Insider Life: Michael Parsons, estate manager, Birr castle  19/09/2014

“Fortunately for me, our baby Celeste is sleeping right through the night, so I’m up before my wife and daughter most days. If the weather’s nice, I like to put records on in the morning. I’m going through some of my parents’ old records right now and it’s a lovely start to the day. We live on the Birr Castle estate – I live in the Victorian farmyard about a mile from the actual castle – so I cycle to work or walk through the beautiful gardens and make sure everything’s in top shape. All sorts can present themselves when I get to the office, from unblocking a toilet one minute to finding a good spot to plant saplings collected by my father the next. Right now people are coming from all over the world to see the Birr Castle Gardens; the Chinese market has really opened up recently. At lunchtime, I go over to the castle itself and have lunch with my parents. They’ve been living in the castle since 1979 – I was born in 1980, so I grew up there. My brother and sister, and their families, live in or around the castle too. My mum describes it as King’s Cross station – she’s certainly not short for company there. Lunch is a good time to catch up and chat a bit about work. My sister and I have worked very closely refurbishing the Science Centre here recently. She’s a qualified scientist in her own right. We’re all trying to make Birr Castle as best a family destination as we can, and we’re trying to safeguard the longevity of the family living in the castle for generations coming forward.

It’s hard to describe growing up in a castle: I was pretty young when I was sent to boarding school in Meath. I really understood how special it was when I was 17 or 18 and saw how fairytale-like it was. Now that I’ve had a child myself, I realise how fantastic an opportunity it is to grow up with all this space around.

The castle is a bit of a time capsule: it’s very romantic but not necessarily all that glamorous. Certainly, when my brother and sister got back from their travels a while ago, the place was more like something out of The Young Ones than a Ferrero Rocherad. In the winter it’s quite cold because the heating bills for the castle are outrageous.

Birr Castle was opened to the public in the 1960s but people would just wander in and walk around and there wasn’t much in the way of facilities. My father endeavoured to turn it into a viable destination and he turned it into an internationally acclaimed garden.

Do we have to worry about money? Of course. It’s not like we’re breezing off on jets all the time. We’re here and there’s a place for all of us on the estate, but to be here, we have to make a contribution. There are no free rides.

We opened up the castle a bit more in recent times so that people can tour inside. During the summer months it’s possible to have a tour of the hall, the dining room and saloon. My parents were a bit hesitant about it at first as you might imagine, but they’re fine with it now. They have to clear their muddy boots out of the hall and put their coats away. I think my father really enjoys meeting people on the tours, in fact.

In the near future, I’d love to get the science centre carbon neutral and working from hydro power. In my downtime I’m really into gardening. I love being in nature, and enjoying my own little piece of the world. I love listening to music in the evenings too; I’ve picked up lots of African music, jazz and swing recently. This probably sounds a bit daft but I’ve been really enjoying the Gardener’s Question Time podcasts recently. I’m guessing they’re largely for the over-60s but I find them really comforting.

We have revolving house suppers with the family once a week, so there’s a real community feel to life at the castle. In the evenings I love having mint tea, using mint from the garden. There’s a certain point here I don’t need to turn the phone off, and there’s no reception in my house anyway. I try not to think too much about work after a certain time at night… but I’m not overly stressed by the world one way or the other, that’s for sure.”

Brendan Parsons, 7th Earl of Rosse  Wiki

William Clere Leonard Brendan Parsons, 7th Earl of Rosse (known as Brendan;[1] born 21 October 1936), is an Irish peer. He was the eldest son of Laurence Michael Harvey Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse, and Anne (née Messel, mother of Lord Snowdon, by an earlier marriage). Lord Rosse was educated at Eton College, Aiglon College, Grenoble University and Christ Church, Oxford. He was an officer in the Irish Guards from 1955–57 and worked for the United Nations from 1963-80. He succeeded his father in 1979. He lives at Birr Castle, County Offaly. From his birth until he succeeded to the peerage in 1979, he was known as Baron Oxmantown. From 1979 to 2007, Lord and Lady Rosse facilitated many decades of research by A.P.W. Malcomson, former director of the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, and latterly sponsored by the Irish Manuscripts Commission, to enable the production, for the first time, of a comprehensive Calendar of the Rosse Papers in 2008.[citation ] The archive is held in the Muniment Room of Birr Castle. The Calendar is of inestimable value for researchers delving into the history of the Parsons family, including English settlement of the Irish midlands in the 17th century, the Williamite wars, early Irish nationalism, the British navy in the eighteenth century, and nineteenth century science and astronomy, and the fate of the landed gentry in the early twentieth century.[citation]

He married Alison Margaret Cooke-Hurle, daughter of Major John Davey Cooke-Hurle and Margaret Louisa Watson, on 15 October 1966.[2] They have three children:

Travel Through Centuries of Design at Ireland’s Birr Castle   April 30, 2015

Fifteen generations of the Parsons family have lived at Birr, beginning with Sir Laurence Parsons, who took possession of a gatehouse on the site in 1620 and so fortified it that the structure withstood several sieges. Gray limestone climbs and twists on the exterior, all jutting turrets and forbidding crenellation. The entrance is raised high above ground level and reached by a daunting flight of steps: In hostile times access was never meant to be effortless.

Sir Laurence’s descendants—the earls of Rosse since 1806—introduced a gentler ambience indoors. Even so, sequential building and rebuilding has produced labyrinthine corridors that lead and mislead inattentive guests. There are also at least two hidden doors. The one in the library springs open to reveal a drawing room hung with yellow damask; another conceals a staircase that spirals up to a bedroom. The navigationally challenged soon learn that heirlooms—among them a wax bust of Queen Victoria and a cabinet laden with Crown Derby porcelain—can serve as useful markers, reminding one to turn this way rather than that. Birr Castle in County Offaly (the scene of Satanic ritual abuse)

We are inclined to think of child molesters as strange men in dirty macs hanging around street corners looking for unsuspecting prey. This perception is erroneous, since it has been established that the villains are more likely to be the ‘Bastions of Society’ who have an infinite supply of vulnerable victims from children’s homes, who are too afraid to tell. Who would believe them anyway, as the officials in authority they approach for help are usually involved?

