Rolf Harris, 87, applying to get 12 sex convictions overturned at Court of Appeal
Artist was convicted of 12 indecent assaults against four young girls in 2014
Also convicted of catalogue of abuse against daughter’s friend over 16 years
But Harris hired private investigator who traced witnesses with fresh evidence
Father of victim, aged eight, said entertainer couldn’t have groped his daughter as he wouldn’t have allowed her out
Rolf Harris arrives at the Court of Appeal in London today to launch a fresh bid to challenge indecent assault convictions
Rolf Harris could have all 12 of his sex convictions quashed after the father of his youngest victim claimed the assault could not have taken place.
The disgraced entertainer, 87 launched a bid at London‘s Court of Appeal on Tuesday as he claims fresh evidence proves he did not have the right to a fair trial.
The entertainer, 87, was jailed for five years and nine months in 2014 for assaulting an eight-year-old and two teenage girls and abusing his daughter’s friend.
But now those convictions could be overturned as three judges will examine the 12 counts and decide how to proceed.
The cartoonist, singer and TV presenter hired private investigators to track down key witnesses including police officers.
The father of the youngest victim told a court due to her age he would not have let her go to a community centre where she said Harris groped her in Portsmouth in 1969.
The victim’s father said he would have known if Harris was there at the time of the offence as it would have been ‘common gossip’ and he simply ‘would not allow her to go’ because of her age.
Harris’s defence barrister Stephen Vullo QC said: ‘Is the reality just blindingly obvious that he just never attended?
‘In my respectful submission this is classic fresh evidence – it is real and an issue that was not raised at trial.’
Harris’s renewed application for permission to appeal will be considered by three judges today
Mr Vullo called retired detective superintendent Graham Piper and retired detective constable Peter Spencer, who worked at the police station 50 yards from a community centre in Leigh Park, Portsmouth, where Harris was said to have molested a young autograph hunter.
Both repeated their testimonies they gave at trial that they were not aware of Harris ever attending the community centre.
They said they would have known if he had so done because of the celebrity’s draw.
But under further cross examination from prosecutor Jonathan Rees QC they both admitted that Harris could have attended the centre, between 1968 and 1969, without their knowledge.
Mr Vullo said: ‘He has absolutely no motive to undermine this court – he is, in my submission, an honest witness.
‘It is possible, I suppose, that he (Harris) turned up to the centre and then disappeared without anyone knowing – or actually is the reality just blindingly obvious that he just never attended?’
Mr Rees said the submissions put forward by the defence do not add ‘to the weight of the evidence that was before the jury’.
At the end of today’s hearing, Lord Justice Treacy announced the court would not give a ruling immediately after submissions from both sides were completed.
He said the application ‘requires careful consideration and assessment’.
Harris was convicted of 12 indecent assaults at Southwark Crown Court in June 2014 – on the eight-year-old autograph hunter, two teenage girls and abuse against his daughter’s friend over 16 years.
He was then stripped of his hat-trick of honours following those verdicts, including an MBE in 1968, an OBE in 1977 and a CBE in 2006 after he was jailed for five years and nine months.
A few months later he was found guilty he failed in an attempt to bring a challenge to a judge who refused his application for permission to appeal.
In May this year the former Animal Hospital presenter was formally cleared of unconnected historical sex offences which he had denied.
A second jury trying the shamed TV star over claims he molested three young female fans had been discharged after failing to reach verdicts.
He was released from HMP Stafford on 19 May after serving less than half the sentence.
The Australia-born artist insisted his convictions in 2014 left him ‘vulnerable’ to fake claims from liars looking to make a quick buck or a spot in the limelight.
Harris, formerly of Bray, Berkshire, is the highest profile celebrity to be tried under the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Yewtree probe, launched in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.
“With a heavy heart I must inform you that I can no longer be Bob and Max’s caregiver. This has been an extremely difficult decision because I have so much love for the boys. I have always cared for them as if they were my own children. Unfortunately, I have seen them get worsewith increased contact with their mom and I am unable to obtain for them proper assessments and professional help. I have seen the boys’ continuing violence towards animals, their sisters and adults. This recent decision means the girl’s can’t continue their relationship with their dad. I believe I have no choice coming to this difficult decision for the reasons I explain below.
I know these boys to be very kind and loving. Bob loves to draw and play the drums while Max loves sports. They think of my dad as one of their grandfathers and my youngest daughter Eloise as their sister. They look up to their big sisters and really enjoy Eloise looking up to them.
At the time of placement Bob was very anxious, biting his nails. Max was very emotional and aggressive towards his brother. Nighttime was difficult.Prior to placement they didn’t have a bedtime. It was very inconsistent. They were often up until 4am. They had no boundaries, manners, didn’t know how to share, and weren’t respectful of other children. Shortly after placement Bob stopped biting his nails, they learned to play with my daughters and other children, they did very well with a regular bedtime routine. Their school commented on the noticeable positive change. They were very respectful and had good manners. They seemed very calm and content and happy at our home.
About two months into it, their visits with their mom were increased and I saw changes. They displayed a violent anger that was uncontrollable. As you are aware NAME REDACTED, their therapist, started working with the children about a month after placement. I gave her a history of their behavior over the 10 months prior to placement and the first month after. The boys adjusted very well right after placement. I voiced my concerns to their therapist. I reminded her that they transitioned on and off prior to placement between the both of us.What I started to see inthe boys was very different and disturbing at times.
The boys started to have extreme violent mood swings, often times out of nowhere. They would be calm, playing and turn on a dime. The boys would grab anything they could get their hands on as quick as possible. Toys, picture frames, any object within arm’s reach, they can pick up they would throw. They violently threw these things at me, my daughters, anyone near them, as well as at the windows and walls. They have broken iPads, cellphones, flipped small furniture and break it, along with many toys. Bob threw a remote at the tv so hard he cracked the screen. I had to take many things out of their room because they would destroy it. I have had to put things up out of their reach. Things that normally would be appropriate for a 4yr old, have to be put away. After they break things many times they say that I broke them or their sister did.Mine and Charlie’s daughters have been strangled, kicked in the head and stomach, scratched, bit, slapped, punched in the face and head, and spit on. Myself and anyone around them have also experienced this. My daughter Sami had to be taken to the doctor after getting hit in the eye with a toy when Bob came home with from a visit with his mom.
The boys have also been waking up with nightmares. Bob wakes up more often than Max, screaming and crying and it’s usually more than once in a night. The nightmares started about two months ago, then went away. Recently they have returned. Bedtime has become incredibly challenging because of the nightmares and Bob especially is very scared to go to sleep.
Their aggression is very confusing. They have a very gentle sweet side and in an instant it’s as though a switch is flipped in their mind. They can’t help it when these things happen. The boys will play very kindly with my youngest daughter, and for no reason will knock her in the head or push her over, or pinch her hard and won’t stop. One of the boys picked up a small chair to slam on her head. I was able to stop him. I can’t turn my back on them for a second. When they think I’m not looking they’ll kick our old lab in the face or punch one of us in the head. There was a period of them being fascinated playing with their feces and urinating on our walls. One evening I put them to bed, I was getting their sisters ready for bed. The boys snuck in my youngest daughter’s room while she was asleep and locked the door. I was terrified. They wouldn’t make a sound. They wouldn’t answer me. I couldn’t hear them even though I was calling for them. I had to get Charlie’s security. They broke open the door. The boys were in my daughter’s bathroom, one was pooping in her tub, while the other one was on the toilet catching his own feces and throwing it all over her bathroom.
The most concerning behavior is thatboys complete detachment from any emotion when they are in the moment inflicting harmon a person or animals. While in these momentsthey enter a zombie like state. This is their most troublesome behavior myself and others have witnessed. They have expressed their love for our dogs, which are very gentle and kid friendly. They both haverepeatedly kicked the dogs in the head, squeezed their heads with both hands while watching the dogs whimper in pain. The boys have choked them, punched them, pressed on their back and head extremely hard. While petting our little dog very sweetly, a second later they had had their hands tight around our dog’s neck and lifted him off the floor while strangling him. While doing this, they showed no remorse or any emotion. Due to their state I can’t get their attention to stop them when they’re inflicting harm. I have to physically pry their hands away. I could wave my hand in front of their face and they won’t flinch. I have repeatedly shared this many, many times to everyone involved in this case. I tell the boys they could kill the dogs strangling them, but have gotten many responses from the boys that they want to hurt them and want them to die. Shortly after they will tell me how much they love the dogs. The examples I have given are a handful of incidences that I have witnessed since having the boys. I realize that the boys have endured a lot and I would imagine the reasons the department removed them from their home have had an effect on them. I am aware that the boys are confused. How could they not be?
On a monthly visit with the department, NAME REDACTED said she knew what I was talking about when I expressed my concern of the boys appearing to have a lack of emotional attachment while causing harm. She said that she saw one of the boys almost smiling while he was being aggressively physical. Prior to placement I never witnessed this behavior. I had seen tantrums and aggression, but this is extremely different. I am very worried that they will do severe harm to our other children, themselves or anyone else. Over the summer I had them enrolled in a gymnastics camp, after several tries they were asked to leave. They were hurting other children, slapped the coaches, and their aggression was disruptive in the camp. When the boys started school in September 2013, the head of the school was concerned. She felt that she didn’t recognize the boys that she saw the end of June 2013. The boys have continued to have trouble at school. Bob especially. He harmed other children as well as punching and slapping teachers in the face. The incidents are not everyday. It goes in waves with many ups and downs. This is true at my home, and my understanding is the same for school. However, it only takes one incident for the boys to do extreme harm to another child.
