Police are investigating the death of a four-month-old baby boy who died in hospital last month.
The baby is understood to have died later that day and police are treating the death as unexplained.
They are continuing enquiries into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told STV: “Following a post-mortem examination officers are treating the death as unexplained. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were on scene within five minutes of receiving an emergency call.
He said: “We received a call at 10.29am on Wednesday, February 15 to attend an incident at an address on Dumbain Crescent, Balloch. We dispatched an urgent tier ambulance and a paramedic response unit to the address. The first unit arrived on scene at 10.34am. A male patient was taken to Royal Alexandria Hospital.”
