BIRD FLU

Bird flu is back in the UK after the Government confirmed a number of turkeys at a farm in Lincolnshire have tested positive for a strain of the disease which has been circulating in Europe.

Efforts are being made to contain the infection at the poultry farm  in Tetney near Louth, but fears are growing that cases could soon emerge elsewhere after the Government’s hotlines received hundreds of calls from people claiming farmers were flouting a 30-day quarantine.

We are taking immediate and robust action and an investigation is under wayDefra

The quarantine was enforced last week to stop farmed birds mixing with wild birds, minimising their risk of contracting the disease.

But it has emerged that even when cases of bird keepers breaking the rules are reported it does not have the resources to investigate. One farmer reporting cases of bird being allowed to roam free in Derbyshire claims he was told by trading standards that they would not investigate.

LYRICS  (i know what i make of them!)

You think you’re missed, Well let me tell you this,

The love I felt for you, Has flown away

And now you see, What you’ve done to me

So all I can ask is why, why

You made us feel like one,

I should’ve known that you were wrong.

Oh yeah, you did it on your own, Now you got to go,

Oh no, I won’t let you get me down,

You tried to hurt my feelings, You stopped me dreaming,

But here I draw the line,

I wish you luck in life and goodbye

You let me think, That you were so so true

Lows, lies, truth cannot lie You wanted to go,

From a high straight down to a low

But all excuses here, The reasons, they’re, they’re everywhere

Chasing rainbows can be fun Been chasing you for so long

Oh yeah, you did it on your own, Now you got to go,

Oh no, I won’t let you get me down,

You tried to hurt my feelings, You stopped me dreaming,

But here I draw the line,

I wish you luck in life and goodbye

Lincluden Abbey or Lincluden Collegiate Church lies in a bend of the Cluden Water near its confluence with the River Nith, and on the eastern edge of the Lincluden housing estate. () Lincluden was founded as a priory for Benedictine nuns in the 1160s. The Abbey houses the tomb of Princess Margaret, Lady of Galloway and is one of the most elaborate monumental tombs surviving in Scotland.