As things started to escalate with their tumultuous mood swings and volatile behavior, I went to their pediatrician for help. In August their pediatrician wrote me a letter which is attached to this letter. He expressed his concerns over their behavior and urged me to have them go to a doctor he recommended, NAME REDACTED for a complete development and behavioral assessment. Their dad agreed also. I sent their pediatrician’s letter to the boys attorney and the department. I was given permission to move forward with the assessment. I had a two hour appointment with NAME REDACTED without the boys. During the course of the appointment she explained an assessment was important because she questioned whether the boys’ behaviors were attributable to the transitions. The appointment with the boys was two days later. The day before their appointment with the boys, NAME REDACTED from the department called and informed me the boys’ mother did not want them assessed and I could not take the boys to their appointment. After speaking with the boys’ attorney a week or so later it was explained that their mother would consider moving forward with an assessment, but wanted a doctor that I did not suggest. I reminded him the recommendation came from their pediatrician not myself. NAME REDACTED said someone else mentioned to him that I possibly wanted to take them to a doctor to get them medicated. Medication was never mentioned in any conversation that I had in discussing an assessment or anything else. It was also conveyed to me that their mother and her attorney felt that I was trying to find something wrong with the boys so that she can’t get them back. I have had to defend my position in regards to caring for the boys many times. I have been repeatedly accused of having an agenda. I will remind the department that I have genuine care and love for the boys, they are my daughter’s brothers. I do not get additional child support, their mother has continued to get support during placement. I have no agenda other than the boys’ best interests. As a result, the boys have not been assessed. It’s been about two months that I was informed I am not to take them to their pediatrician, and since then I have not received the name of one that I’m allowed to take them to should need be.
With no authority to make decisions on their behalf, I feel my hands are tied in providing them the proper help, support, and care that I feel as a parent they need. Often times their actions create an unsafe environment for themselves, my children, and others around them. There are times I feel that their best interest is being overlooked in this case and as a result I can no longer support this situation. As a parent and person who’s cared for them consistently for the last 7 months since placement and 10 months prior to placement in which they were in my care on and off at their mother’s request, I feel it would be extremely beneficial to get additional professional help for the boys. I have informed everyone involved in this matter that I believe the boys’ current mental health is detrimental to themselves and others around them.
I have spent many hours participating in therapy with the boys. I also did family therapy with their mother as requested by their therapist. I personally take care of all of their needs. I take care of the boys when they’re sick. I bought them all new clothes and shoes because they didn’t have any that fit when they were placed with me. Our daughters gave their room to their brothers which we decorated and surprised them with all the things they love. I truly have taken care and loved the boys as my own. My family has done everything to make them feel this is their home and not just a place they are staying. I have seen them feel loved, secure and benefit from the stability in our home.
The only agenda that I have is to care for them. That is it. I have no other agenda other than their well being. When I have deep concerns, seeing signs and behaviors indicating something is wrong, I would be irresponsible to not do something.
In my opinion I believe there is something deeper going on than difficulties due to transitions. Something in the boys has shifted. It doesn’t happen all the time, there are periods where it can be more often, and times when it’s less often. It’s very up and down. Regardless of how many times it’s happening, when it happens it’s on another level that is actually hard to explain unless witnessing it. I was told it’s normal and to be expected for their situation. I have been regularly told “These things will most likely go away once they’re back full time with their mom. ” I don’t know how this could be expected given her history. I also don’t know how the severity of their behavior can be ignored.
As you know Friday evening I received a call from the department that I can no longer monitor the father’s visits with the boys. The reason I was given was because of recent media. The department has previously been very supportive of the boys’ relationship with their father and also felt it was a good idea when he and I made the decision for the children and me to move close to him. As you have been made aware,it was previously very difficult to impossible for himto have a relationship with his sons while they were in the care of their mother. The last 7 months Charlie has been able to go to their school, while he was previously not allowed by their mom. He attended a Father’s Day event with the boys at school, a field trip. He has spent time with us consistently as you’ve seen on the visitation logs. His parents have been able to have a relationship with the boys as well. Janet and Martin Sheen have been very involved since placement. At the time of placement, the department was supportive of me being the monitor for their father even after their mother and lawyer opposed this in court. What may go on in the “media” has nothing to do with what is in the best interest of the boys.
Charlie has been off work the last few weeks. During that time he’s taken our daughters to school most days and picked them up, brought breakfast for all of the children, helped with homework, and had dinners with us. I’m also including their father’s final visitation log up to date. Because I have to be his monitor he’s not allowed to take his sons to school. While I am working a nanny has had to take the boys to school instead of their father. Charlie and I both respected the boundaries in place, and there has never been an incident where he has been inappropriate in front of the children. My home is very harmonious and nothing negative has ever been said to or around the boys. I can’t control what the boys may share with me or their father, however, nor should anyone try. Charlie has always remained respectful and supportive about their mother in the presence of the children.
I’m now not permitted to have their father in my home while the boys are present, which at this time is almost everyday. I do not believe that is in the best interest of the children.
Like Charlie, I have had to endure the boys’ mom’s accusations. I’m including photos that the department and the therapist have seen. I have a photo of what Bob’s face looked like at the time of myself and the boys’ meeting the monitor. From there the monitor took the boys to their mother for a day visit. I will remind the department that the photo the monitor, NAME REDACTED, or their mother took is indicating that Bob’s face looked very different from the time I gave the boys to the monitor. I was very upset by this, their therapist NAME REDACTED was at the visit at the time of arrival and did confirm Bob’s face did not look like the photo that NAME REDACTED had.
I was committed and willing to care for the boys and do everything I could to provide for them until their mom gets well. However, given I don’t have permission to get them the care and help they need I’m not able to provide the care that I believe is in their best interest. I have made endless requests for additional psychological help for the boys and explained in detail why. Nothing has happened. This is a very difficult decision to make, but necessary under these circumstances. It’s become unsafe in my home at times with their behavior. I can’t risk anything happening to my daughters or anyone else in my home. For that I have to step aside at this time. I’m here to help make the transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved and hope that my daughters will still maintain their relationship with their brothers as well as myself.
Charlie Sheen is being accused of sodomizing a then 13-year-old Corey Haim on the set of the movie ‘Lucas.’
According to the National Enquirer, a now deceased Haim had told others about how he was allegedly raped as a minor by Sheen, who was 19 at the time, while filming the 1986 movie.
Former actor Dominick Brascia claims Haim disclosed to him what happened between him and Sheen. Brascia went on the record about what he says Haim told him before he died in 2010 at 38-years-old.
‘Haim told me he had sex with Sheen when they filmed ‘Lucas,’ Brascia told the Enquirer. ‘He told me they smoked pot and had sex. He said they had anal sex. Haim said after it happened Sheen became very cold and rejected him. When Corey wanted to fool around again, Charlie was not interested.’
Meanwhile on Wednesday, Sheen emerged from his parents Martin and Janet Sheen’s home looking defiant while smoking a cigarette in the face of the bombshell allegations against him.
The former ‘Two and a Half Men’ star worked with Haim on the 1986 film ‘Lucas’.
Charlie Sheen on Wednesday responded to a report that he allegedly sexually assaulted Corey Haim when the late actor was 13 years old and Sheen was 19.
“Charlie Sheen categorically denies these allegations,” a rep for Sheen told The Hollywood Reporter.
Haim’s longtime friend, actor Dominick Brascia, told the National Enquirer that Sheen sexually assaulted Haim during that film’s production. Haim’s name has been in the news recently after his mother pushed back on stories from Corey Feldman about the late actor being abused by a Hollywood pedophile ring, which Feldman claims he also fell victim to. The two Coreys were close friends who worked together on a number of ’80s films.
Paedophile former TV weatherman Fred Talbot is facing a further stretch in jail after he pleaded guilty to molesting a 10th victim in his first ever admission to being a sex offender.
The 67-year old ex-This Morning presenter was unexpectedly brought from his prison cell to admit sexually assaulting a youngster in 1980 at a time when he was a biology teacher at an all-boys grammar school.
Talbot is currently serving a five year jail term imposed in Manchester for abusing two former pupils at Altrincham Grammar School for boys in Cheshire in the 1980s.
Last May he was given another four years jail in Scotland for abusing seven more boys during school camping trips in the same period.
Up until now Talbot had always denied wrongdoing – forcing victims to relive their ordeals in the witness box.
Stone Roses singer Ian Brown, a former pupil at the school, twice testified as to what he saw Talbot do to his former classmates. The musician was not a victim of abuse.
This week Talbot was hauled before a Manchester magistrates’ court where he admitted one charge of sexually assaulting a boy aged 16 in the 1980s.
Currently residing at the Category C Wymott jail in Lancashire, he appeared in the dock looking dishevelled and wearing a purple jumper and circular-rimmed glasses.
