole of Scotland, where an admission charge of not more than one pound sterling would be payable. It is further proposed that the touring of the Stone be allowed to continue until such time as any purchase price and operational costs have been met. When these matters have been settled the Trust proposes that the Stone is returned to the People of Scone in the County of Perth, Scotland.

The Trust confirms that Robbie the Pict, founder of the Pictish Free State, a legal pressure group which holds land on the Isle of Skye on behalf of the People of Scotland, is authorised to speak and negotiate on behalf of the Trust ad interim. He is in possession of legal affirmations which guarantee the sum offered but has undertaken not to reveal the identity of trustees until the legitimate and competent English agent is identified. Thank you.

TREATY OF YORK, EDINBURGH AND NORTHAMPTON, 1328/29

This parliament met at York on the 1st of March, 1328, and the grand point of dispute was then conceded, that Robert Bruce should be acknowledged as king of Scotland, and that Scotland itself should be recognised as a free kingdom for ever.

The instrument of renunciation was worded as follows:- “Whereas we, and others of our predecessors, kings of England, have endeavoured to obtain a right of dominion and superiority over the kingdom of Scotland, and have thereby been the cause of long and grievous wars between the two kingdoms; we, therefore, considering the numerous slaughters, sins, and bloodshed, the destruction of churches, and other evils brought upon the inhabitants of both kingdoms by such wars, and the many advantages which would accrue to the subjects of both realms, if, by the establishment of a firm and perpetual peace, they were secured against all rebellious designs, have, by the assent of the prelates, barons, and commons of our kingdom, in parliament assembled, granted, and hereby do grant, for us, and our heirs and successors, whatsoever, that the kingdom of Scotland shall remain for ever to the magnificent prince and lord Robert, by the grace of God, the illustrious king of Scots, our ally and dear friend, and to his heirs and successors, free, entire and unmolested, separated from the kingdom of England by its respective marches, as in the time of Alexander king of Scotland, of good memory, of late deceased, without any subjection, servitude, claim, or demand whatsoever.

And we hereby renounce and convey to the said king of Scotland, his heirs and successors, whatever right we, or our ancestors in times past, have laid claim to in any way over the kingdom of Scotland. And by these same presents we renounce and declare void, for ourselves and our heirs and successors, all obligations, agreements, or treaties whatsoever, touching the subjection of the kingdom of Scotland, and the inhabitants thereof, entered into between our predecessors and any of the kings thereof, or their subjects, whether clergy or laity. And if there shall anywhere be found any letters, charters, muniments, or public instruments, which shall have been framed touching the said obligations, agreements, or compacts, we declare that they shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.

And, in order to the fulfilment of these premises, and to the faithful observation thereof, in all time coming, we have given full power and special authority to our faithful and well-beloved cousin, Henry de Percy, and to William le Zouche of Ashby, to take oath upon our soul, for the performance of the same. In testimony whereof we have given this our letter patent, at York, on the 1st of March, in the second year of our reign, by the king himself and his council in parliament.”

After a full renunciation of sovereignty like this, the object of all Bruce’s efforts for so many years, the terms of a peace were soon arranged. This peace was concluded at Edinburgh on the 17th of March, 1328, and it was confirmed on the part of England in a parliament held at Northampton on the 4th of May following. It was to be cemented by a marriage between prince David of Scotland, then five years old, and the princess Joane of England, who was two years his senior.

The two kings engaged to assist each other against all enemies, always saving to the king of Scots his ancient alliance with the king of France; and each engaged not to give any aid to the rebel subjects of the other. All writings and documents relating to the attempt to establish a feudal superiority over Scotland were to be sought up and sent to the king of Scots, and the English king was to assist Bruce in obtaining at the court of Rome a recall of the sentence of excommunication.

On the part of the king of Scotland it was covenanted that certain English barons who had been deprived of their lands in Scotland should be restored; and, in further consideration of this advantageous treaty, Bruce was to pay to the English government twenty thousand pounds sterling within three years, at three separate terms. It was further stipulated, in a separate instrument, that the fatal stone of Scone, which had been carried away from Scotland by Edward I., should be sent back.

The populace of London rose tumultuously when they heard of the terms of the treaty, and proceeding in a riotous manner to Westminster, declared their intention of hindering the stone, one of the glorious trophies of the first Edward, from being carried away.

All the above from Thomas Wright’s History of Scotland, Edinburgh 1874.

The Treaty of Northampton was so unpopular in England that it was simply removed from their national records, an action such as would receive the whole-hearted approval of Stalin. The Scottish Coronation Stone was not mentioned in the treaty itself, but, in a ‘separate instrument’, it was stipulated that ‘the stone on which the Kings of Scots were wont to sit at their coronation, and which had been carried away by Edward 1’ should be restored to the Scots.

PRESS RELEASE 5 APRIL, 1996 SKETIS HERITAGE TRUST, ISLE OF SKYE
FORMAL PURCHASE OFFER for the STONE OF DESTINY

By the end of the 10 day set period, noon today, no competent authority has stepped forward on behalf of the People of England to accept the sum of £250,000. It is unclear to the Trust whether that is because the amount offered is not sufficient, no-one dares to identify themselves as claiming ownership of the Stone, there is no longer a democratic forum through which the People of England can speak or that the People have simply not been made sufficiently aware of the offer.

To counter these difficulties it is the intention of the Trust to target the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, with the specific question of ownership.

It is a further intention of the Trust to approach the Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, to act as a Cultural Ambassador in this matter, specifically to negotiate with the authorities in England on behalf of the People of England for the purpose of securing the sum offered in exchange for the Stone and subsequently managing or placing the resultant charitable fund.

It is a further intention of the Trust to reproduce the relevant extracts from the Treaty of Northampton of 1328.

The Trust has undertaken to actively explore the possibility of increasing the amount offered and possibly the number of trustees.

These matters are expected to take some time and given that the attention of the People of Skye will be focused on the first trial for non-payment on April 11 and the matter of raising a defence fund to counter the denial of legal aid, the Trust feels that it can make no substantial statement on this matter until Sunday the 5th of May.

The Trust would like to thank the members of the Press who did have the independence and integrity of mind to carry the story and it feels sure that there will be interesting developments by May 5th.

Dear Princess Diana,

As you may be aware through media reportage, the SKETIS HERITAGE TRUST has been formed by five Skye residents who, extremely concerned at the effect on the vital Tourist Trade of toll charge of £37.50 each way for a tour bus, wish to bring the Stone of Scone back to Scotland, initially to the Isle of Skye, where it would serve as a tourist attraction and hopefully compensate to some degree for the extortionate toll regime. (The toll for a car and caravan will be £10.40 each way from May 1st).

To this end the Trust has offered the People of England, whom we trust are close to your heart, the sum of £250,000 in exchange for the return of the Stone of Destiny to Scotland, but as the first period of offer closed on April 5th no communication had been forthcoming on behalf of the People of England and the Trust wondered if perhaps there was some difficulty in establishing a negotiating agent who might handle the English end of things.

The Trust has also a deep faith in the integrity and decency of the actual People of England. The Trust believes that if the English People become properly aware that the Stone was originally stolen by King Edward 1 in 1296 and that provision was made in a treaty between the two kingdoms to return ‘the stone on which the Kings of Scots were wont to sit’ (Treaty of Northampton 1328/9), then they would have no difficulty with the idea of the Stone returning to Scotland.

To this end the Trust would be honoured if you would accept the role of agent and negotiator on behalf of the People of England.

The Trust realises that this may turn out to be a matter of some delicacy but what good experience for someone aspiring to a full-blooded diplomatic post. There is a huge constitutional vacuum between England and Scotland at the level of the People. Admittedly the People of England were obliged out of their sovereign role by the 18th century Bill of Rights, while the People of Scotland retain their sovereign authority, but that should not prevent communication at a level of mutual respect if not on constitutional parity. The two peoples have doubtless much in common.

In practical terms the proposed office need not be very time consuming. The Stone is in Westminster Abbey and the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, Dean of Westminster must be in possession of at least useful information on the question of alleged ownership in England. If any difficulties arose on the topic of legal ownership a telephone call or fax to the Trust contact number would bring swift legal clarification from the Scottish perspective.