CHILD ABUSE LIST; RITUAL ABUSE

Chris Moore has described the sexual abuse of children that took place at the Kincora children’s home in Northern Ireland.

Reportedly, Kincora children were taken to Birr Castle, in County Offaly , in the Irish Republic, an area controlled by the IRA.

The source for this is Dr. Joan Coleman of RAINS (Ritual Abuse Internet Networking Service – OTTAWA RECOVERED MEMORY PAGE)

IrishBlog, asks:

(1) Have any of the boys who attended Kincora gone missing? ( Given that some of those at Kincora may not have had any relatives, there would be grounds here for concern)

(2) Was there a Satanic connection to the Kincora Scandal? (the source, who is a clergyman says there was)

(3)Who were the two clergy who recommended William McGrath for the post of chief administrator at Kincora?

Colin Wallace worked for British Military Intelligence , Misinformation and Psyops Dept , in the 1970s . Wallace was ordered by his superiors to investigate the Kincora Boys Home in east Belfast and the behaviour of William McGrath and the other staff members. The abusers were described in Chris Moore’s and Paul Foot’s books as homosexuals but there are others who would prefer to use the words “child abuse” when it comes to describing the activities of those involved in the Kincora Case. The names McGrath , Semple and Mains are widely known but it has become obvious that there are other names of powerful and well-known people who have connections with the Kincora saga and whose identities the so-called authorities have tried to keep secret since the scandal broke . One such person who has been reported to have visited Kincora is Ted Heath , the former Conservative MP and British PM.

Another name is that of John McKeague , a well known homosexual and a member of a protestant paramilitary group called The Red Hand Commandos . McKeague was associated with McGrath and TARA but there is little mention of McKeague’s connections to Kincora and whether or not he was a visitor to the boys home . There obviously was a connection , as out-lined on page 142 in Paul Foot’s book , “Who framed Colin Wallace”. Foot says that there was a connection between the murder of a ten year old boy called Brian McDermott in 1973 and John McKeague . It was believed that there were sexual and witchcraft connections to the murder of Brian McDermott whose body was dismembered and then burnt before being thrown into the River Lagan .SOURCE

Robin Bryan’s Letter

It is interesting to note that Hailsham has sued neither you nor Century for your widely published allegations, because, of course, as you and Lord Shackleton agree ‘Too much would come out.’  I certainly was not allowed to call Sir Knox Cunningham as a witness for him to describe how he recited Monteith’s ‘disgusting Orangeman’s doggerel’ (Lord Justice Phillimore’s remark) about buggery at political meetings, and how Cunningham himself and his fellow-pederasts in Belfast set up the Forrest Reid Memorial Scheme to further gay cause which Reid spent his life promoting.  Many people thought Cunningham went too far in getting the Queen’s Uncle, Earl Granville, to be Patron of this homosexual outfit.  But it was Lord Mountbattten (Prince Philip’s uncle)who outlived Granville to promote Forrest Reid’s adoration of YOUNG TOM,() the story based on Kenneth Hamilton, whose three-year old relation, still alive today, was raped by Mountbatten’s friend.

In March 1990 Frank Doherty, editor of NOW magazine flew to London to do the next month’s edition about Mountbatten and myself.  After getting material from Mr Ken Livingstone MP and yourself he wrote under the headline, ‘MOUNTBATTEN WAS PART OF A GAY RING WHICH WAS LINKED WITH KINCORA.’

In one letter, of which ‘Now’ has obtained a copy from another source, there is a reference to an alleged incident at Birr, Co Offaly.  It refers to ‘the old snapshots at Birr Castle showing the late Lord Rosse getting Alan Price to flash his prize codpiece for Lord Mountbatten and Anthony Blunt.’  If the judicial inquiry for which some MPs have been calling is set up, inspection of Bryans’ letters and cross-examination of those who received them would open a huge can of worms…’

The present Earl of Rosse wrote to me in my capacity as a family executor on 17 February 1986, ‘I have the archivist from the Public Records Office back here for a week when I hope to get these and other additions inserted into our archival system.  Meanwhile I hope you may be hearing from my niece Sarah how thrilled she was with the picture.’  The niece being Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones, daughter of Princess Margaret, and the picture being a famous study of Sarah’s grandfather, King George VI which I brought from Windsor in 1956 after the Duchess of Newcastle died and Forest Farm was pulled down. READ IN FULL

HIDDEN MYSTERIES From my own cult sources I have no doubt that the Kincora Boys Home Scandal involved SRA and devilworship. My source who is a clergyman informed me that SRA and devilworship took place at Kincora and he said that he knew who these people were. He told me that the Satanic Abusers at Kincora were “top civil servants!” The results of the official police investigations into the Kincora scandal are Sealed to this day because of the influence of powerfull politicians!

Also, the Kincora children were taken to Birr Castle, County Offally , the home of the Earl of Rosse, where the abuse took place! (Confirmed to me by Joan Coleman of “RAINS”, England)  Read In Full

According toWhen one considers the locations of the “witchy” sites where animals were discovered skinned and dismembered , one wonders if the Repubican excuse was a valid one.  The sites were located in Antrim town, a largely loyalist town and in Coleraine , another loyalist town.

Recently , Rev Roy Magee said that animals, which had been used in a satanic ritual , were found at the Tower near Newtownards in County Down , another loyalist area. Read in full HERE