He spoke to confirm his name and his guilty plea and was muttering throughout the brief hearing. He was sent to crown court for sentencing without any facts of the case being presented. He was remanded back into custody.
District Judge John Timperley told Talbot:
“I am satisfied that this is a case which should be sentenced in the crown court and I am aware that he is already serving a sentence for similar matters. I am committing you for sentence at Minshull Street on the 29th of November. In the meantime you will be remanded in custody because you are already serving a prison sentence.”
Talbot completed his teacher training in Gateshead in the the 1960s before being appointed a biology master at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in 1971. He left in 1984 under a cloud after he propositioned two pupils at his semi-detached home in Bowdon but the scandal was kept a secret and he began presenting regional news programmes for ITV.
He became a weatherman for the ITV’s This Morning in 1988 where he became known for presenting forecasts from a large floating map of the British Isles at the Albert Dock in Liverpool.
His home was raided by police in December 2012, whilst he was on a holiday cruise and he was arrested the following April. He first stood trial in January 2015 accused of abusing four former pupils at Altrincham Grammar and a fifth from the Newcastle area, during a canal holiday.
It was claimed he showed gay pornography during classes and kept diaries detailing his fantasies about boys at the school. In February 2015 Talbot was found guilty of indecent assault against two of the boys and cleared of eight further charges and was subsequently jailed for five years.
But in May this year he appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court and was convicted of indecent assault against seven other boys boys during camping and boating trips to Scotland. He was sentenced to a further four years to start from 14 August, after he had served half of his five year stretch.
All the boys told of their excitement at going on the excursions – sometimes the first time away from their parents – only for Talbot to exploit his position to engineer situations to target them with his sexual advances after plying them with alcohol.
Paedophile former TV weatherman Fred Talbot faces a further stretch in jail after he pleaded guilty to molesting a tenth victim in his first ever admission to being a predatory sex offender.
The 67-year old ex-This Morning presenter was brought from his prison cell to admit sexually assaulting a lad in 1980 at a time when he was a biology teacher at an all boys grammar school.
Last May he was given another four years jail in Scotland for abusing seven more boys during school camping trips in the same period.

Up until now Talbot had always denied wrongdoing – forcing victims to relive their ordeals in the witness box.
Stone Roses signer, Ian Brown another former pupil at the school, twice testified as what he saw Talbot do to his former classmates. The rocker was not a victim of abuse.
Talbot was brought before a magistrates court in Manchester where he admitted one charge of sexually assaulting a boy aged 16 in June 1980 in the Trafford area of South Manchester.
Former ITV weatherman jailed for 4 yrs for sexually abusing boys on camping trip
Former television weather presenter Fred Talbot arrives at courtFormer TV
weatherman Fred Talbot has been sentenced to four years in jail for a string of sex offences against schoolboys on trips to Scotland more than three decades ago.
The offences took place on separate occasions during visits to the St Mary’s Loch area near Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway and the Caledonian canal near Inverness.
During the nine day trial at Lanark Sheriff Court, the court heard “overwhelming and compelling evidence” against him, including from Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown – who was a pupil of his –and via video link from a witness in Australia.
Talbot denied all the charges but the jury deliberated for just four hours before convicting him of seven of the nine historical counts against him on 25 May.
Giving evidence Mr Brown, who was not one of Talbot’s victims, said he had been told by a school friend that their teacher had tried to abuse him while they were alone together in a tent.
He said: “Mr Talbot did these trips and he decided who went. You couldn’t just put your name down and say you were going.”
The singer said on the day of the incident, the victim had been invited to the pub with Talbot because “he looked older” and was invited into his tent when they got back.
A short while later, the boy returned to Mr Brown’s tent “in a state” and said Talbot had tried to perform a sex act on him.
Ian Brown of the Stone Roses gave evidence at his trial “I’ve never forgotten it, I was shocked”, he said.
When asked why he had never said anything, the star said Talbot’s media career started after he left the school but he had told “hundreds of people” the story but no one had paid attention.
The witnesses, the majority cannot be named for legal reasons, told of their excitement at going on the excursions – sometimes the first time away from their parents.
Many of them recalled how Talbot used his position to engineer situations to target those he should have been looking after.
The court heard the attacks could be at night when a victim was isolated or after they had consumed alcohol
Sentencing Talbot, Sheriff Nikola Stewart said the pupils that went on trips organised by Talbot had all trusted and liked the teacher.
“They were all utterly unsuspecting of the sexual threat you posed,” she told the former weatherman.
Sheriff Stewart said he had “utter disregard” for his duties as a teacher and the boys he preyed on were “too embarrassed and disempowered” to report his “disgraceful behaviour”.
Dressed in a grey shirt and striped tie, Talbot was led down from the dock before being transported back to prison.
These assaults are believed to have taken place on school canal barge trips in the Cheshire area in the mid-1970s.
The former TV personality became known for presenting This Morning‘s weather reports from a large floating map of the British Isles in the Albert Dock in Liverpool until production was moved to London.
He stopped appearing on ITV Granada in December 2012 after Greater Manchester Police first raided his home in connection with the first allegations and was arrested by police in April 2013.
Hughes’ death was caused by liver cirrhosis, a condition caused by long-term liver damage
According to reports, Hughes’ death was caused by liver cirrhosis, a condition caused by long-term liver damage.
He died just over a week after he posted his final tweet on October 8, in which he told his followers he was in hospital.
In August 2014, Hughes wrote in the Irish Times that, “My friends were uncomfortable when I stopped drinking. It made them question their own habits.”
Hughes added: “What is it about the Irish and boozing? Does it come from our grand tradition of needing to speak with a drink in our hand? Maybe it comes from the fact that alcohol was put out of our reach when we were kids. We all want what we can’t have. My dad had a habit of dropping in to the pub while leaving us in the car outside with the promise of rich pickings of Coke and crisps. We would while away the hours by nodding at the other kids parked up in other cars as we all looked to the warm glow of the pub.”
But what is cirrhosis?
Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver caused by long-term liver damage. The scar tissue prevents the liver working properly.
Cirrhosis can eventually lead to liver failure, where your liver stops working, which can be fatal.
There’s currently no cure for cirrhosis. But it’s possible to manage the symptoms and any complications, and slow its progression.
Symptoms
You may not have any symptoms during the early stages of cirrhosis. As your liver becomes more damaged, you may:
feel very tired and weak
feel nauseous
lose your appetite
lose your sex drive
As the condition gets worse, further symptoms can include:
yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes (jaundice)
vomiting blood
itchy skin
dark, tarry-looking poo
a tendency to bleed or bruise more easily
swollen legs (oedema) or tummy (ascites) from a build-up of fluid
What causes cirrhosis?
In the UK, the most common causes of cirrhosis are:
drinking too much alcohol over many years
being infected with hepatitis for a long time, particularly hepatitis C
non-alcoholic steatohepatitis – a more severe form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, where the liver becomes inflamed as the result of a build-up of excess fat
Ex-EastEnders actor Joseph Shade was handed an 18-month suspended jail term
AN ex-EastEnders actor has today dodged jail after admitting sexual offences against three teenage girls while in a position of trust as a youth worker.
On the fourth day of his trial, Shade, of Sheringham, Norfolk, changed his pleas.
The 24-year-old admitted five counts of causing or inciting a child under 18 to engage in sexual activity while in a position of trust and one count of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.
A further five sexual offence charges will lie on file.
Judge Maureen Bacon QC, sentencing Shade on Friday, told him: “You sought to engage vulnerable teenage girls in sexual activity when you were in a position of trust.”
He relied on support from loved ones after admitting offences against three teen girlsAt the time, prosecutor David Wilson said:“He himself attended that youth project as a young person and got help from them.
“As he reached the age of 18 he became formally employed as a youth worker and in this capacity as a youth worker he then engaged with many young people who came from similar backgrounds and vulnerabilities as he had.
“During the course of his employment he accepts by his pleas that his relationships became too close to a number of attendees and he would engage with them by texting them messages asking them to have sex or to send sexual pictures of breasts and the like.
“On one occasion and only one occasion he touched one of them.”
Mr Wilson said Shade had no previous convictions and was “tearful and expressed a degree of remorse” when he was interviewed by police.
Shade was bailed by Judge Maureen Bacon who warned he could be sent to prison.
The ex-TV actor was charged with the offences in October following an investigation by Norfolk Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit.
The trial of Shade, who lives with his girlfriend, was due to last five to six days.
After starring in the soap Shade became a youth worker
Shade was handed an 18-month prison sentenced suspended for 24 months, a five-year sexual harm prevention order barring him from working with children and vulnerable adults, and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
He must also sign the Sex Offenders Register and complete a 60-day offender programme.

Mr. Downy is one of a long line of stars to come forward to expose pedophilia in politics and the entertainment industry, but up to know, he’s been the most forth coming with names and details.
In a statement, he said one of his reasons is that he wants to “right some wrongs”, adding:
“I have no issue with ANYTHING people voluntarily do in their private life as long as it is consenting – (kids and animals cannot consent!), and NOT hurting another mentally or physically.”
Robert Downy Jr. stunning exposé states:
I am a FORMER personal “friend” of a woman named Diana Jenkins. Doubt you know her, but she’s the Rosetta Stone of every scandal and perversion from Hwood all over the globe.
