David Bowie had sex ‘with more young people than Jimmy Savile’, disgraced pop mogul claims 2nd March 2016

A DISGRACED pop mogul has claimed the BBC ignored “hundreds” of memos about pop icon David Bowie.

Convicted paedophile Jonathan King said the BBC turned a blind eye to alleged complaints about Bowie because he was such a huge star.He claimed the late music legend had sex “with many more young people than Blackburn, Savile and the rest of the BBC DJs added together”.Writing on his website King of Hits, King said the Dame Janet Smith inquiry into sex abuse at the Corporation had missed vital evidence.

The disgraced former music mogul hit out after Dame Janet’s report led to the sacking of veteran DJ Tony Blackburn last week.

He said: “Dame Janet obviously never read my books. Or examined the hundreds of BBC memos about such stars as the mighty David Bowie – a terrific talent who I knew well, who had sex with many more young people than Blackburn, Savile and the rest of the BBC DJs added together. Or did she decide it might be wiser not to mention such stars?”

Bowie, a pop legend, he chose to remain hidden from the public.

King, 70, who served three-and-a-half years of a seven year sentence for abusing schoolboys, was released from Maidstone Prison, Kent, in 2005.He was convicted of four indecent assaults and two serious sexual offences on boys aged 14 and 15.King was convicted of offences committed between 1983 and 1989 after an investigation by Surrey Police.

He added: “I wonder whether all the rock and pop stars on the show (Top of the Pops) who had allegations made against them were asked to give evidence? Or were those employees of the BBC regarded as too wealthy? Or did they never misbehave? Were there no groupies?”

Tony Blackburn, 73, was sacked after 49 years with the BBC this week because he claims never to have been quizzed by the corporation over sex abuse allegation while the BBC say he was.

Internal BBC memos claimed he had been interviewed by chiefs in 1971 over claims that he “seduced” a teenage Top of the Pops dancer but Blackburn has always denied these allegations.
But he has insisted he was not quizzed by any bosses over the allegations about 15-year-old Claire McAlpine, who died of an overdose in 1971.

She later withdrew her complaint against him and he has always denied any allegations of impropriety.There is no suggestion that Blackburn has been investigated over any other claim other than that of Claire McAlpine.And he has accused the BBC of launching a whitewash and cover-up.The 73-year-old, who denies “seducing” Claire McAlpine, said: “Material from ‘secret BBC memos’ from 1971 and 1972 has been published as part of an attempt by the BBC to ‘prove’ I was interviewed about the Claire McAlpine allegations.

  2. Wow! There’s a lot that will start coming out, I imagine, as the stars of the 60s and 70s start to pass away, but I noticed in tell-all books, there seems to be a lot of underage sex, especially in the music and film industries. Geez, I remember growing up in the 60s as a kid and 70s as a teen rarely hearing of incidents, but when you read about child stars and their sexual abuse, it’s shocking and sad, as a few seem to see the experience as an “encounter” and not outright abuse. As a kid, we were shielded from knowledge of this abuse, the media never seemed to cover it, unless someone was caught, but even then it seemed it wasn’t in the public eye. A lot was underground, so to speak, but when you learn about it, it’s extremely sad and heart wrenching.