OWNERSHIP OF THE STONE OF SCONE

Dear Reverend Mayne,

By way of introduction, this letter is written on behalf of a consortium of five residents of Skye who have formed themselves into the SKETIS HERITAGE TRUST, whose sole and stated aim is to facilitate the return of the Stone of Scone to Scotland and ultimately to Scone itself, from where it was stolen.

To this end the Trust made an offer of £250,000 to the People of England for the Stone but at the end of the ten day offer period, no-one had come forward on behalf of the English People to negotiate for the available sum.

Given the current location of the Stone, the Trust inevitably must now ask you ‘Who do you consider to be the legal owner of the Stone of Scone at present, and is that claim of ownership under Scots or English Law?’

Given also the level of Scottish public interest in the question the Trust would be obliged if this aspect of the problem could be cleared up as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

PRESS RELEASE 5th MAY, 1996 SKETIS HERITAGE TRUST, ISLE OF SKYE
INCREASED PURCHASE OFFER for the STONE OF DESTINY

There having apparently been no-one prepared to negotiate on behalf of the People of England in order to secure the sum of £250,000 in exchange for the Stone of Destiny, this Trust approached H.R.H. The Princess of Wales with an invitation to mediate, but recently received a courteous declination although transmitting her ‘very best wishes’.

There having been no response from the abbey at Westminster, where a significant edition of the Stone is believed to be held on display, a letter was sent to the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, Dean of the abbey, asking ‘Who do you consider to be the legal owner of the Stone of Scone at present, and is that claim of ownership under Scots or English Law?’. To date there has been no reply but in fairness the Trust is aware of an affirmation to a distinguished member of the Press corps that the Dean has been very busy and a reply will be forthcoming.

There having been no respect accorded by the Crown-Miller Consortium to the request by the Highland Council not to proceed with the tourist season increments, and the return toll for a coach visiting Skye having been increased from £51 to £75 on the 1st of May, the worst fears of this Trust regarding tourist dissuasion are being realised.

In consideration of these matters, the Trust feels obliged to make the following announcement;

WE HEREBY OFFER THE SUM OF HALF A MILLION POUNDS STERLING TO THE PEOPLE OF ENGLAND, TO DO WITH AS THEY CHOOSE, FOR THE RETURN OF THE SCOTTISH CORONATION STONE OF SCONE, KNOWN AS THE STONE OF DESTINY AND CURRENTLY LOCATED UNDER THE MONARCH OF ENGLAND’S THRONE IN WESTMINSTER ABBEY, LONDON, ENGLAND.

THIS OFFER WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR A PERIOD OF TEN DAYS ONLY, FROM NOON ON THE 7TH DAY OF MAY 1996 UNTIL NOON ON THE 17TH DAY OF MAY 1996.

The Trust re-iterates its proposal to tour the Stone around Scotland with a viewing charge of not more than £1 sterling until such time as any purchase price and operational costs have been met, and then to return the Stone to the People of Scone in the County of Perth.

The Trust confirms that Robbie the Pict, founder of the Pictish Free State, the legal pressure group which holds land on the Isle of Skye on behalf of the People of Scotland, is authorised to speak and negotiate on behalf of the Trust ad interim. He is in possession of legal affirmations which guarantee the new sum offered but, as was previously stated, has undertaken not to reveal the identity of the trustees until a legitimate and competent English agent is identified.

The Trust gives notice of its intention to approach Glenn Hoddle Esq., coach-elect of the English football team, to act as intermediary on behalf of the People of England.

The Trust notes that the Isle of Skye PFI (Protesters’ Funding Initiative) has set a first target of £100,000 and reserves the right to make contributions.

Dear Mr Hoddle,

(The toll for a car and caravan is £10.40 each way).

To this end the Trust had offered the People of England, with whom you now have a direct relationship, the sum of £250,000 in exchange for the return of the Stone of Destiny to Scotland, but as the first period of offer closed on April 5th no communication had been forthcoming on behalf of the People of England and the Trust wondered if perhaps there was some difficulty in establishing a negotiating agent who might handle the English end of things.

The Trust would wish to re-iterate its deep faith in the integrity and decency of the actual People of England. The Trust believes that if the English People become properly aware that the Stone was originally stolen by King Edward 1 in 1296 and that provision was made in the Treaty of Northampton 1329/9 to return ‘the stone on which the Kings of Scots were wont to sit’, then they would have no difficulty with the idea of the Stone being returned to Scotland. The difficulty the Trust is experiencing, however, is in finding a prominent figure absolutely identified with, and who enjoys the trust and respect of, the People of England.

To this end the Trust would be honoured if you would accept the role of agent and negotiator on behalf of the People of England.

You should be aware that the sum offered for the return of the Stone has been increased to half a million pounds sterling, and that the offer is open until noon on May 17th, 1996.

Dear Reverend Mayne,

May I convey my best wishes.

I wrote to you on behalf of this Trust on the 10th of April, just over one month ago, concerning the question of who might be held to legally own the Stone of Scone, but as yet have received no reply.

We do understand that contemporary matters can give the illusion of being more pressing but must convey to you that in the opinion of this Trust the present in Scotland cannot be satisfactorily resolved into the future until the past has released its karmic tethers.

The Trust would also wish to advise you that it has increased the offer-price for the Stone to £500,000 sterling and that this offer is valid until noon this Friday, the 17th of May. Perhaps some of the unfortunates who were kept homeless by the practices of Westminster Council might appreciate a share of half a million pounds rather than being unwitting holders of three hundred-weights of the County of Perth’s calcerous freestone which is of no significance in their lives.

Dear Robbie the Pict,

Thank you for your further letter of 12 May. I am puzzled that you say you have received no reply as I wrote immediately and I enclose a copy of my letter dated 24 April. As the Abbey does not own the Stone of Scone, but simply holds it in trust for the nation, your offer of half-a-million pounds for it is irrelevant.

Thank you for your letter about the Stone of Scone. It only reached me yesterday as I have been away from London for ten days.

The answer to your question is that as the Stone of Scone is owned by the Crown, I would have thought the Crown’s claim to ownership is under English law, but that you would have to ask them direct. I guess the best approach might be via the Home Office. The Stone is certainly not owned by the Abbey, any more than the Coronation Chair or any of the other Royal artefacts. We simply provide a home for them.

I am interested to see, in Nigel Tranter’s foreword to Ian Hamilton’s A Touch of Treason, that he writes:

‘As for the Stone of Destiny, Ian admits that the stone may indeed not be the real one and although he went to so much trouble to abstract it from Westminster Abbey in 1950, I however, have no doubts that this one is a 700-year old fake, with which Edward I, Hammer of the Scots, was palmed off in 1296, the true Lia Faill being described by the ancient chroniclers as very different – perhaps ornately carved, of chair-height – indeed Scotland’s Marble Chair.’

(A paragraph is blanked out at this point. Perhaps he had wished me good luck in my quest and then felt embarrassed about it since in the interim the Press had been on to him about the increased offer).

Dear Sir,

I write at the suggestion of the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, Dean of Westminster, to whom I had made enquiries regarding the ownership of the Stone of Scone, also known as the Stone of Destiny.

As you can see from the copies (enclosed) of his replies, he believes that the Crown owns the Stone and the Abbey holds it in trust for the nation.

Since the Scottish Crown was suspended as a constitutional dynamic on 1 May, 1707, must we take ‘The Crown’ to mean the English Crown and should we accept that this view is reinforced by the comment of the Dean that he would have thought that the Crown’s claim to ownership would be under English Law.

You will understand that since Scotland preserves a distinct legal system, the question of just which Crown is claiming ownership is significant, and while there is no distinction in design between the English crown and the crown of the United Kingdom, if such a crown exists, it is important to establish whether or not we are dealing with the English Crown under English Law when it comes to the question of a Crown owning anything.

It would also be helpful if you agree that the Stone is held by the Abbey on behalf of the nation, if you would clarify which nation you understood that to be.

If perchance you do not recognise England or Scotland as nations and adhere to the concept of the united kingdoms being a nation, might you consider the Stone of Scone touring its country of origin so that the Scots are not obliged to spend huge sums on travel and accommodation, plus an admission charge of £4 to see what a significant number of them believe to be their Coronation Stone.