She’s an Uber-wealthy divorcee whose hubby ran UK’s Barclay’s bank – and she ran the Arab investors for the bank!
She’s been running a high-class call girl/party-girl ring for Arabs, Wall Street, DC, Royals, and Hollywood elites. She’s also a MAJOR philanthropist, arts supporter, political donor, and social hostess to EVERYONE.
Her best Hwood pals include Sean Penn, Clive Davis [Whitney Houston’s mentor], Ari Emanuel, George Clooney, Cindy Crawford, and her “little pet” named Hayden [Hayden “Leslie P” Panettiere].
Diana is the connector of wealthy Arabs and Asians and Athletes with Hwood actresses/models. She also is a sick and twisted b*tch.
When Hayden and her own Mommy went on the outs, Diana Jenkins took that place in her life, by Hayden’s choice.
Leslie P. is not just a poor victim in this train wreck. Trust me. She’s at LEAST 50% responsible (if not more) for encouraging, enabling, and at times even participating in her hubby’s twisted fucking life.
Leslie’s kinks cross the line into depravity, illegality, and inhuman sickness. As in Ryan ONeal, John Phillips, Tish Cyrus, and Dan Schnieder territory. (Far worse than Pimpa Joe Simpson!)
She’s not just had chances to stop it or walk away with the kids, but she elected to not protect her kids – and give in to the hedonistic sickness in her bedroom (all for her own greed). You think Dina Lohan is bad?
It’s easy to argue that Hayden is forever a victim which drives her own insane life choices – and I’m not a psychologist – but she has taken it further into becoming a willing perpetrator of it (and saying she loves it).
Not just the physical and mental violence she enjoys, but her insatiable appetite for the most bizarre shit she can indulge in to “top” herself.
She was offered help by some who genuinely cared for her and worried for her. She mocked them and tore off on her own streak. Now? She craves it and considers nothing taboo. NOTHING! Just ask Mario Lopez.
Diana Jenkins is fairly unheard of, yet, she’s one of the most powerful people in America.
According to Jezebel, Robert Downy Jr. has also made allegations about the sexual perversions of actor turned Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider and implications that Diana Jenkins’ coffee table book Room 23 is actually a catalog of clients and call girls.
He went on to follow up on his statement on a positive note by declaring that there are also good people in Hollywood and even gave a list of name of those who are “no saints” but are NOT pedophiles, saying:
There are some AWESOME and GOOD people in Hollywood. Sadly, you don’t get ink for being good. (That’s twisted, yes I know).
But consider Hwood as a microcosm of the world: Recall the Your Turn about the gross/sick teacher pedos? You knew TONS of them right? But imagine trying to list the GOOD and moral teachers? Would take forever.
On the news, each day, all we hear are BAD THINGS and bad people. It’s what sells and intrigues. We ALL love Blinds and gossip because we’re human. Flawed, but human. Sometimes you just need to realize that Hwood is no more fucked up than the rest of the world – we just get more coverage – in a 24/7 scandal cycle.
So yes, a few awesome Hwood people I know personally: (They have flaws and are not perfect, but they are GREAT people who are the opposite of the other sick fucks):
David Kelley John Hughes (was the best) Natasha Gregson Wagner Bryan Lourd Neil Patrick Harris Jon Hamm Guy Ritchie Tommy Lee Jones Susanna Hoffs Kevin Kline & Phoebe Cates Drew Barrymore Steve Martin Rachel McAdams Bob Kosberg Sofia Coppola Zoe Cassavetes Moon Zappa Brad Pitt John Favreau Amber Heard Jerry Bruckheimer Molly Ringwald Tom Hanks Rob Reiner Susan Downey Will Staeger Miranda Cosgrove Seth Macfarlane Richard Lovett Johnny Depp Akiva Goldsman Alan Horn Elton John Kate Beckinsale Ron Meyer and yes…even Mel Gibson (faults and all.)
And about 2,000 other people whose names you’d never recognize. They’re not angels, and not perfect – neither am I. But they are REAL people who know what it means to be a real friend. 🙂
Who is Diana Jenkins
One of the major players in Robert Downy Jr. exposé was a woman named Daina Jenkins.
Sanela Diana Jenkins is a Bosnian-born former refugee who was married to a top banker and former head of Barclays bank in the UK, Roger Allan Jenkins.
In 2008 he played a key role in a £7.3 billion investment in Barclays made by the ruling families of Abu Dhabi and Qatar, and by the Qatari sovereign wealth fund. Since 2011 he has been a member of the Management Committee and Investment Committee of the Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual.
Estimates suggested that in 2005 Jenkins made somewhere between £40 million and £75 million, making him reputedly the highest paid banker in the City of London.
Diana Jenkins has since divorced Roger Allen Jenkins and relocated to California where she has established herself as one of the most powerful and influential people in America, yet, has somehow remained in the shadows.
She is a major investor and project stakeholder in the Clinton Foundation, and in March 2010, she raised more than $1 million for Bill and Hillary Clinton’s“charitable” organization.
It has also been alleged that she is connected to global human trafficking networks, and if what Mr. Downy is saying is correct, she may be one of the biggest players in the largest trafficking and pedophilia rings in the United States, if not the world.
Robert Downy Jr. coming forward in this way has been an extremely brave move and a sign that the veil is slowly being lifted.
In recent times, other celebrities such as Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Brad Pitt, and Elija Wood, to name just a few, have spoken up to warn the public about the abuse that is being suffered at the hands of wealthy, powerful Elites.
“It was always very frustrating to be told I’d had a perfect life when people never had a clue.” Musician Anoushka Shankar on speaking out and feeling hope
“THE thing I want to know. Anoushka,” I ask the woman on the other end of the line, “is this. How bloody difficult is it to learn to play the sitar?”
Anoushka Shankar’s laughter glissandos down the scale. “It’s really hard,” she finally says as the ripples of amusement fade from her voice. “Obviously I haven’t played every other instrument to compare it to but people who play other instruments tell me that it’s way harder than other string instruments.”
Well, yes, given that your average sitar is on average 4ft tall, and has somewhere in the region of 20 strings, that doesn’t surprise me.
“It’s just difficult, to start with, to hold the instrument right, to get the positioning right,” Shankar continues. “It’s incredibly painful – the way it cuts into your fingers as you bend the fret. From the beginning it’s very challenging.”
And that’s before you get to the music itself, she adds. Those complex, intricate, immense, ever-shifting ragas.
Ah yes. As Yehudi Menuhin once noted: “It is quite impossible for an idiot to play beautiful Indian music.”
Anoushka Shankar is no idiot. She has been playing the sitar since she was seven years old. These days she is rather good at it.
But perhaps, as her surname might suggest, she started with an inbuilt advantage.
Ravi Shankar – or Dad, as Anoushka is qualified to call him – was the man who introduced the instrument to the West via the Beatles. He taught George Harrison and worked with Menuhin. And, yes, he taught his daughter too.
Since her father’s death, Shankar, 36, is perhaps the most famous sitar player in the world, working the instrument on a number of increasingly adventurous collaborative albums that forge links between Indian music and other world musical traditions.
You can hear that appetite on her most recent album Land Of Gold, which manages to nest her sitar-playing in a sound-bed that takes in electronica, Sri Lankan rapper MIA, the German-Turkish singer Alev Lenz and, um, Vanessa Redgrave. The album is the foundation for her show at this year’s Edinburgh International Festival on Wednesday. (I’m guessing neither Vanessa nor MIA will be in attendance.)
In that sense, Shankar’s work is just as collaborative and outward-looking as her father’s, you might argue. “Yeah, very much so,” she agrees.
What is different, she points out, is that Ravi Shankar was doing it before anyone else. “He was a pioneer, the first person to bring Indian music to the West. So if you analyse his collaborations they were very much in the teacher-student capacity, whether it was with Menuhin or any of the other people or orchestras he wrote compositions for. They are very much Indian music written for Western musicians or instruments.
“Several generations on, it’s more about dialogue and cross-collaboration. In my music, like other artists in my timeframe, it’s a two-way dialogue where I am interested in being the student and sharing my music, but also seeing what my sitar can do. Can my sitar play outside of its genre as well?”
Land Of Gold is proof that it can. It’s also proof that she is not just her father’s daughter. But questions about her father are inevitable. What I want to know, is did she pester her dad for Beatles stories when she was younger?
“Stories were fast and furious in our house,” she says. “There were so many historical titbits and funny stories. Not the Beatles. But George was a big part of our lives as I was growing up.”
Ravi Shankar was already a musical superstar when his daughter was born in 1981. He was also 61, had been married and divorced, and had had an affair with a New York music promoter (Sue Jones, mother of the singer Norah).
Anoushka Shankar’s mother Sukanya was a friend. After Anoushka was born, Sukanya was a single parent in London. She and her daughter would perhaps see Ravi twice a year back then. The daughter didn’t even know the musician was her father for the first few years of her life.
And then when Anoushka was seven her parents got married and moved the family to California. That’s where the sitar lessons began. “They made a half-sized sitar for me. I know some kids who start on full-size sitars just not picking them off the ground but that seems a bit crazy to me.”
