A 17-year-old youth was ordered to be detained for life yesterday for a ”vicious and cowardly” murder which left the imprint of his new trainers on his victim’s face. CRIME matriarch Mags Haney was surrounded by her lawless family as she buried her teenage grandson and tearfully proclaimed “my heart is lying in that coffin”.
The convicted drug dealer took centre stage at the funeral – despite the presence of Barry Haney’s bereaved mum, her daughter Catherine. There was no sign of the recent rift between the women as Catherine, known locally as “Crackers”, helped her wheelchair-bound mother out of the service at St Mary’s Church in Stirling.
However, grief didn’t appear to have softened heavyweight Catherine, 38 as she flicked a V-sign from the back window of the funeral car.
Barry, 18, also known as Bradley, lived with Mags, 68, and his twin sister Michaela in Alva, Clackmannanshire.

A SCOT has been found dead in his hotel room in the Philippines. A handwritten note was apparently discovered next to the body of 25-year-old David Young.
David had taken a break in the Philippines – where he had once done voluntary work – to think about his future after completing a medical degree. Dad John, a GP in Alva, Clackmannanshire, said: “David worked with a charity in a village with abandoned and disabled children.