Many thanks for your time and consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Robbie the Pict

Dear Sir,

I wrote to you on 21st May asking for clarification of your perspective on whether you agree with the Very Reverend Michael Mayne, Dean of Westminster, when he opines that the Stone of Scone is owned by the Crown under English Law. I asked if you were able to clarify whether the Crown in question was the English Crown, if it was pretending to own something under English Law. I asked for which nation you thought the Stone was being held in trust. Finally I asked if you would consider releasing the Stone of Scone so that it might at least tour throughout the Kingdom of Scotland and be more reasonably accessible to the people who have a recognisable historical connection with it.

Having received no reply to those four questions to date, and after more than two years of patient enquiry being unable to identify any persona south of the border with a legally competent claim to ownership, and aware that the Crown of England and the Nation of England were annulled on 1st May, 1707, I must assert that any claim to ownership of the Stone of Scone by either the Crown of England or the Nation of England is a constitutional absurdity.

I must further assert that any pretended claim by the notionally united kingdoms is equally absurd since that concept did not manifest in its first form, Great Britain, until 411 years after the Stone was forcibly and illegally removed from Scotland. The present constitutional arrangement, the United Kingdom (inexplicably in the singular) enjoys an even less than absurd claim, it not having come into being until 504 years after the theft of the Stone from Scone.

In these circumstances the sovereign People of the Kingdom of Scotland are perfectly within their legal and constitutional rights to demand the immediate return of their Coronation Stone.

IF THIS IS NOT DONE AND THE TREATY OF NORTHAMPTON 1328/9 IS THUS NOT HONOURED BY NOON THIS FRIDAY, THE 14TH OF JUNE 1996, A STANDING REWARD OF £250,000 STERLING WILL COME INTO EFFECT AND WILL BE PAYABLE TO ANYONE WHO RETURNS THE SCOTTISH CORONATION STONE OF SCONE SAFELY TO THE ISLE OF SKYE.

I trust that your government will see the political folly of inviting accusations of both dishonour and criminality.

May I take this opportunity of wishing your country the best of luck in Euro ’96.

Dear Ms Clarke,

I must apologise for not being able to address you by your proper title but it has been omitted from your communication, for which I thank you.

There has been as yet no response from the Scottish Home and Health Department and I fail to understand in what way they might be able to shed light on the problem. That was certainly their position when they were asked about the same matter over 2 years ago. In fact the inability of the entire Crown presence in Scotland to produce any meaningful answer was what led to enquiries being made south of the border, in particular to the Queen of England and the Dean of Westminster who in turn referred me to you.

The questions which specifically concern English Constitutional Law, and are therefore unlikely to be answered by civil servants in Scotland without training in this field, are as follows;

1. Do you consider that English Law was annulled as such on 1 May 1707 in favour of the Law of Great Britain?

2. Acceptance of the suggestion that the ‘Crown’ owns the Stone of Scone obviously gives the said Crown the force of legal personality in that it has deed and title to something. Is the ‘Crown’ in question the English Crown?

3. If the Crown in question is not the English Crown, but the Scottish Crown, the British Crown or the United Kingdom Crown, the only three relevant possibilities, can you explain the constitutional and legal distinction between any of the three and the English Crown?

4. If the Crown in question is indeed the English Crown, and in your estimation owns the Stone of Scone, is that claim to ownership under the tenets of English Law or United Kingdom Law, they being the only two relevant possibilities?

5. If you agree that the Stone is being ‘held by the Abbey on behalf of the nation’ are you able to identify the name of the nation?

6. If the Home Office position is not to recognise either England or Scotland as nations but to see the united kingdoms as one nation, what is the capital city of that nation?

7. If the answer to question 6 is given as ‘London’, is Edinburgh not a nation’s capital?

8. Finally, if it is the Home Office position that the united kingdoms are to be held to be one nation, designated as ‘the United Kingdom’, I must repeat my appeal on behalf of those without the will or the financial wherewithall to travel to Southern England. Might the Home Secretary authorise the circulation around Scotland of what a significant number of Scots deem to be their ancient Coronation Stone?

These eight questions are directly and legally relevant to only your office and it is clearly an evasion of responsibility to attempt to divert them elsewhere, especially to places they have essentially been wrongly directed more than two years ago.

I look forward to receiving your clear and comprehensive replies as soon as possible, as per the terms of the various Citizens Charters relevant in England.

Many thanks for your time and considerations. Robbie the Pict

Dear Mr Stephen,

STONE OF DESTINY – CONFIDENTIAL PROPOSAL

By way of historical background, summer this year marks the 7th centenary of the theft of the Scottish Coronation Stone from the Abbey at Scone. The return of the stone was assured by the Treaty of Northampton in 1328 but the treaty was not honoured. You should be aware that Edward’s men might have been palmed off with the Abbey’s cess tank lid but, as cess tank lids go, it has nonetheless become a bit special.

Over a period of 26 months, I have politely corresponded with any party who might have had a significant role to play in the return of the stone. From the local police at Scone to the Queen herself, all have served to thwart any attempt to return the stolen property and I now believe that I have to change tactics.

To this end, I would like to be in a position to offer the People of England a sum of between £1-19-7d and £250,000. (The lower sum because that was what it cost to adjust the English throne to receive the stone and the larger sum because it is an attention grabbing figure, being the lowest significant fraction of the magic ‘million’ word). I would initially announce an offer of the larger sum but as publicity opportunities grew, as I believe they surely would, I would be taking every opportunity to emphasise that the People of Scotland should not really need to purchase property stolen from us, especially when its return is supposed to be a matter of honour under treaty.

To be able to offer such a sum, its existence would need to be subject to confirmation by a financial institution like your good selves, and, in the unlikely event that the Crown agreed to sell, the sum might have to be paid over, but maybe in instalments. To make that event even more unlikely, I would announce it as a condition of the offer that the sum was available for a period of only 10 days, initially 27 March to 5 April, 1996. (6 April reflects Scottish Independence Day, 1320). After which the money will be removed from my account and returned from whence it came. The supplier of the offered funds would presumably wish to remain strictly anonymous, a condition which I undertake to respect totally. Depending on the media and popular reaction, it might be interesting to double the sum on offer during a second period (8 May to 17 May, just prior to Dunnichen Day, 20 May) and again on a third and last offer period (29 May to 7 June) but the profile of the issue may well be sufficiently high long before then.

From the bank’s perspective, I would be very surprised if the stake money was lost or if I could not organise a recovery fund, via rock music concerts etc., in the event that it had to be paid out. The bank may even consider it part of the P.R. budget and the revenue lost in interest from not having the sum available to lend for ten days, maybe only a notional loss, is less than a full page ad in the Scotsman. On the plus side, the publicity would be world wide when I announced that I have authorised the Bank of Scotland to confirm that one of my accounts contains in excess of £250,000 but I have notified the bank that this sum will be returned to its owner at close of business on 5 April unless it is committed to payment to the ‘Dean and Chapter of Westminster’. (I would propose that the Dean held the sum in trust until such time as the People of England decided where to apply the offered sum). Nobody need know that the Bank of Scotland is also the anonymous lender, and from the perspective of risk, the money cannot be more safe – with the obvious exception. (I would of course forego the interest accruing in my deposit account over ten days in exchange for the Bank of Scotland foregoing its interest charges to me!)

I thank you and your colleagues for the time and consideration you might give to this proposal. If you feel that it has any prospects in principle, I would be perfectly happy to discuss any adjustments thought to be politically or commercially wiser. Please read this again before deciding to be my friend for life!

Dear Sir

Thank you for your letter of 21 May to the Home Secretary which has been passed to The Scottish Office for reply.

The Stone is owned by the Crown, being monarch and Government for the time being of Great Britain. As far as any queries in relation to Crown property are concerned, the courts (sic) in Scotland would apply Scottish law (sic) and the courts in England and Wales would apply English law.

As you have probably heard Her Majesty has now decided that the Stone should be returned to Scotland and consultations are to be held on the appropriate location for it.

Yours faithfully

Huw Williams.

Students of the practices of Homo Sovieticus would recognise the ‘change of personnel-now what’s your problem?’ technique but this looks more like the arrival of an innocent abroad. Not up to speed on the topic but at least he still thinks in terms of there being Welsh Law. The poor soul is more of a romantic than I am! Unfortunately for him his has come onto the pitch for the penalty shoot-out so I had better remind him just on whose behalf he is answering questions.