She explains the learning process as an immersion. The music was all around her anyway. She had been watching her father play concerts since she was a baby.
“I already loved the music, I loved hearing it. And day by day I got better. I experienced more of the pleasure of playing.”
From her early teens she began to play regularly with her father and continued up until his death in 2012. She was in the middle of making her seventh album, Traces Of You, when he died. When she returned to the studio her half-sister Norah joined her to record tracks. Music has always been a family business for Shankar. It remains so today.
These days Shankar lives in London with her husband, the film director Joe Wright, and their two young sons Zubin and Mohan. Wright, best known for directing Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, met Shankar over dinner in Delhi when he was visiting India on research in 2009. They married the following year.
Motherhood changes a musician, Anoushka Shankar reckons. “Unequivocally. I do know some musicians who are very wrapped up in their music and the music feeds itself. That’s where they get their inspiration from. But I’m the kind of person who needs to be in the world. I’m very connected to my life and to people and that’s where I get my inspiration from.
“And so becoming a parent …” She breathes in. “It feels like a big before and after chapter in my life where my music-making has really changed since I had my boys.”
Wright is, readers will be pleased to learn, hands-on in the childcare department. “Joe totally does his share. What’s great is the longer we’re married the more we’re willing to examine things and change them as needed. We’re both on board with everything.”
And motherhood, Shankar says, has also made her a better musician in a way. “Being a parent is now the biggest thing in my life so there’s a lighter touch I have in my music now. It’s my outlet. It’s my fun. It’s my creativity. And that’s actually made me write a lot more easily.”
But parenthood has also seeped into what she wants to write about. In 2015, Anoushka Shankar needed to make a new album. That’s how the business works. But what emerged was about more than just commercial reality.
“I had just had my second son in February and I knew by some time in the autumn I wanted to be working on new music,” she recalls.
“But what happened was, I was kind of in this blissed-out cocoon. I wasn’t really reading the newspapers. I was just home with my family. And then after two or three months of that, in the summer of 2015, I poked my head back out into the world and I was overwhelmed and horrified by the news.”
That was the summer of the mass migrations of refugees to Europe from the Middle East. Every night on the television, footage of frighteningly overcrowded boats full of desperate people filled the screen.
“Having been in a mother-and-child bubble to then see image after image of families just trying to be safe …” Her voice trails off.
She remembers reading a story in one of the tabloids. It wasn’t so much the story itself as the below-the-line comments on the website that horrified her. The inhumanity of the responses.
“The way that people could view other people. The level of disconnect humanity can reach. When you can’t even view a child crying on a boat with compassion any more … That absolutely broke me.”
All that anger and pain was channelled into her charity work and activism. But it also fuelled her music.
“Basically in the first week I sat with musicians and we were writing music and by the third song we realised that that was what the album was about because there was a story that could be told.”
Land Of Gold was the result. But what is Anoushka Shankar’s land? Where are her roots? She lives in London, grew up in the US and has so many ties with India, the land of her father.
They are all part of her make-up, but Shankar does not identify with any particular nationality. “I get frustrated by the limitations it imposes. Look at the disasters we create ourselves based on national identities.
“I think culture can be something that can be really beautiful. So sharing artistic culture has huge benefits. And obviously being who I am and the music I play, you would assume I value that.
“But I don’t value personhood being attached to nationalities. We’re people. We have opinions. We have feelings.
“On social media I can write something [about events in India] and it’s amazing the number of people who go: ‘That’s not India. How do you say that when you’re in England?’
“Why shouldn’t I? That kind of thing is bullsh** to me really. And I think it creates a lot of problems in the world.”
This is Shankar now. A strong, confident woman who has found her voice outwith music and is speaking out more and more.
Never more so than in 2013, when she recorded a video for the One Billion Rising campaign to combat violence against women and children. The video was a response to the horrific rape and murder of 23-year-old student Jyoti Singh on a bus in Delhi in December the previous year.
In the video, Shankar revealed that as a child she had been the victim of sexual abuse herself. Her parents had known and trusted the man who abused her.
She wasn’t really ready for the reaction to the video when it went viral. Having to talk about what had happened for the next year felt raw, she admits.
But she also found a liberation in speaking out. “I think that’s because I did it for the right reason, as part of feeling like there needed to be more awareness of how sexual violence affects everyone, particularly in India.
“I think my motives were right, so I didn’t feel I had just done a tell-all. There was something about being able to let go a secret that I’d carried for so long.”
It also countered the idea that, given her background, someone as privileged as her should not have a voice at all.
In the media, Shankar says, she could sometimes be portrayed as a princess. “The angle was very much: ‘Silver spoon. Nothing bad’s ever happened to her. She’s been given this career platform and it’s all great.’ It was always very frustrating to be told I’d had a perfect life when people never had a clue.”
We’ve come a long way from the difficulty of playing the sitar, haven’t we? When she looks around, I ask her, can she see any hope in the world? Or is there nothing but despair?
“June 24 last year [the day after the EU referendum], I felt despair. November after the American election I felt despair. But you keep seeing these uprisings. The feminist movement is rising up again among younger people who don’t want their rights taken away from them. You see people getting fired up.”
She cites the British election and the galvanising of the youth vote in the summer. “And then on a cheesy but also true level I look at my own two kids laughing and that helps. There’s beauty to fight for.”
This is a family story. But then, aren’t they all?
Actor Jodie Foster has revealed an incident that happened to her when she was just a child where a sleazy Hollywood Elite attempted to lure her into a rape.
The two-time Oscar winning former child star revealed during an interview that a top producer tricked her into a pedophile trap by faking a movie role opportunity when he knew her parents were away.
Hollywood’s reputation with child stars has been far from squeaky-clean recently, especially in light of ’80s child star Corey Feldman’s claims that he and late co-star Corey Haim were sexually abused by a pedophile ring.
With recent revelations from Brad Pitt, Katy Perry and Elijah Wood on the depths of pedophilia in show business and politics, the world’s child abusing elite are finally running out of places to hide.
The Fix reports: Jodie Foster has shared a disturbing story about her own experience as a 14-year-old in Hollywood, in an interview with SBS’ The Feed last night.

The 53-year-old revealed that a male producer called her while she was at a friend’s sleepover and “pretended” that she’d missed a meeting, knowing that her mother was out of town.
“He had me come to the appointment and was talking to me, and asked me to take my jacket off and turn around so he could see my body,” Jodie recalled.
“You know, I was 14 and kinda chubby with pimples and whatever. But yeah…my agent went to his office and punched him in the face.”
Luckily, she was able to escape before things turned much worse, but unfortunately, a lot of other children aren’t so lucky.
Former child star Corey Haim was raped multiple times by “major Hollywood moguls” along with his best friend Corey Feldman.
Feldman has since attributed his friends abuse to his problems in later life with drink and drugs that eventually led to his premature death.
Jodie also opened about the pressures of being her family’s meal ticket from a young age, after acting in her first ad when she was three and scoring her first Oscar nomination for Taxi Driver at just 14.
“There’s a lot of pressure that comes with being the breadwinner,” she told host Marc Fennell. “I was the only source of income in our entire family.”

Justin Bieber told the congregation at a Bible class in L.A. that the music industry is controlled by the worst kind of people – pedophiles.
Justin Bieber told hundreds of people at a Bible study class in Los Angeles that he has “woken up” to the “evils of the music industry” and he needs to take a break from the industry because it is “controlled by the absolute worst kind of people – pedophiles.”
Bieber has become a regular at the Bible study class held at the Montage in Beverly Hills and on Saturday 22nd July he shared what he described as a “horrific story” with the congregation and explained why he felt he had to quit his world tour.
Describing a party on tour – attended by the upper echelon of the music business, including executive VPs of development, producers, power agents and international financiers – Bieber said he was encouraged to sexually abuse a young child who had been bought to the party for the sexual gratification of the industry elite.
“I didn’t want to do this. I really didn’t. They said this kid was drugged, it was horrible,” Bieber said, explaining that it was made clear to him that he would gain entry to the “business side of the industry” if he “joined the club” by passing the initiation rites.
“I wouldn’t just be a performer, I’d be a mogul. That path would open up for me, like it did for Jay-Z.”
“It’s the difference between being a millionaire and being a billionaire.”
But Bieber told the congregation that he couldn’t do it.
“To join the club I’d have to do bad things to this poor kid. But then I realized that even that wasn’t enough for them. I’d also have to kill this little child.”
Bieber said he had heard rumors about this type of initiation in the music industry, but he had not been confronted with it before.
“I got told they secretly film these parties. Once they’ve got you on video doing something like that, they own you.”
Bieber said his conscience is clear because he didn’t participate, but the fate of the drugged child is haunting him.
“They said this kid was raped by a few different guys. They said he was bleeding. I got out of there but I heard he died and that haunts me.”
Justin Bieber outside the Montage in Beverly Hills.
This allegation from Justin Bieber adds to the wave of accusations made by celebrities and musicians about the real nature of the music and entertainment industry elite.
Corey Feldman and Elijah Wood have both gone on record exposing the pedophilia at the heart of Hollywood. According to Elijah Wood, innocent young lives are destroyed to satisfy “people with parasitic interests” who “see you as their prey.”
In an interview with the Sunday Times, Wood dropped a series of bombshells about the pedophiles that run the industry, noting that “Clearly something major was going on in Hollywood. It was all organized.”
If you read the Washington Post or watch CNN, pedophilia is not a problem, and those who talk about it are tinfoil hat wearing kooks perpetuating ‘fake news.’
But more and more stars are coming forward with similar stories about the depraved Hollywood and music industry system.
Close friends of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington claim the recently deceased pair were working on exposing the pedophile ring working at the heart of the music industry – and it cost them their lives.
Justin Bieber shocked his fans by cancelling his world tour and announcing that he needed some time away from the music industry. But as more information comes to light, it appears he made the best possible decision.
FORMER TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been convicted of a string of historical sex offences against schoolboys in his care during trips to Scotland.
A jury found the 67-year-old guilty of indecently assaulting seven teenage boys during camping and boating trips in the 1970s and 1980s while he was a biology teacher at a school in the Manchester area.
Talbot, of Greater Manchester, had denied the allegations but was convicted of seven of nine charges after a nine-day trial at Lanark Sheriff Court. The jury took four hours over two days to consider their verdict.
The jury found Talbot unanimously guilty of two of the charges against him. The remaining five guilty verdicts were by majority. He was cleared of two charges – one of indecent assault and one of lewd, indecent and libidinous practices – on not proven verdicts.
Talbot, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and tie, sat impassively as the verdict was delivered and sentence was deferred until June 15.
The former television personality, who used to be a regular on the floating weather map in Liverpool’s Albert Dock for ITV’s This Morning show, was previously jailed for five years in Manchester in 2015 for indecently assaulting two schoolboys, the court heard.
Those assaults took place on school canal barge trips in the Cheshire area in the mid-1970s.
The Scottish offences, against boys aged 15 to 17, all took place between 1978 and 1981 and happened during separate trips to two locations – near the St Mary’s Loch area in Moffat, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Caledonian Canal in Inverness in the Highlands.
During the trial, a succession of witnesses, now men in their 50s who cannot be named for legal reasons, told of their initial excitement at going on the trips – sometimes the first time away from their parents.
At the time, Talbot was a young teacher with a more relaxed attitude than others and would talk to the boys about topics such as pop music, alcohol and sex, the court heard.
The men went on to recount how Talbot abused his position of trust to attack them more than 35 years ago.
One man told the court he was indecently assaulted as a teenage boy after a visit to the pub on a camping trip left him “very much the worse for wear”.
The witness told of his “horror” when he awoke – after being “singled out” to go to the pub – to find Talbot touching him in a tent when he was partially clothed.
Another witness gave evidence over a video link from Australia to recount how he awoke in his tent to find Talbot making a sexual advance on him.
A further witness said he was left “petrified” when Talbot indecently assaulted him on a trip to the Caledonian Canal in 1979.
Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, 54, who was not an alleged victim, also gave evidence at the trial and said he has never forgotten the moment Talbot invited one of his young friends to sleep in his tent on a school camping trip.
He told how Talbot would regularly talk about trips during class but would only invite certain people to go on the excursions.
After the verdicts were delivered, prosecutor Imran Bashir told the court Talbot is still serving the sentence imposed on him in England.
Sheriff Nikola Stewart called for a criminal justice social work report and a risk assessment to be carried out before she sentences Talbot in three weeks’ time.
Detective Inspector Bryan Lee, senior investigating officer at Police Scotland, said: “Fred Talbot is a sexual predator who hid behind a mask of respectability.
“He used his position as a teacher to engineer situations which allowed him to isolate and target his victims.
“He took advantage of his position of trust to abuse young men in his care.
TV weatherman Fred Talbot tells jury he is ‘hurt’ by child sex abuse claims
The former teacher, 67, denies molesting nine schoolboys on camping trips to Dumfriesshire and Inverness
TV weatherman Fred Talbot has denied claims he molested schoolboys during camping trips to Scotland.
Talbot, 67, is on trial at Lanark Sheriff Court accused of indecently assaulting nine boys during trips between 1978 and 1981.
The former This Morning star has told a jury he has been left ‘hurt’ by claims he plied teenagers with alcohol before attempting to molest them as they returned to tents.
Under questioning from defence lawyer Alan Gravelle, Talbot said his media career began in 1976 and led to him presenting the weather on This Morning with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan in the 1990s.
He said he had been a biology teacher at a grammar school in the Manchester area and regularly took pupils on school trips to Moffat, Dumfriesshire, and the Caledonian Canal in Inverness.
He said he shared tents with pupils but insisted nothing was ever said about him doing so.
But he dismissed earlier claims from alleged victims that he had told boys to bring alcohol on the trips he organised.
Talbot said:
“I was enthusiastically involved with these trips. On the camping trips, there were maybe three or four people to a tent and I just mixed in and there was never any adverse reaction to that. We used to go on the camping trips in autumn and winter so I didn’t see much undress.
“It was that cold the clothes that we wore were the same for the whole trip and the only thing that came off at night was the boots to get into the sleeping bag. It is absolute rubbish to suggest that I would say to someone to bring rum and I just wouldn’t have said it.
“I’m just hurt by these allegations because nothing happened. It might sound daft but I really, really, liked these lads and stayed friends with some of them after school and they said nothing until all of this.
“It just didn’t happen and I don’t know what else to say really.”
Talbot told the court he had hidden his homosexuality while teaching at the school but said it later became public knowledge.
And he told how his media career started taking off following regular slots on a radio show and helping to set questions for the popular TV show, the Krypton Factor.
He said: “My media career started in 1976 when I got a phone-call from BBC Radio Manchester who wanted me to do a talk on the night sky.
“That led to a monthly and then weekly feature on radio and the TV stuff followed.
“I wrote the science questions for the Krypton Factor and worked for the most part with ITV.
“I was then on This Morning with Richard and Judy and we had a big floating weather map out on the Albert Dock.”
Talbot continued: “My sexuality was secret at the school and if it had come out it would’ve caused problems for me.”
The rocker, now 54, said his classmate was left “highly agitated” and fled from sharing a tent with Talbot after the former teacher “tried to touch him.”
Witness Brown, who attended Altrincham grammar school in Greater Manchester in the 1970s, said the boy “dived” to get away from Talbot who he had been sharing a tent with for around 15 minutes.
The trial before Sheriff Nikola Stewart continues.
The Royle Family star has accused the broadcaster of being an Mi5 spy who helped put him and other striking workers behind bars in the 70s
Richard Whiteley is best remembered as the jovial host of Countdown, but Ricky Tomlinson has claimed there was a darker side to the popular presenter.
The Royle Family star has accused the broadcaster of being an Mi5 spy who helped put him and other striking workers behind bars in the 70s.
And he said had he know of his alleged involvement in the plot when he appeared on Countdown he would have throttled him.
Whiteley fronted a documentary called Red Under The Bed that showed unions in a bad light and was screened as the jury in Ricky’s trial was out deliberating. The presenter’s partner Kathryn Apanowicz laughed off suggestions her husband was a spy as “nonsense”.
But Ricky claimed: “Richard was a member of the security services, people didn’t know that, obviously.”The security services paid to have the programme made, so they had to use someone of their own ilk to be the chairperson. It was common knowledge. “The security services use media people as part of the intelligence services. I must have done Countdown four or five times.
“I didn’t know at the time, I wish I had known, I’d have strangled him. There’s all sorts of people involved. It was a carve up right from the go.”
Ricky, 77, claims he has leaked, confidential documents which link then-PM Ted Heath and politician Woodrow Wyatt to the documentary, which he believes swayed the jury into convicting him of conspiracy to intimidate, unlawful assembly and affray
But asked where the papers came from, he added: “I can’t reveal my sources, we’d be hung, drawn and quartered. People would lose their jobs.”
Ricky took part in a 12 week building workers’ walkout in 1972, demanding better wages and safety regimes.
Months after the dispute ended, he was one of 24 strikers held over picket line clashes. Six went on trial the following year at Shrewsbury crown court and he was jailed for two years, serving 16 months.
Ricky believes the documentary prompted two jurors to change their original verdicts to guilty.
The hour-long film was followed by a 30-minute studio discussion, chaired by Whiteley.
But radio presenter Kathryn, who was his partner from 1994 until his death at the age of 61, branded the claims a “load of tripe”.
She added: “He couldn’t even keep a secret, how would he be good in MI5?
“I knew everything about Richard and this is nonsense. He could hardly work his mobile phone, never mind gadgets, he’d have been hopeless.
“I’m slightly annoyed because it’s easy to cast aspersions on somebody who has died, because you can’t libel the dead.
“It’s nice that Ricky is managing to get a lot of publicity from somebody who can’t defend himself.”
But she insisted Whiteley had a sense of humour and would be “looking down, laughing his head off” at the claims
Kathryn added: “A friend said, ‘Did you realise you were a spy’s mole?’ Maybe I could have a new career? Please tell Daniel Craig I’m available.”
Ricky has for many years been trying to clear the names of the strikers, known as the Shrewsbury 24. In 2002, it was revealed Mi5 had been monitoring him.