To: The Scottish Office

9th July, 1996

Dear Mr Williams,

I must apologise for not being able to address you by your proper title but it has been omitted from your communication of 5th July, for which I thank you.

I have been advised by a Ms Clarke of the Home Office Constitutional Unit that you have asked that she sends my letter of 1st July, directed to the Constitutional Unit in London, to yourself. Since you are apparently volunteering to reply on behalf of the Home Secretary please consider all eight questions as requiring a reply, although it is appreciated that you may have to consult with the Home Secretary before you consent to the possibility of the Stone initially touring Scotland.

Your immediate reply of 5th July itself raises some new questions.

You state that the Stone is owned by ‘the Crown’ and my enquiries regarding that personality in law are covered by questions 2, 3 and 4, however you describe that entity in two forms, Monarch and Government of Great Britain.

I am obliged to draw your attention to the fact that there has been no such constitutional entity as Great Britain since the imposition of the Ireland Act of 1800 which changed the name of the constitutional arrangement to the United Kingdom, inexplicably in single form. The treaties of Rome, Helsinki and Maastricht for example are signed ‘The United Kingdom’. Do you accept this?

I must also draw to your attention the fact that there was a civil war in England in the 17th century which resulted ultimately in the 1689 Bill of Rights, a constitutional re-arrangement which left the Monarch of England only what they called a ‘constitutional monarch’, devoid of all executive power and left with only a symbolic courtesy in the form of a technical right to veto. Under this arrangement executive power passed to the parliament at Westminster, giving birth to the English principle of ‘parliamentary supremacy’. This constitutional revolution did not happen in Scotland where the principle of ‘popular sovereignty’ prevails. Generally speaking, the distinction is neither understood or respected in England and Wales but when it comes to conveying property it becomes important to be aware of the discrete nature of the systems. Is the Home Office aware of the difference?

One of the truths of the notional ‘treaty’ of union, a concept based on only the Acts of Union of 1706 and 1707, is that there was no provision for protecting the survival of the cannon of English law beyond 1st May, 1707. Provision was made for the continuance of only the Scottish cannon of law. In constitutional terms English Law died with the Kingdom of England in 1707.

You would seem however to have faith in something which you call English law but is perhaps United Kingdom law as it applies south of the border. The weakness with this position would seem to be that United Kingdom law only came into being with the annexation of Ireland and thus is 504 years too late to have any relevance to this question. Can you advise me of the creation of a document purporting to affirm ownership of the Stone by the Crown in Parliament since 1800?

You state that ‘Her Majesty has now decided that the Stone should be returned to Scotland’. I am not at all aware that the United Kingdom’s queen has decided anything regarding the Stone. As I have explained above she is but a ‘constitutional monarch’ and subject to ‘advice from her ministers’, a description she herself employs. I was also not aware that the intended meaning of the announcement by Mr Major was that the Stone should be returned to Scotland. Since it was stolen from Scotland that would indeed be proper, and as soon as possible, but I understood Mr Major to claim that the Stone remained the property of ‘the Crown’ and was only on loan to Scotland. Since you are writing on behalf of the Home Secretary, Mr Michael Howard QC, the minister directly responsible for administering the return in whatever form, can the people of Scotland now take it from you that their Coronation Stone is actually being returned to its owners on a permanent basis?

This takes me to my final question arising from your letter. Under the tenets of Scots Law it is prudent practice in a deed of conveyance, whether gifting or loaning, to identify the object, the donor and the recipient. The object we know is the Scottish coronation palladium known as the Stone of Scone, the recipient is the Sovereign People of Scotland whose property it obviously is and then we have a small difficulty in that it is not at all clear who the donor might be. Writing on behalf of the Home Secretary, you state that the donor is the United Kingdom’s queen but as a ‘constitutional monarch’ she neither stoops to own or give. The legal identity of the donor must be properly established before the recipient could consider taking any form of possession of the item offered. The recipient would have to be sure that the person demonstrating sufficient proprietorial attitude to offer in law had the proper authority to so do, either in his/her own capacity or in that of lawful and competent agent. So who is held to own the Stone at present and by what law?

In summation I have been obliged to ask an additional five questions, making a total of thirteen. You will appreciate that this being an affair of state it should be conducted properly by both sides and perhaps we can avoid planting another 700 years worth of bitter resentment.

Yours sincerely

Dear Robbie the Pict

Thank you for your letter of 9 July. I am looking into the points you have raised and will reply in due course.

Yours sincerely

Huw Williams.

We wait with boyish anticipation.

(The wait ended on 15 November 1996, four months after receiving the above letter, when the Stone of Destiny was delivered to Edinburgh Castle, Scotland, at the behest of the monarch, Queen Elizabeth, and the Prime Minister, John Major).

Salmond’s lion unlikely to roar By Ian Fraser The Sunday Times July 13th, 2008

The idea that Scotland should be a “Celtic lion” is a neat political concept. When Alex Salmond coined the phrase last October, he made it clear his government had ambition for Scotland’s economy.

Salmond’s lion – Ian Fraser  Nov 13th, 2007

“My hope for Scotland is that we will be honest about where we are and ambitious about where we can go. And, perhaps, as people now talk about the wonder of the Celtic Tiger, within the next generation we can introduce the world to a new marvel – the Celtic Lion.”     Alex Salmond

ALEX SALMOND is not without ambition. The Linlithgow-born cheeky chappy declared his desire to transform Scotland into a “Celtic Lion” on a recent visit to the United States.

Alex Salmond:

“The winds are blowing across Scotland and they’re blowing very strongly, believe me, in the north east of Scotland.

‘There’s going to be a lion roaring tonight, a Scottish lion, and it’s going to roar with a voice that no government of whatever political complexion is going to be able to ignore. I think it’s going to be a resounding voice, a clear voice, a united voice from Scotland, and I think that is a very good thing.”  SOURCE

Lions are important in freemasonry. I’m not too sure why. I know that when a male lion takes over a pride, it kills any male lion cubs of his predecessor. Usually he eats some of it too.  Top masons make a “lion’s paw” symbol with a clenched hand. When the European Treaty of Lisbon was signed, it was done so later than the rest of the participant’s representatives by Scottish Gordon Brown, then U.K. P.M. The location of this, now goatskin bound document, ritual was Jeronimes Chapel, a place named after a character who wandered round the world with a lame lion, the poor animal leaving drops of blood at his overnight stops. Work that out.  SOURCE

Meaning of the Lion’s Paw Sunday   May 3, 2009

An important form found among Freemasons is the “Lion’s Paw,” or grip formed by placing the fingers in the form of a cat’s paw. This grip, and its attendant reference to the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, has significance in several respects, both legendary and allegorical. Its message of transition and everlasting life are a critical part of the Third Degree.

As a symbol, the lion has been a favorite subject prior to the Christian era as well as during the Middle Ages. As a result, there is some confusion regarding its symbolism in Freemasonry.   READ IN FULL

THE NORTHEAST CORNER – MasonicWorld

Surely no Mason ever forgets the moment when he is placed in the Northeast Corner of the Lodge, and hears the Master say, that he there stands a just and upright Mason.  It is one of the thrills along the great journey of initiation, a point at which the idea and purpose of Masonry begin to take shape in the mind.

A thrill of joy is felt in the Lodge, not only by the initiate but by the Master and the Brethren, as if a son had been born, or a new friend found; a note of exaltation on having arrived at so happy a climax, as when a pilgrim pauses to rejoice in so much of a journey done.  And naturally so, because the Corner Stone of a Mason’s life has been laid. Our next passage through the Zodiac is between the Signs of Leo and Virgo, the southwest corner of the Lodge, which is mid-way between the Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. This entry into the Lodge is the beginning of the harvest season and it is through this portal that Masons pass between the pillars Jachin and Boaz or the Sphinx in Egyptian mythology. We progress to the West, at the close of day, where the Senior Warden resides. It is 6:00 pm, or the Fall Equinox, under the sign of Libra ruled by Venus (the feminine principle) or Isis in Egyptian mythology. The element is Air (or Mental) and it is the end of the harvest season where the Master Mason receives his wages if aught be due.

We are now passing into darkness and move toward the North into the Sign of Capricorn ruled by the planet Saturn – Kronos or Father Time. It is midnight or the Winter Solstice where the position of the Chaplin* is maintained over the Abyss. The element of this sign is Earth (or physical) and it is here that numerous traditions symbolize the sacrifice and struggle upon the Grand Cross of Matter – such as Horus, the Widow’s Son in Egyptian mythology.