Ricky said he plans to reveal the small amount of documents he has. He added: “There will be a few more things coming to light in the next few weeks.”
Meanwhile Countdown co-host Carol Vorderman reveals she’s undecided about Ricky’s claims.
She told the Mirror: “Whiters was a mystery and he was amazing and charming and very bright – which he managed to hide well a lot of the time on Countdown! Ha.
I’d be fascinated to see Ricky’s evidence. However, if he was a spy then he never mentioned it to me or gave any of us reason to believe he was one.
“But then again, if he was a spook, he wouldn’t exactly shout about it.
“He was, as I would often call him, a complete cult. Now, perhaps, he has become an enigma of a certain variation…With love, Mata Hari.”
Richard Whiteley’s wife denies claims Countdown host worked for MI5
Actor Ricky Tomlinson claims he has evidence that the presenter collaborated in a secret plot to get him jailed.
Kathryn Apanowicz says Tomlinson’s claims about her husband are nonsense
By Duarte Garrido, Entertainment Reporter
The wife of late broadcaster Richard Whiteley has denied “ridiculous” claims that her husband worked for MI5.
Kathryn Apanowicz said Whiteley’s asthma and poor grasp of technology and maths meant there was no chance he could have coped with a secret career in espionage.
It comes after actor and union activist Ricky Tomlinson accused the former Countdown host of conspiring with the Government and orchestrating a plot to have him and a group known as the Shrewsbury 24 jailed.
Tomlinson said a documentary presented by Whiteley, entitled Red Under The Bed, was propaganda designed to influence a jury that went on to convict him for offences linked to the 1972 builders’ strike.
The Royle Family star said he has classified documents which show the then prime minister, Sir Edward Heath, and Labour MP Woodrow Wyatt were involved in the conspiracy.
Tomlinson was convicted for offences linked to the 1972 builders’ strike
“We found out this week that the film was designed, written, made and paid for by the security services,” Tomlinson told the Chester Chronicle.
“Woodrow Wyatt was a member of the security services and, unbelievably, so was Richard Whiteley, who hosted the show.”
Apanowicz, who was married to Whiteley for 11 years, branded the claims “ridiculous” and said the family had been in “hysterics”.
Whiteley died in 2005 aged 61 after undergoing heart surgery
“Really and truly, Ricky Tomlinson should take a long, hard look at himself and stop casting such stupid aspersions because it’s nonsense, he’s made himself look a bloody fool,” she said.
The actress said Whiteley, who died in 2005 after undergoing heart surgery, “was the most indiscreet person” she knew, and “could not keep a secret for toffee”.
“Number one, he had an asthma inhaler so running around and escaping from whoever was chasing after him, he wouldn’t be able to do that,” she said.
“He couldn’t work technology, it’s nonsense. In those days, he didn’t have an Aston Martin, he had a brown Ford Escort,” she added.
“He couldn’t do maths – he used to struggle with the Conundrum.”
The mystery over Richard Whiteley’s alleged links to MI5 has taken a new twist after it emerged the Countdown star went to Moscowat the height of the Cold War.
Mr Whiteley was part of a group of space enthusiasts visiting the Soviet Union in 1974 under the guidance of eccentric astronomer Patrick Moore.
The news will fuel rumours of the presenter’s links to the world of spycraft, which were started by actor Ricky Tomlinson but dismissed as ‘nonsense’ by former friends.
Mr Whiteley was one of ’20 or 30′ people on the trip who were ‘all space geeks’, a woman who took part told Sean O’Neill ofThe Times.
She said of Mr Whiteley, who presented a current affairs show for Yorkshire Television at the time: ‘I don’t know why he was on tour, no idea where he was there.’
However, the lady – now an academic – said that ‘not at one moment’ did she think he was a spy.
Mr Tomlinson, 77, made the startling claim that Whiteley worked for MI5 in an interview as he opened a relaunched Wetherspoons pub in Chester.
But Whiteley’s girlfriend when he died, Kathryn Apanowicz, 56, a presenter with BBC Radio York, said: ‘It is absolute bloody nonsense, there is no truth in it whatsoever.

Sir Patrick Moore, the astronomer and Sky at Night presenter who inspired a generation of stargazers, pictured in a photo released after his death in October 2012
‘If Richard was a member of the secret service then maybe Ken Dodd was in charge of MI5.
‘He couldn’t keep a secret to save his life and he certainly wasn’t a spy; in the Seventies he was driving around in a Ford Escort.’
Mr Whiteley was a student at Cambridge University between 1962 and 1965, graduating with a third-class degree in English from Christ’s College.
The university is known to be a recruiting ground for the secret services and was attended by the notorious double agents Kim Philby and Anthony Blunt.
But Gyles Brandreth, who was a regular on Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, said he had known Whiteley for 40 years and never got any hint he was a spy.
And former Conservative MP Jonathan Aitken, who knew Whiteley, called the claims ‘pretty good baloney’.
Mr Tomlinson, a socialist activist, claims Mr Whiteley influenced the jury when he was jailed in 1973 for conspiracy to intimidate, unlawful assembly and affray.
Along with his ‘Shrewsbury Two’ partner Des Warren, the actor had helped to organise the first national building workers’ strike in the upstairs room of the same Wetherspoons pub where he first aired the claims, The Bull & Stirrup.
He believes that the jury’s decision to convict him may have been swayed by an ITV documentary which featured the defendants that was aired on the day they retired to deliver their verdict – and which was fronted by Mr Whiteley.
He alleges the secret services wrote, produced and funded the documentary.

A woman who was part of the visit to Moscow said of Mr Whiteley, who presented a current affairs show for Yorkshire Television at the time: ‘I don’t know why he was on tour’
He told the Chester Chronicle: ‘I’ve got documents at home, which are printed “confidential”, “strictly confidential”, “not to be seen”, but it involves the likes of Ted Heath, Woodrow Wyatt.
‘And we’ve just discovered that they made a film which went out on television the night the jury were out considering the verdict called Red Under the Bed and it was so anti-trade union that two of the jury changed their mind and brought a majority verdict in of 10-2 guilty.’
He added: ‘We found out this week that the film was designed, written, made and paid for by the security services.
‘Woodrow Wyatt was a member of the security services and unbelievably so was Richard Whiteley who hosted the show.’
The 12-week strike took place after UK building contractors imposed what trade unionists called ‘bogus self-employment’ rules on their workforce.
The 1973 trial was seen at the time as an attempt to shackle militant, rank-and-file trade unionism.

Mr Tomlinson, who appeared alongside Caroline Aherne in Royle Family, said the union meetings were held in The Bull & Stirrup where all the decisions were made.
In December 2015, former shadow home secretary Andy Burnham released documents showing that former prime minister Edward Heath’s cabinet and the security services influenced the Red Under the Bed documentary.
The Shrewsbury 24 campaign is calling for the convictions to be overturned by the Criminal Cases Review Commission.
Mr Tomlinson, who also played Bobby Grant in Brookside, claimed his friend Warren, who died aged 66 in 2004, had effectively served a life sentence, because drugs given to him in prison brought on Parkinson’s Disease.
He said: ‘It killed him, didn’t it? We know of four sedatives that were used on him. We also have certain evidence about a doctor that followed him into jail giving him injections.’
THE ACTIVIST TURNED ACTOR WHO WAS MONITORED BY MI5
Ricky Tomlinson was born as Eric Tomlinson in Blackpool, Lancashire, after his mother Peggy was evacuated there during the Liverpool Blitz in World War II.
A qualified plasterer by trade, he worked on various building sites for many years becoming actively involved in politics – firstly with the far-right, then more predominantly with the far-left.
Along with his ‘Shrewsbury Two’ partner Des Warren, Mr Tomlinson had helped to organise the first national building workers’ strike. He is pictured with his wife Marlene after being freed from Leicester prison
Mr Tomlinson (right), a trade unionist, is pictured left leaving a Trade Union Conference in tears
In 1968, Mr Tomlinson joined the National Front in support of less immigration after Enoch Powell’s Rivers of Blood speech.
His views gradually changed over time and, in 1972, he joined the flying pickets in a building workers’ dispute in Shrewsbury.
The following year, Mr Tomlinson was sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of ‘conspiracy to intimidate’ as one of the so-called Shrewsbury Two, alongside his partner Des Warren.
He was released in 1975, he disrupted the TUC conference by shouting from the wings after he had been prevented from speaking from the stage. It was revealed in 2002 that MI5 had monitored him during the 1970s.
The 12-week strike took place after UK building contractors imposed what trade unionists called ‘bogus self-employment’ rules on their workforce. Mr Tomlinson played an active role in the protests and was later convicted
Whiteley died in 2005. Before Cambridge, he had attended the prestigious Giggleswick School in Yorkshire, where he was taught by TV presenter Russell Harty.
He joined Yorkshire Television in July 1968. In 1982, the channel started to produce Countdown and Whiteley was chosen as host. He remained on the show for 23 years.
For 11 years, he was in a relationship with actress and radio presenter Kathryn Apanowicz until 2005.
Whiteley had a son, James, with fashion journalist and television presenter Lesley Ebbetts who born in 1987.
He also dated Jeni Cropper for 15 years to him in the 1970s and 80s. He also had a brief relationship with Carry On film actress Angela Grant.
“in possession of several weapons and was a danger to the public and himself.”
Where was he? the corner shop? With weapons? & he was physically holding THREE? How does that that work? Did he have 3 in 1 hand? Or, 2 in 1 hand & 1 in other? Or was it a gun in each hand & the knife between his teeth? & he had them displayed for all to see?
“initially negotiated with the man to throw down two guns and a knife”
Well they obviously got him to drop them all anyway.
“man then attempted to retrieve the weapons”
So he was UNARMED?!
“discharged his taser & temporarily incapacitated the man. He then began struggling violently with the officers”
“They were forced to taser him again before being handcuffed”
Why did they not cuff him 1st time? What were the officers doing while he was on the floor? Were they on their tea break?
Surely the whole point of the taser, is that it knocks the suspect to the ground & temporarily makes them unable to move, therefore giving officers time to cuff them safely, no?
This officer seems to think so…
“The TASER works as intended close to 100% of the time, and incapacitates the suspect only as long as to takes to get them under control and in handcuffs. It can be used from as far as 20 feet away, so it can even be used to end foot pursuits. Once the current it turned off and the barbs are removed, the suspect is able to get up and move” SOURCE
As doeswiki! It also states that tasers have a maximum range of 35 ft.
So at ABSOLUTE MOST the coppers could only have been 35 ft away.
So why, after they“negotiated“the weapons from him, didn’t one of them pick them up? They were certainly close enough..
“This was a Life threatening situation”
It was? Really? Okay…. I’m thinking Commissioner Katy is a wee bit o a drama queen!!

Dame Esther Rantzen called for more people to volunteer for Childline after visiting Glasgow and Edinburgh to mark the 30th anniversary of the vital service.
To celebrate the special birthday the Childline founder visited the Scottish Parliament on yesterday evening where she met First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Deputy Presiding Officer, Christine Grahame MSP and Minister for Child Care and Early Years, Mark McDonald MSP.
Pupils from Gallowhill Primary School, in Paisley, who received the NSPCC Childhood Champion Award earlier this year, also attended the event and were given a special award from Dame Esther.
The following day she visited Childline’s Glasgow base to thank volunteer counsellors, fundraisers and supporters including Scotmid. READ IN FULL
CHARITY crusader Dame Esther Rantzen reveals how a heart-to-heart with Nicola Sturgeon this week left her convinced Scotland’s children are in good hands. The ChildLine creator met the First Minister to mark the 30th anniversary of the 24-hour counselling service for kids and young people. And Nicola opened up about her fears for Scotland’s new generation in the digital age.
Telly legend Esther — who had Margaret Thatcher’s full backing when the service was launched in 1986 — explained:
“It is very heartening that whatever their political views, politicians actually understand our concerns. I did say to the First Minister that the table we were sitting at was one of the most important pieces of furniture in the household for families. She agreed and told me that at the end of each day she would sit with her family and all have their tea together. I think we need to create that routine at home again, instead of people going off on their own with a screen and a tray of food. Everyone should have a screen ban when they sit around the table every evening. I used to have a family supper where everybody talked about their day. Even if nothing much happened, it doesn’t matter. Nicola says her fear is that kids will forget how to express their feelings. And she is absolutely right. She is very, very clued in.”
Oooh.. Nikki, you are treadin on VERY thin ice sweetheart. This loving, caring side really is an utter piss take.. WHAT ABOUT THE DOCHERTY KIDS? They haven’t had tea wi their ma & da for EIGHT FUKIN MONTHS!
Ah, but i forgot, they don’t count do they? They are only Scots kids. Had they been Australian, you woulda BENT OVER BACKWARDS tae help them no?!
Dame Esther Rantzen has urged more people to volunteer for Childline as the service she founded marks its 30th anniversary.
She made the call as she visited the charity’s Glasgow base, which has handled 640,799 counselling sessions since it opened in 1990.
Dame Esther said that children today need the service as much as they did when she founded it in 1986.
While abuse, bullying and neglect are still among the most common problems, issues such as cyber-bullying have also emerged in recent years.
She said: “I’ve always believed that children need a service that they can contact when they need to. I think children will always need a service like this.Although some things have improved, I think we’re more aware of things like sexual abuse and children find it a bit easier to talk about now and ask for help now, but when it’s in the family it’s still very difficult. Some new dangers have arrived, like sexting, cyber-bulling, and problems that I don’t remember children bringing to us in 1986 like self-harm and eating disorders which have become almost an epidemic, and the really worrying thing is the number of suicidal young people has doubled in the last five years.”
She believes social media may be contributing to the pressures young people feel, saying:
“I think the illusion of having 1,000 friends doesn’t make up for the fact that there’s nobody you can talk to. Please, can we in the adult world make time and space for the children around us because British children seem less happy than children elsewhere in the world and it’s up to us to make sure that they are feeling confident and loved and secure.”
Dame Esther’s visit to Glasgow was part of a UK-wide tour of Childline centres to mark the free helpline’s 30th birthday while on Wednesday she visited the Scottish Parliament and met First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and other MSPs. READ IN FULL
has demanded the BBC and other broadcasters create dedicated phone lines so that staff can report celebrities they suspect of sexual abuse. The ChildLine founder spoke out after a leaked report into the Jimmy Savile scandal revealed he abused children on BBC property for decades because of a culture of ‘deference’ to celebrities. The former That’s Life star said abuse was still a problem in the industry and added:
‘It is blindingly obvious you need to create and publicise a helpline which junior employees feel they can trust when reporting bullying and sexual misconduct anonymously.Staff have to be given explicit permission to whistleblow and the criticism is that the BBC is still an organisation where it is difficult to tell the boss something that might cost them their job. I’m sure it will happen because Tony Hall is a director-general who deeply cares about the welfare of his staff, but the BBC is not alone in having to deal with this.’READ IN FULL
GRANDFATHER who repeatedly molested a five-year-old girl in a swimming pool at Esther Rantzen’s country home was convicted of indecent assault yesterday. Robert Gillings, 63, who was granted bail pending sentencing, was a guest at the television personality’s holiday home in the New Forest, Hampshire, when he assaulted the girl as she played in the pool, Guildford Crown Court was told. Ms Rantzen was not at the house at the time.
The victim told the jury that the defendant had also assaulted her before the trip to the New Forest. ‘He had said if I told mummy he would kill her,’ she said.
Gillings denied the allegations and claimed that Ms Rantzen’s television work on behalf of abused children must have put ideas into the girl’s head. He said of the swimming pool incident: ‘We were playing tag at the time, swimming backwards and forwards. My fingers caught hold of her bikini just at the bottom or the side somewhere. It was just a bit of fun – it was such an insignificant thing.’
However, the jury of seven women and five men returned a majority verdict after six hours, convicting the defendant of two charges of indecent assault, one of which took place at Ms Rantzen’s house. But they cleared him of two other charges of indecent assault, one in which the girl claimed he had molested her in Ms Rantzen’s changing room.
She said: ‘My daughter suggested we should get an exorcist. It is a happy place for us, or has been. I feel that this place which my family and I have loved – and these children have loved – has indeed been blighted.’
The court was told that the victim’s mother used to work for Ms Rantzen and had been invited to use the country house for a break last summer. The family, who were good friends of Gillings and his wife, invited the retired couple down for the day. The assault took place as a barbeque was being prepared. READ IN FULL
Esther Rantzen has spoken of her revulsion after learning that a former lover has been linked to the child abuse scandal threatening to engulf Westminster.
The broadcaster and Childline founder had an affair with politician Sir Nicholas Fairbairn after they met at a BBC studio in 1966.
But Ms Rantzen has now distanced herself from the late Conservative MP and Solicitor General for Scotland – who died in 1995, aged 61.
The former That’s Life presenter was 26 when she embarked on an affair with the married MP after he appeared as a guest on a BBC show where she was a researcher.
She said: ‘When I knew Nicky he was courteous, charming and very fond of women. He was a high-profile lawyer, who lived in a castle and had a very flamboyant private life. He took me to lunch at the Ritz. He gave me a long-stemmed red rose and ordered Beluga caviar and Krug champagne. If ever there was an aphrodisiac meal that was it. Nicky took to me to some Lord’s house where he was staying and the rest was inevitable.’ READ IN FULL

Illuminati Messiah of 1666Published on 24 Aug 2015
Very few have ever heard of Sabbatai Zevi, who declared himself the Messiah in 1666, proclaiming that redemption was available through acts of sin. Sabbateans encouraged and practiced sexual promiscuity, adultery, incest and religious orgies.
After Sabbati Zevi’s death in 1676, his Kabbalist successor, Jacob Frank, expanded upon and continued his occult philosophy. Jacob Frank would eventually enter into an alliance formed by Adam Weishaupt and Meyer Amshel Rothschild called the Order of the Illuminati. The objectives of this organization was to undermine the world’s religions and power structures, in an effort to usher in a utopian era of global communism, which they would covertly rule by their hidden hand: the New World Order. Using secret societies, such as the Freemasons, their agenda has played itself out over the centuries, staying true to the script. The Illuminati handle opposition by a near total control of the world’s media, academic opinion leaders, politicians and financiers.