Our final destination for this particular journey is the Northeast corner of the Lodge between the signs of Aquarius and Pisces. It is 3:30 am, mid-way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. This is the darkest point before the dawn in the Lodge and it is here we place the new Entered Apprentice. D’ya know, this case I’ve researched a wee bit, due to it being a piece of a bigger blog I have been working on for months {still workin on it. It’s a slow burner!!}

This documentary, d’no…  It’s thrown me! I’ve followed my gut instinct for years – ever since I realised I had one! I still have my 100% track record….  Just!!

This documentary has definitely made me think twice & doubt my own judgement. But when I do that, I then have a tendency to over think things & that never ends well!!

I think the documentary is more than a little convincing, so why have i got a sneaky feeling this still aint the full story?

In 2005 the twins father “died in a mysterious fishing accident. Ann Docherty believed he knew what happened to her but was unable to act”

Is it just me or does Ann (Mary’s twin) look on edge? Almost scared? She looks like a startled rabbit. She finds eye contact extremely difficult, but i don’t think its cause she is lying, more like she has her defence walls up. I absolutely think she is telling the truth… I also think there MAY be stuff she is omitting… I d’no. I’m probably over thinking.  Judge for yourself.

I hope for both Ann & Mary’s sake that TRUE justice is served..

Joining The Dots

Baker Street, Hatton Garden & Michael X

According to wiki the Baker Street robbery was the burglary of the safe deposit boxes at the Baker Street, London branch of Lloyds Bank, on the night of 11 September 1971.

Oh! 9/11 TWICE! 11th of 9th month & 1971.  & I don’t even “do” all the gremlin number crap (& i keep sayin that but same numbers keep croppin up?! Canny remember last time i saw a nice wee 41 or a 26 or 53 or 70. I could go on but I HATE NUMBERS)

It has often been reported that after four days of news coverage British authorities issued a D-Notice, requesting that such reporting be discontinued for reasons of national security and the story disappeared from newspapers. It is claimed by national newspapers in recent years, that some of the security boxes contained embarrassing or nationally sensitive material namely compromising sexual photographs of Queen Elisabeth II‘s sister, the late Princess Margaret, and that the purpose of the request was thus to protect the British Royal Family Rowlands, the aforementioned ham radio operator, claims that the police attempted to prevent him from talking to the press by means of the D-Notice, which he felt was an attempt to hide police incompetence. He also claims that police threatened to prosecute him for listening to an unlicensed radio station. An investigation some years later showed that a request had never been made to the D-Notice committee at that time. Furthermore, a D-Notice has no legal status, being a mere request and not a legally enforceable order. The Times newspaper was still reporting about the case over two months later.

Secrets of Tory abuse cover-up that made even criminal gang sick

wp-1473077499849.jpg

Bankers stopped police from uncovering an alleged Tory child abuse scandal unwittingly stumbled on by burglars, a new book claims.

Master thief Brian Reader and his gang found sickening images featuring a prominent Tory cabinet minister during a massive raid in 1971, according to an insider.

The crooks allegedly discovered the vile pictures after tunnelling into a branch of Lloyds in London’s Baker Street and rifling through scores of safety deposit boxes.

Michael X wiki (1933 – 16 May 1975), born Michael de Freitas in Trinidad and Tobago, was a self-styled black revolutionary and civil rights activist in 1960s London. He was also known as Michael Abdul Malik and Abdul Malik. Convicted of murder in 1972, Michael X was executed by hanging in 1975 in Port of Spain‘s Royal Jail.

Michael X is the secondary antagonist in The Bank Job (2008), a dramatisation of a real-life bank robbery in 1971. The film claims that Michael X was in possession of indecent photographs of Princess Margaret and used them to avoid criminal prosecution by threatening to publish them.

“Heathcote Williams asks ‟Who killed Michael X?‟  & points the finger at Elizabeth Windsor aka Queen Elizabeth II, for signing his death warrant in 1975.” Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.gov.uk

Heathcote Williams wiki spray-painted graffiti on the walls of Buckingham Palace as a protest against the Queen signing Michael X‘s death warrant while there was no capital punishment in the UK. In the early 1970s, his agitational graffiti were a feature on the walls of the then low-rent end of London’s Notting Hill district.[4]

Below, extracts from

In the film an underworld figure named Michael X is storing sexual photographs of Margaret taken on her holiday home in Mustique in the Baker Street vault with the intention of using them to blackmail the British establishment into turning a blind eye to his criminal activities.

Did this explain how well funded the operation was? The way the police seemed to be reluctant to catch the gang? And the supposed D-notice placed on the press preventing them from reporting what really happened?

Considering what we already know about Princess Margaret, it’s certainly plausible photographs extreme enough to be used for blackmail or cause a major public scandal may have existed. In The Bank Job, exactly such photographs are in the possession of an underworld figure named Michael X.

Real name Michael De Freteis, Michael X was a London gangster, drug dealer and slum landlord in the 1960s and 70s. X became a minor celebrity in the late 60s by setting up a London branch of the Black Power movement and was briefly feted in the press by such figures as John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

According to The Bank Job, Michael X kept compromising photographs of Margaret taken on Mustique in his safety deposit box at the Baker Street bank. He planned to use them as blackmail material to prevent prosecution for his criminal activities. Fearful of a major national scandal if they are made public, MI5 orders the raid to retrieve them.

Shortly after the robbery in 1971, Michael X was allowed to leave England for his native Trinidad, despite the fact he was due in court on charges of extortion. A few months later, the commune he started there burnt down in mysterious circumstances.

One curious piece of circumstantial evidence does exist, however. Micheal X’s MI5 file is locked up until 2054, 83 years after the robbery and 79 years after his death. The secrecy over the file of an obscure London gangster seems unwarranted. Could it be there is something so explosive in those files that they might still be embarrassing decades after everyone involved is dead?

In later years, a far more sinister variation on the Royal scandal theory has emerged. Brian Reader, a gang member not captured by police in 1971, says the men found sickening images of child sex abuse involving prominent politicians in the safety deposit boxes.

The now elderly Reader made the claims at his trial for involvement in another famous robbery, the 2015 heist of the safety deposit boxes at London’s Hatton Garden. He says the gang at Baker Street were so disgusted by the pictures they left them scattered out on the floor of the vault for the police to find.

If this is true, the resulting scandal would far eclipse even salacious pictures of a prominent royal. Allegations that there is a systematic cover-up of a child-sex ring at that highest level of British politics persists even today. If evidence for such a ring had been found scattered on the floor of a bank vault back in 1971, it would certainly have been concealed by the authorities.

Kincora & Birr Castle

NB. The results of official RUC investigations into the Kincora Scandal are “sealed ” to this day , because of the influence of high ranking persons . It should also be noted that some of the Kincora children were taken to Birr Castle County Offaly in the Republic of Ireland .

Birr is the hereditary family home of the Earls of Rosse – related to the royal family through the marriage of Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong Jones . Note the Mountbatten link.

Lifelong Bachelor Edward Heath was also a Kincora vistor.

Colin Wallace worked for British Military Intelligence , Misinformation and Psyops Dept , in the 1970s . Wallace was ordered by his superiors to investigate the Kincora Boys Home in east Belfast and the behaviour of William McGrath and the other staff members. The abusers were described in Chris Moore’s and Paul Foot’s books as homosexuals but there are others who would prefer to use the words “child abuse” when it comes to describing the activities of those involved in the Kincora Case. The names McGrath , Semple and Mains are widely known but it has become obvious that there are other names of powerful and well-known people who have connections with the Kincora saga and whose identities the so-called authorities have tried to keep secret since the scandal broke . One such person who has been reported to have visited Kincora is Ted Heath , the former Conservative MP and British PM.

Another name is that of John McKeague , a well known homosexual and a member of a protestant paramilitary group called The Red Hand Commandos . McKeague was associated with McGrath and TARA but there is little mention of McKeague’s connections to Kincora and whether or not he was a visitor to the boys home . There obviously was a connection , as out-lined on page 142 in Paul Foot’s book , “Who framed Colin Wallace”. Foot says that there was a connection between the murder of a ten year old boy called Brian McDermott in 1973 and John McKeague . It was believed that there were sexual and witchcraft connections to the murder of Brian McDermott whose body was dismembered and then burnt before being thrown into the River Lagan . SOURCE

Robin Bryan’s Letter

It is interesting to note that Hailsham has sued neither you nor Century for your widely published allegations, because, of course, as you and Lord Shackleton agree ‘Too much would come out.’  I certainly was not allowed to call Sir Knox Cunningham as a witness for him to describe how he recited Monteith’s ‘disgusting Orangeman’s doggerel’ (Lord Justice Phillimore’s remark) about buggery at political meetings, and how Cunningham himself and his fellow-pederasts in Belfast set up the Forrest Reid Memorial Scheme to further gay cause which Reid spent his life promoting.  Many people thought Cunningham went too far in getting the Queen’s Uncle, Earl Granville, to be Patron of this homosexual outfit.  But it was Lord Mountbattten (Prince Philip’s uncle) who outlived Granville to promote Forrest Reid’s adoration of YOUNG TOM,() the story based on Kenneth Hamilton, whose three-year old relation, still alive today, was raped by Mountbatten’s friend.

In March 1990 Frank Doherty, editor of NOW magazine flew to London to do the next month’s edition about Mountbatten and myself.  After getting material from Mr Ken Livingstone MP and yourself he wrote under the headline, ‘MOUNTBATTEN WAS PART OF A GAY RING WHICH WAS LINKED WITH KINCORA.’

In one letter, of which ‘Now’ has obtained a copy from another source, there is a reference to an alleged incident at Birr, Co Offaly.  It refers to ‘the old snapshots at Birr Castle showing the late Lord Rosse getting Alan Price to flash his prize codpiece for Lord Mountbatten and Anthony Blunt.’  If the judicial inquiry for which some MPs have been calling is set up, inspection of Bryans’ letters and cross-examination of those who received them would open a huge can of worms…’

The present Earl of Rosse wrote to me in my capacity as a family executor on 17 February 1986, ‘I have the archivist from the Public Records Office back here for a week when I hope to get these and other additions inserted into our archival system.  Meanwhile I hope you may be hearing from my niece Sarah how thrilled she was with the picture.’  The niece being Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones, daughter of Princess Margaret, and the picture being a famous study of Sarah’s grandfather, King George VI which I brought from Windsor in 1956 after the Duchess of Newcastle died and Forest Farm was pulled down. READ IN FULL

HIDDEN MYSTERIES

From my own cult sources I have no doubt that the Kincora Boys Home Scandal involved SRA and devilworship. My source who is a clergyman informed me that SRA and devilworship took place at Kincora and he said that he knew who these people were. He told me that the Satanic Abusers at Kincora were “top civil servants!”

The results of the official police investigations into the Kincora scandal are Sealed to this day because of the influence of powerfull politicians!

Also, the Kincora children were taken to Birr Castle, County Offally , the home of the Earl of Rosse, where the abuse took place! (Confirmed to me by Joan Coleman of “RAINS”, England)  Read In Full

In a recent conversation with Dr Coleman , she confirmed to me that Colin Wallace  knew about the Birr connection and that Wallace had informed a social worker of this vital fact. The Kincora story broke in 1980 with accusations of ritual abuse by staff at the home, including William McGrath, a homosexual Loyalist employed by MI5. It is said that children were taken to Birr Castle in the Republic of Ireland where the Hellfire Club was founded by the Parsons family, hereditary Devil worshippers. Very powerful and well known ’pillars of society’ were implicated in the Kincora network, not least Ted Heath, a former Prime Minister and Lord Mountbatten with his predilection for working class boys. Needless to say, the police were informed of the allegations and as ever, failed to act. At around the same time a similarly sordid tale was emerging in Portugal at a state run home for orphans in Casa Pia, where disadvantaged and mute children were being raped by “carers” and supplied to important individuals abroad.

Queen Victoria’s great-grandson and Prince Philip’s uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten who was linked to the Kincora boys home scandal, was sailing with two teenage boys when he was killed in a bomb attack off the coast of Ireland.  Source

Mc Keague was arrested in 1973 for paramilitary activities and he boasted from prison at that time that he would not be prosecuted because “he knows too much about some people”.

McKeague was later killed in very unusual circumstances.

Rev Roy Magee says that the Rev Bradford was murdered because he found out about “the activities of the rich and powerful ” in Ulster loyalist circles.

According to:

When one considers the locations of the “witchy” sites where animals were discovered skinned and dismembered , one wonders if the Repubican excuse was a valid one.

The sites were located in Antrim town, a largely loyalist town and in Coleraine , another loyalist town.

Recently , Rev Roy Magee said that animals, which had been used in a satanic ritual , were found at the Tower near Newtownards in County Down , another loyalist area.

According to :

It is believed that the Knights Templars resurfaced in Scotland in its new guise of the Freemasons.

In later years many prominent Lords and gentry , again descendents of the old Norman aristocracy, became leading figures in the Freemasons.

One prime example was, in 1725, Richard Parsons, 1st Earl of Rosse, Grand Master of Ireland’s Freemasons .

At the same instance , Richard Parsons was also one of the founder members of Ireland’s aristocratic Satanist cult, The Hellfire Club.

The Hellfire club, alleged to have devoted to their time to the practice of unbridled hedonism, was apparently founded in 1735 by the 1st Earl of Rosse, Richard Parsons, who, according to Peter Somerville-Large, was ‘known’ to be a ‘sorcerer, dabbler in black magic… and a man of “humour and frolic”‘. He was also the grandfather of the 3rd Earl of Rosse, William Parsons, who built the giant telescope at Birr, in the Irish midlands, in 1839, which remained the largest telescope in the world for many years. Princess Margaret, was the younger daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and the only sibling of Queen Elizabeth II.

Antony Armstrong-Jones (later to become Earl of Snowdon) was the only son of the marriage of the barrister Ronald Armstrong-Jones (1899–1966) and his first wife Anne Messel

(On 19 September 1935, Anne married for secondly to Michael Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse, with whom she had two more sons, Brendan and Martin)

In 1960, Margaret accepted the proposal of the photographer Armstrong-Jones & the couple had two children; David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley, born 3rd Nov 1961, and Lady Sarah, 1st May 1964

On 8 October 1993, David, Viscount Linley married the Hon. Serena Stanhope (born 1970) who was daughter of Charles Henry Leicester Stanhope (later 12th Earl Of Harrington) at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster.

Serena’s brother is William Henry Leicester Stanhope, Viscount Petersham (born 14 Oct 1967), who is married to the former chanel model Candida Bond, and has issue, one son, Hon. Augustus Stanhope, a Page of Honour [1] and one daughter. They live at their Scottish estate, Crimonmogate

Who Will Inherit London? 23.01.04

The same is not quite true of the Hon William Stanhope and his sister Serena (wife of Viscount Linley), the children of Viscount Petersham, and grandchildren of the Earl of Harrington. William will eventually inherit the family title, and a significant proportion of the £100-million fortune, including a large chunk of South Kensington (Serena is also expected to inherit a large sum). The Hon William, 36, is a venture capitalist, mountaineer and eco-campaigner. Handsome and eccentric, he used to drive round London in a leopard-skin-upholstered hearse and once donned a rhino outfit for the Save the Rhino campaign. His wife of two years is Candida Bond, a sculptress and model who was plucked from nowhere to become the face of Chanel.

They were married in a Cotswold church, decorated with vegetables, before 460 guests including Bryan Ferry and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson. Home is now the family’s 200-acre Scottish estate, Crimonmogate, parts of which they rent out for weddings. Though happy to stick his head above the parapet in certain respects, the Hon William is tight-lipped on the subject of the London estate. ‘Naturally I have my own set of opinions on the thing, but I’d rather not comment,’ he says cagily. ‘Why don’t you talk to the larger estates?’ Read in full Evening Standard

Satanist Ritual Abuse of Children

A Submission in response to the Office of the Children’s Commissioner
Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Gangs and Groups (CSEGG)

January 2012

The author is  BM, BS, MRCP(UK), DRCOG on behalf of the Christian Maranatha Community.

Here’s the essence:

  1. The abuse of victims is often not disclosed until adulthood – usually because of threat-induced fear – and, in the case of satanist ritual abuse, mind control and programming techniques are used to specifically detach the victims from conscious memory of the events which have taken place.
  2. The scale of victimisation and abuse by gangs and groups is unknown.
  3. Satanist Ritual Abuse is an extreme, sadistic, methodical, systematic, sexual, physical, emotional and spiritual form of abuse: orchestrated deliberately in such a way that mind control is established.
  4. Satanist ritual perpetrator groups are composed of individuals who often have professional jobs in the police, legal and social services and local authority. Satanist groups also frequently include members who are freemasons. There is deliberate intent to have members in different spheres of influence to maximise the security of the group. Many groups have extensions to those in other parts of the nation and even other nations which increases their capacity to control their victims.
  5. A significant proportion of the children are born into intergenerationally-involved families, and the abuse begins at birth. It is also established that satanist ritual groups prey on children placed in ‘care’ and vulnerable adults, especially those with learning difficulties, in order to use them for ritualistic purposes.
  6. Inducement of fear is central to satanist ritual abuse and this is used to maintain control of victims.
  7. For every successful conviction against UK satanist ritual abusers there are almost certainly many more who are never investigated. This is sometimes due to police indifference or lack of competence in investigating such crimes, or due to influence exercised by the abusers over some of the police. Successful convictions took place regarding
    1. March 2011: Kidwelly, Wales;
    2. November 1982: Telford, Shropshire;
    3. July 1987: London;
    4. August 1990: Worcester;
    5. July 1992: Liverpool.
  8. The existence of groups involved in satanist ritual abuse is established in the UK and involves the use of children in systematic abuse and exploitation of the worst possible kind. The nature of the abuse and the deliberate and sophisticated mind-controlling techniques used by perpetrator groups means that victims do not present themselves, and indeed are often unaware of the abuse themselves, until early adulthood. Several specialist therapeutic and support groupings have emerged over the past 20 years to help the survivors of this type of extreme abuse and should be asked to help with the ‘Call for Evidence’.
  9. Conclusion

There is a need for an urgent, thorough and pro-active consideration of the nature and extent of satanist ritual abuse of children, including a review of court cases, police and legal procedure, and meetings with victims.

INVESTIGATION:the Scottish psychiatric hospital

Scotland on Sunday. September 21, 1997. by Paul Rowinski.

Row as doctored report spares trust’s blushes.

Experts claim edited highlights of official report into Lennox Castle hospital ignore condemnation of unacceptable conditions.

AN official report on conditions inside a Scottish psychiatric hospital was doctored to save a health trust’s embarassment.

The final report on Lennox Castle Hospital outside Glasgow was only mildly critical when it was published last month, but the original draft was infinitely more scathing. It condemned management, basic standards of care, and reported patients’ complaints of physical and mental abuse. Read the articles in full https://prowinski.wordpress.com/investigations/  http://archive.li/XjeEo

LENNOX CASTLE HOSPITAL

Lennox Castle was opened on September 24, 1936, by Lord Provost John Stewart was named Lennox Castle Certified Institution for Mental Defectives.
It was built between 1837 and 1841, in the square style of a Norman castle for John Lennox Kincaid by architect David Hamilton (1768 – 1843). The large, three storey red sandstone mansion has battlemented corner towers, a five story tower, and a large entrance porch to the north.
During World War I, the castle was requisitioned for use as a military hospital.
In 1927, the castle was purchased by Glasgow Corporation for £25,000, together with 494 ha (1,222 acres) of the Lennox Kincaid estate, as part of its plans to create a hospital for the mentally-ill. Built to the designs of Wylie, Shanks and Wylie, the new institution provided twenty dormitory blocks, with sixty beds in each, accommodating a total of twelve hundred patients, six hundred males and six hundred females in separate sections. Each section also had its own dining hall, kitchen, and workshop. There was also a new central administration block, medical block, visitors’ tea-room, assembly hall with cinema, and forty additional houses which served as married quarters for the staff. During the construction phase, the castle building was used to house the hospital’s patients. When the works were completed, the castle then became the nurses home.
In 1936, Lennox Castle Certified Institution for Mental Defectives officially opened.
During World War II, the castle was again requisitioned for use as a hospital, with patients being transferred to huts erected in the grounds – a temporary arrangement that lasted for some forty years.
In 1942, the hospital allocated beds to maternity patients, as part of another temporary arrangement, this one lasting until 1964.
On November 3, 1948, Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie was born at Lennoxtown – now better known as singer Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE.
In 1987, the original Lennox Castle building was no longer required by the hospital, and was vacated.
A phased closure plan for the hospital began in the 1990s, including a planned resettlement of all the residents. Lennox Castle Hospital closed in April, 2002.
By 2004, only the original Lennox Castle building remained on the site, all other hospital buildings having been demolished, and the site cleared.
On May 11, 2006, the first ground was broken to mark the beginning of construction of Celtic Football Club’s new training facilities on the site, due for completion in the summer of 2007.
Builders Mactaggart & Mickel have also been granted consent to regenerate the site of the former Lennox Castle Hospital with a substantial mix of 76 properties in their Campsie View development.
Lennox Castle was severely damaged by fire on May 19, 2008. Part of the tower was destroyed, and movement of the stonework may lead to the demolition of the building. The cause of the fire is undetermined.   http://www.secretscotland.org.uk/index.php/Secrets/LennoxCastleHospital   http://archive.li/V6kmY

UNMARRIED mothers, wayward teenagers and Down’s Syndrome sufferers were just some of the people starved, drugged and abused at Lennox Castle in Lennoxtown.

This ward was home for many patient’s before the hospital’s closure
AFTER 21 years in Lennox Castle, psychiatrists admitted they could find nothing wrong with Marie O’Connor.
“I never belonged there, at least I knew that and that’s why I wanted away,” she says.

“Your head is all full of broken bottles once you realise that you don’t belong.”image

Lennox Castle, in Lennoxtown, Dunbartonshire, was less of a mental institution than a warehouse, where those deemed society’s misfits were deposited.

Truants, unmarried mothers, wayward teenagers and children with learning difficulties, Down’s syndrome or mental illness all ended up there.
They were starved, drugged, physically and emotionally abused and robbed of their humanity.
Wednesday sees the launch of Lennox Castle Stories, a website that gathers artwork and thoughts from former patients and staff of what was Scotland’s largest mental hospital, which closed in 2002.
The project is ongoing, a partnership between arts organisation Project Ability and supported living organisation C-Cange.
Marie is sitting with Norman Telfer, a pensioner put into the institution when he was 14 because he skipped school. He left 45 years later.
He remembers the cold ground under his bare feet from when he ran round the blocks of the hospital as punishment for failing to address a staff member as sir.
The laps were punctuated by blows from a baseball bat.
He says: “Lennox Castle was a wicked place to stay. I wouldn’t have wished it on anyone.”

Conditions were so bad that in 1986, the hospital’s medical director Dr Alasdair Sim broke ranks to say that he had never worked in “a worse pit”
image
Norman with some of his artwork

He added: “I am sick to the stomach about the plight of these poor people.”
Opened in 1936 to house 1200 people, 1700 were housed there at its peak in the 1970s. They were crammed 32 to a single-sex dormitory, with no right to privacy or individuality.
Part of the castle grounds now house Celtic’s training ground, opened in 2007. Players come and go, oblivious to what went on just decades before.
Marie regularly ran away. She was not the only one.
Those who did were chased by dogs through the surrounding woods. When returned, they were locked up for six weeks, placed on a mattress on the floor, drugged and forbidden visitors.
Punishments included being dressed in a knee-length white nightshirt and being forced to scrub the floors with a toothbrush.
For misdemeanours, patients would be made to sit in a nightdress at a table in the corridor and eat bread and milk.
Not that mealtimes were much better for the rest.
Marie says: “The patients would sit with a plate and the staff would throw a pie at them, like it was feeding time at the zoo.”
One relative of a patient said he was horrified when he saw bread being thrown at his brother, like they were feeding birds.
In December 1989, a study in the British Medical Journal found a quarter of patients in Lennox Castle were grossly underweight and malnourished.
Marie had been placed in the hospital when she went off the rails, drinking and smoking and staying out.
She was diagnosed with a learning difficulty and her parents were assured Lennox Castle was the best place for her.
Marie says: “I was no different from thousands of other teenagers. I knew there was nothing wrong with me and if I hadn’t been strong in my mind, I would have gone crazy.”
Many were drugged and became institutionalised, making it almost impossible to break free.
Psychiatrists eventually admitted Marie had no learning difficulties and she was released but her ordeal wasn’t quite over.
Four years later, aged 39, she had a son, Joseph, to a former worker at the hospital.
But she had to fight to keep him and social workers visited her up to three times a day until they recognised she was a fit mother.
image
Marie with her son, Joseph

Her life now is a happy one but at 48, she is angry that she left behind her youth in Lennox Castle.
“I should never have been there,” she says. “I’ll never forget what was done to us.”
Norman was a teenage orphan when social workers placed him in the castle. When he came out, he was six years short of his pension.
He remembers patients being treated far worse than prisoners.
He says: “The corridor had to be scrubbed until it was shining or they would kick the bucket over and you would start again.
“Beds had to be made to perfection or they would tip them up and make you start again.”
The men and women were given £5 a week in pocket money, which would be docked if they stepped out of line.
The patients had to work, some in the laundry or, as in Norman’s case, a piggery in nearby Kirkintilloch.
He got up at 6.30am, polished the floor by his bed and tidied, was fed “wallpaper paste” porridge, got a bus at 8am and returned at 6pm to be handed a scrubber and soap to clean the floors and windows.
Sometimes the patients were used as entertainment. Women have talked of having to strip naked while staff laughed at them and men were made to perform sexual acts on each other for the amusement of staff.
Ian Doak, 58, was placed in Lennox Castle for seven years because his mother struggled to cope with him in his teenage years.
Among his artwork is an animation of plasticine figurines seen gazing out of the castle’s windows. They have eyes but no mouth, a poignant symbol of their powerlessness.
Eventually, Lennox Castle became more informal but although patients could leave, many had nowhere to go and no clue how to live without the routines laid out for them.
A phased programme was devised in the 1990s to support them in the community.

Lennox Castle Hospital

Norman, Marie and Ian have all been successfully reintegrated and are part of the team of former patients leading the Lennox Castle Stories project.
Dr Sam Smith, who was on the commissioning team which helped close the castle and move people out, says the project is important, “lest we forget”.
She adds: “It is hard for people to imagine that in our recent history, people thought it appropriate for sections of the population to be kept isolated and away from their communities and loved ones, with no choices on how their lives should be run.”
In 2001, Dr Smith founded C-Change, which advocates that everyone is entitled to the help needed to allow them to live in their own home.
She says: “Lennox Castle was a community but not as we understand community. This community was built on power and control, adversity and strength, weakness and loss of self.”
Her greatest pleasure has been to see the smothered spirits of the patients flourish on the outside.
She says: “The same people are now mothers, fathers, workers who are part of the community and have so much to contribute. I saw them being transformed in a short space of time, just by being allowed to live in their own homes.

CLAIMS that scientific experiments were done on orphans and the deportation of children to Australia and Canada must be investigated by the Scottish inquiry into child abuse, survivors insisted last night.
Allegations that Scottish institutions were involved in drug tests on vulnerable children should be fully explored by the Scottish Government inquiry, according to a group representing hundreds of survivors.
‘This government must always be on the side of victims of abuse’
The Scottish Government is currently deciding what form its historical abuse inquiry should take and how it intends to uncover the deeply disturbing crimes that have been committed against children in Scotland over the last few decades.
Scotland on Sunday has seen a draft submission to ministers prepared by Incas (In Care Abuse Survivors Scotland) demanding that the government sets up an investigation with a wide remit looking at abuse allegations dating from the 1930s to the present. The document says the inquiry should “review medical experimentation that was carried out on vulnerable children and adults without consent”. http://www.scotsman.com/news/inquiry-urged-over-child-experiment-claims-1-3719003   http://archive.li/rQ82R

screenshot_2015-12-10-17-52-26-1.pngThe allegations centre on at least four institutions where thousands of children are said to have been experimented upon in conditions described as “like something out of Auschwitz”.

It is alleged that Porton Down, the top secret military facility in Wiltshire, was involved in trialling drugs for use in the Cold War on youngsters who were regarded as “feeble-minded”.

One survivor told this newspaper he has obtained written and video evidence that he will pass to the public inquiry into historical abuse of children in care when it begins next year.

The man, now in his 50s, has been advised by lawyers to conceal his identity for his own safety until his full submission can be lodged at the inquiry announced by Scottish Education Secretary Angela Constance.

However, he was willing to divulge some of his intended testimony about the treatment he and others suffered.

He said: “Six and seven year olds were tied to racks and given electric shocks.

“I was incarcerated with orderlies armed with rubber coshes.

“We were imprisoned, experimented upon, lobotomies, you name it, they did it.

“I was there, I saw it with my own eyes.

We were imprisoned, experimented upon, lobotomies, you name it, they did it

A survivor
“I was classed as a misfit, a mental oddity, made a ward of court.

“My mother was killed and I became an orphan, so they took it upon themselves to have me experimented upon.”

Lennox Castle Hospital, near Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, is one of four Scottish institutions alleged to have been involved.

The witness believes there may have been as many as 3,500 children who were involved in the Porton Down testing programme over the years.

He said: “They were using orphans to experiment with drugs for the Cold War.

“The drug programme ran from 1948 to 1982.

“I believe this happened throughout the UK but I’m referring to Scotland.

“I have this evidence, on paper and on film, and I will hand it to the public inquiry.

“It was like something out of Auschwitz and people will be full of revulsion when they learn the state allowed this to happen.”

Lennox Castle Hospital, which closed in 2002 and is now the site of Celtic FC’s training ground, was home to children and adults with learning difficulties or conditions such as Down’s syndrome, as well as truants, unmarried mothers and wayward teenagers.

Some patients were sent there as children, often for the most trivial reasons, and ended up spending decades locked up.

Conditions improved after a series of damning reports and investigations, including a 1986 World in Action TV documentary which led to questions in the House of Commons.

Last night, Professor Ulf Schmidt of the University of Kent, Britain’s leading expert on human experimentation at Porton Down, said he had never heard of a drug trial programme involving orphans.

He added: “That is not to say these experiments didn’t happen, but I would be very cautious in dealing with these allegations.

“Some stories have appeared and reappeared over the past 50 years, including a similar one about drug testing and euthanasia involving elderly people that was eventually shown to be false.”

Six years ago hundreds of veterans who ‘volunteered’ to take part in tests at Porton Down were offered £3million in compensation.

They were exposed to nerve agents, such as sarin gas, and hallucinogens, such as LSD.

In the most infamous case, from 1953, Ronald Maddison took part in a trial of what he believed was a cold remedy, but died within an hour of having sarin dabbed on his arm.

Other Porton Down experiments included spraying bacteria over the south coast of England and dropping cancer-causing particles from planes.

And Gruinard Island in Wester Ross had to be sealed off for almost 50 years after it was contaminated with anthrax during the Second World War.

Porton Down is the home of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, an agency of the Ministry of Defence.

A spokeswoman said: “We are not aware of any tests involving children at Portown Down and have seen absolutely no evidence to back up these claims  http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/548129/Holyrood-child-abuse-inquiry-Scottish-orphans-military-experiments  http://archive.li/TSwxX

‘Godless’ Scotland could doom Freemasons

SCOTLAND’S Freemasons have admitted that their future may be under threat because of the rise of atheism.

Senior figures in the organisation have reportedly expressed concern over the number of people turning their backs on religion, with about half the country now saying they do not attend church.

Individuals can only be initiated into the Grand Lodge of Scotland if they state their belief in a “supreme being”, something at odds with an increasingly Godless society.

The lodge posted a chart based on the 2011 census on its official Facebook page, showing that people living north of the border are most likely to declare they follow no particular faith.

The page stated: “This graphic fortells of a looming problem and it is one that will be upon us sooner or later.” The Grand Lodge declined to comment further, but key figures within the organisation are believed to consider the census findings a long-term problem.

Last year the male-only organisation revealed that its number of new recruits had fallen to around 2,000 today from a high of 45,000 a century ago.

The Grand Lodge of England acknowledged the concerns of its sister organisation, but said that it was more upbeat about its own future.

Mike Baker, its director of communications, said: “Our present experience is that whilst formal religious observance is on the delcine, most people still have some form of personal faith or belief system.”  SOURCE    Comments
